  • Boo, I just heard from my friend that we were supposed to go visit over NYE.  She is in her first trimester of pregnancy and has been super duper sick, so our visit is off.  I totally understand but I am bummed - was really looking forward to seeing her and her adorable 17-month old :(  And now I need to come up with something to do on NYE, which I kind of hate.
  • That stinks Abbie.  :(  I hope she feels better.  I have absolutely no desire to go out for New Years this year, so we're going to go to Genji's for dinner and then come home and see if J can make it to midnight, I bet she can, but I'll probably fall asleep early.
  • Good morning! We had severe thunderstorms last night. Not very Christmas-y, but I will take that since we do a lot of driving for the holiday! We still have no definitive NYE plans. The party we usually go to isn't happening, and BIL hasn't decided if he going to have a party at his place instead(both places are in NYC). We might just stay local, which isn't terrible, but not as much fun.

  • I kind of hate all the pressure that surrounds NYE.  We will probably end up staying home, eating pizza, drinking champagne, and watching movies.  Which actually sounds like a pretty good night to me!

[QUOTE]Habs - I love your siggy.  I always said if I ever got an all black kitty, I would name her Egypt.  And if I ever got a horse, I would name him Excalibur.

I've always wanted a horse named Artax.

Habs, if you get a boy kitty, you should name him Tugger, after Rum Tum Tugger. Rum Tum and Sir Whisky could have lots of fun together.
  • Our NYE usually consists of family game night at my parents' house.  Not sure if we'll do that this year or not.

  • Morning!

I'm at work, but I only have to stay until noon then I am off until January 4th! Woohoo!

Habs, I always prefered girl kitties too, I have no idea why. But then we got Rupert and he is the sweetest cat ever. He totally cured me of my girl cat prejudice. I actually slept in the second bedroom last night just so I could sleep with the kitties. I'm going to miss them while I'm gone.

That's basically what we'll be doing, except hopefully outside around the fire pit.  Lots of champagne and food is basically all I need to keep me happy!

  • Thanks ladies! You all have been a super great support system along the way so a super duper thanks for that as well!!! Lynda I'll ditto snips with the covering with a blanket, both the dog and the crate. Our dogs love to burrow and there's always two blankets in each crate as well as blankets on dog beds in the living room and our bedroom. It's good you're rewarding him when he's quiet. Just try real hard not to reward his bad behavior. It sucks when they cry, but like a kid they'll eventually calm down. Treat his crate and play area like it's his space and not just a space for him to be when you're gone and he'll soon go in there on his own, keep up the awesome job. You'll both be awesome puppy parents!

  • We usually had girl cats too.  The boy cats were tough -- they'd sneak out and get in trouble with raccoons.
  • *checks tickets to Florida*

    I keed I keed.
  • We have no plans for NYE either.  H has to work in the hospital that weekend, don't know if we'll be able to do anything big.
  • I'll be working on NYE, but it shouldn't be late. Doesn't matter because we usually pass out well before midnight anyway. Cfas invited me to an awesome NYE party up near her, but since I'll be working I won't be able to make it. Bummer. Maybe next year.

  • My H's birthday is NYE so I'll never be able to get out of celebrating.
  • I really like the idea of a pet, but I'm too busy right now to actually take care of one.

Can I borrow one of y'all's pets for an hour or two?

I'm wondering if the kitty friend Rosie posted about hooours ago belongs to someone in her neighborhood who just lets it out all day.  We had a "stray" once that we used to feed and our neighbor adopted her.  A couple of days later there were lost cat signs all over the neighborhood.  He hated to give that poor kitty back to her human since the woman didn't take great care of her.

It's pretty warm here, too.  Supposed to get up to 70 today.  I'd take that 80 degree Christmastime any day!
  • I would probably keel over and die if everyone showed up at my house for NYE.  A good kind of keel over though.  Mica, you guys are welcome to come over.  I realize it might be a tad awkward handing out with a bunch of people you've never met before, but the invitation is out there :)

  • I prefer boy cats, even though one of my best kitties was a girl (Jazmine, she died at age 17). But I think I'd rather have a girl dog.

I hope we don't have any NYE plans. I'd rather stay home and watch the countdown in bed, then pass out right after.

Also, I prefer wearing shorts on Christmas. I think that will happen this year since it's supposed to be in the upper 70s or 80s.
  • She was outside at like 5 this morning. So I dunno.

I need to call the apartment complex soon. I will obsess over this all day.

  • Username I have 4 you can choose from. Adamar I think it'd be fun to hang out with your people. I feel like I'd get along with them well.

  • My people are good people.  We know how to have a good time.  Well, except for one of the guys.  He just needs to find a good woman and get his balls back.

<div>I hope her people turn up.  Have you thought about making "found cat" pictures of her?  Maybe her humans just live a couple of buildings over and she's lost her way?</div><div>

  • Morning. I'm so sore I don't want to move but I know I have to. We have zero NYE plans this year. I'd be happy staying home but I know H wants to go out.
  • Watch out, Adamar, I might show up at your place.  Don't worry.  I travel with booze.  :)
  • Howdy Partners!

I'm feeling festive in my ugly Christmas sweater at work today. :)
  • I require pics of ugly christmas sweater
  • Good morning! Off of work until January 3 :) I made myself get up to go workout though. I need to stave off these holiday pounds.

I also don't get into the NYE hype. H and I are probably going out to dinner and then coming back home to watch movies. We don't know anyone really in town besides some co-workers, so I doubt we'll have any other plans.

And about lost kitties. When I was a kid, we had a cat that would curl up under our front bushes for a couple weeks. THis was in the dead of winter. My dad is allergic, but it got so cold, my mom brought him into the garage to feed him. We started asking around b/c we couldn't keep him and our neighbors ended up taking him in. If not, we would have had to take him to the shelter. I hope you find a home for her!
