      Don't write Mr. and Mrs. So and So, as other posters have pointed out. If you want to write it to both people use "or". The woman may or may not be changing her name, and even if she does, it's not going to be done immediately, so always use her maiden name.       Depends on your culture. In the US, and the UK, and many of the European traditions, because the woman became "property" of the husband, her last name was changed to his. Hers just went away in most cases. In some Latin cultures, though, the woman becomes "de HISLASTNAME" so, literally, the bride is "of" that family.…

      DNB, I agree with the name thing. If you want to change your name just do it. That just sounds like some kind of silly game or test. I bet that person her FI it's totally ok to not get her a birthday present and then gets mad when he believes her.

      hasn't happened yet, but asafp. I'll be changing my name legally asap, so that I can change my name professionally asap. I'll have to get my nursing license in my maiden name initially, then change the name on the license after my married name is officially legally changed. ugh.
