So who is in the blizzard zone?

I wish we were.   It was in the 50's today.   It hasn't snowed in a while.

I'm ready to snow on powder damn it!

Not for another day and a half for us.
I actually prefer the snowy weather with a longer day and bright sunshine daily between storms, to the gloom and cold from late Dec to mid January.

I got my skis out. Got the dog sled ready. Come on snow.

I am (maybe). According to our local meteorologists, there is potential that we'll get nothing depending on the way the storm progresses. So we're either getting 12-18" or 1-3". Yeah, work tomorrow is going to suck because we'll have to work tons of OT in case we can't make it in Tuesday. But a snow day would be lovely.

I will be. I'll have the day off from work, but my husband is part of the media, and he's pissed he might have to work (Tuesday is his day off).

2 feet of snow is crazy.

Pushing 65 here in Denver today! Made for a nice day at the stock show, but I agree I'm ready for a good dumping…BUT, not until after my baby shower next weekend. I'll cry if a storm comes through and my Mom can't make it in.

my sister is in Chester County. Same sort of predictions.  You are getting dumped on and not a damn thing.

    Great job right?

I am :(   We are under blizzard watch. Snow expected to start falling on an off tomorrow night,  with increasing snow up to 30 inches and high winds until early Wed a.m. Blagh! I hate snow. I hate power outages even more.

Time to check the cheese and wine supplies.

We're supposed to get some -- I think 3-6" through tomorrow afternoon? It's been snowing periodically this evening but nothing all that exciting.

We are. And I'm pleased as punch. I wanna snowshoe!

Correction: That was wishful thinking. I guess we're only getting 5-8 inches.

I'd love a good snowstorm. I'm in the Midwest and I think we've only had about a foot of snow from Nov-now. Which is pretty much nothing! We have gross brown grass and no snow. So I'm pretty jealous of my friends in the NE.

I am! I'm in the 20"-30" zone. Hopefully I'll be leaving work early tomorrow and staying home Tuesday.

Oh it might rain tomorrow. Fuck that's gonna make driving hard

WAIT, I was wrong in my correction. 12-24 inches. WOOOOHOOOO!!!

This girl misses the lake-effect snow from her childhood. Kids used to sled off of the roof onto the ground snow. One of my crazy neighbors used to go up on his roof with a snowblower...I don't know how that never ended in a bloody mess.

We are supposed to get some Tuesday morning. I might go buy a shovel after work tomorrow. It rarely snows here, but we had 8 snow days last year, and I had to borrow the neighbors' shovel.

We are suppose to get some. I'm not sure if we will or not. I do know if there is snow, we won't go out into the field sooo i'm hoping for snow!

One of my favorite school memories of elementary school was being an older kid and able to spend half the school day outside digging oaths to clear the windows. A hundred years they built high brick schools. We got to go to replacement schools built in 60's and 70's, stupid low ceiling close to the ground like California ranch houses.
Took a decade before word got out that the bottom of the roof edges was closer to the ground than the number of inches of snow we get here annually.

One of those bad news good news things. The bad news is they were built before the first oil crisis, with virtually no insulation. The good news was that once the snow was higher than the roof with paths only to doors from high snowblowers, the snow kept the wind out so by January we were not cold anymore. Ain't New Hampshire Grand.

Yup, we are supposed to get a good amount tomorrow.

Soooo... I had to visit a site in NW CT tomorrow, so I decided to go today instead and my mom and grandma tagged along to go see my sister and nephew.

...And then I slid the car down a hill, waited 2 hrs for a tow truck (which never came), and didn't get over to see my sister.

    Bring on the SNOWCOPALYPSE!

Here's what the National Weather Service says for Boston:
"IMPACTS... HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL RESULT IN WHITE-OUT / BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY. TRAVEL WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE AND LIFE THREATENING ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION."

I love the drama. I wish I had figured out how to do GIFs like all you knotties who're way smarter than me... I'm sure there has to be a perfect one for this occasion!

Oh Maire - I am so sorry.  I hate snow and power outages.  Michigan really isn't playing in this storm but I'm sure there are still a couple of good ones left to come our way.

I am. Here in NYC they're saying between 1-2 feet! I wouldn't mind having a day off from work of course, but I'm fully expecting to hear on the news, "Stay off the roads if you can...Public schools are open." Happens every year.

    Me me me me meeeee.

They're projecting 28" for the surrounding area. My town and the 2 surrounding it are in a weird valley that has it's own mini weather pattern so we usually get more.

    Batten down the hatches motherfuckers!

Don't hate me, but I would love to see some snow here. Not like blizzard power outage snow. But any snow. We had one little sprinkle of snow right after Thanksgiving, and that's been it.

    Stay warm, blizzard Knotties!

We are also in the alert area on the Blizzard Warning Zone. The last I heard was it would start tomorrow early afternoon and the worst would be Mon night into Tues. Estimated totals in the 20-30 inch range with locally higher amounts possible.

We have a generator and a fireplace and I'm still nursing so if I'm hydrated then the baby can eat. The snowblower is here and we have winter tires on all three cars (even the convertible) . I just hope that we don't lose power even if we have the generator. It shouldn't run overnight due to its placement and then we have to bundle up since it could get really freaking cold.

And my company was just acquired after the holidays so I have a new employer. So I don't actually have any time off and I'm going to need to try to WFH in this.

That's us.  We got dumped on just before Thanksgiving.  Then some more around xmas and that's about it.

Weather.com also put me in the 20-30in zone... which I wouldn't mind if I didn't still have to work.  Plus I already have someone asking to sleep over since I live so close to the hospital, and well, neither my living room nor my fridge are really ready for guests lol

NYC, here. I have seen everything between 1-3 feet predicted.

I'm kind of excited. We haven't had much this year!

I went snorkeling today, followed by a bike ride along the beach at sunset (in booty shorts and a tank top).  We are, to say the least, in the clear.

    Stay warm, my lovelies!
