Good morning all y'allllllsssss people. I'm so tired. I surprised H with tickets to the Rockies-Giants game last night for our anniversary. It was really fun, but I was up way past my bedtime. And I was sad I couldn't drink beer (

I like the Australian Gold spray, but that's the only spray I've used that works. I tried the Neutrogena spray, but it's cold and it makes you wiggle away from it when you're being sprayed, thus defeating the purpose. I do use the Neutrogena SPF 70 lotion for my tats though. Gotta protect that expensive ink.

I've heard that doctor's are finding a link between Vitamin D deficiencies in Middle aged women and sun screen. Because we protect our skin from getting the sun damage, we're also preventing our skin from absorbing the good stuff from the sun. Like Vitamin D apparently.
A couple of women in my office have talked about it because they're dealing with vitamin D deficiencies.

One word for keeping people from talking to you on flights/doctors' offices, etc.: HEADPHONES. Attach them to an iPod or something, whether you're listening to music or playing a game, or reading a book.
Happy Anniversary Daff and Fishy! Fish, have a great trip!
Daff - the shoes are interesting - I don't know how I feel about them. They do remind me of the cycling sandals - maybe that's why they don't bother me as much. I don't know if they'd look good on me, though.
I didn't think any sunscreen above 30 or 45 did any bettter job? Did I read that somewhere? Let me see if I can find that article (or another one).
Max almost met his Maker this morning. John's been gone since Saturday. Monday morning, I woke up, and he'd chewed into bits a fan cord (unplugged). Today, I woke up, and he'd chewed a pair of my sandals to hell. The heels are ruined, and he chewed the straps on one pair. I've decided it's because normally, when I go to bed at 9/9:30, John comes home at 10:45 or so and takes him back downstairs for another 2-3 hours of playtime. So, he's making his own playtime (plus barking at me to go out at 1am). He'll sleep in his crate tonight and tomorrow. />: I Just when I thought we were WAY past all that.

Yeah I got myself 75 for the honeymoon and FI 40. I apply every 30 minutes or so and I pretty much stay out of sunlight as much as possible. I am totally that girl at the beach.
I am on the search for a big floppy hat so I don't have to worry about my scalp.
I drink so much milk I would be surprised if I'm deficient in Vitamin D. Even though I wear sunblock, just the shear amount of time I'm outside must give me some also.
My sister and mom are both deficient.
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I don't think there are physical symptoms. LIike WM said it shows up in your bloodwork. I guess it's not just middle aged woman that can have it. (I guess anyone can really). I just know it's the middle aged women in my office that talk about it.
Hey ladies! I'm irked at my month club today, we had a "raid" from someone whose been married for a whopping 3 years and I found it condescending for no real reason.
I googled
"Some of the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency can be seen in women only, like mood changes during premenstrual syndrome. Other mood related symptoms are depressive behavior and/or seasonal affective disorders. These claims are not yet officially accepted as true, but they certainly make sense. Also, in menopausal women, symptoms of vitamin D deficiency can be closely related to osteoporosis. When it comes to pregnant women, we already know how important vitamin D is for the fetus."

I think I recall my B and D levels were fine; I'm just anemic. When we ride bikes, I don't use sunscreen. Yeah, yeah, but that's my sun exposure for D. Most of me is covered, too. John wears it, because he's out in it MUCH more than I am.
I also take the top down on the Miata when it's warm enough and sunny so I get some sun there - it's perfect - a 15 minute drive home.

OMG I'm so excited, I broke my Kindle like, 6 weeks ago when I took it home to CA, the screen under the main screen broke. Well I've been putting off calling, but I wanted to see if they would take it back and sell me a new one at a discount. I finally called yesterday, and the lady was SO NICE! She was like, oh no! We'll get you a new one out today, it'll be there the 18th, and just put the old one in the box, print the prepaid label and send it back! No charge, of course! Amazon Kindle, best customer service EVER! *does happy dance*
