Crazy episode!

So many people on my fb group are calling tlc out on the actress they hired for Mahogany.  They say anyone who speaks Spanish knows this actress’ first language is English! And Ben already admitted in an interview his whole storyline is to promote his acting career.

I’m also shocked at how many comments on my fb group (and mostly women) asking why Jasmine is so mad at the nude pictures because she’s walking around half naked for the world to see anyway.  Ummmm NOT the same thing! How do people not understand that? Wearing a bathingsuit on a beach resort does not equal your “boyfriend” warranting sending out those nudes!!!! But - if you ask me, that’s a fake storyline too and I doubt it even happened.  They need a spin other than Gino’s hatless head.

Mike is such a sweet guy.  Ximena has NO interest in him.  It’s sad that he can’t see that wake up, Mike!

I also can’t beileve Kimberly got her way after all the begging and ultimatums.  It was so awkward. “I now pronounce us boyfriend and girlfriend.  Commence sex. The African way”.

Edit; forgot about Ella.  That storyline is SO snoozefest. But I love how she’s like “I’m almost 30 and I’m still single”…. Ah. Girl, when you look back 10, 15 or even 20 years from now and realize 30 is not old, you’ll feel so foolish for rushing everything. 

if you don’t watch pillowtalk, you should watch this episode.  Kenny & Armando were killing it with their comments. 🤣

I'm at least glad Ben is being roasted over the coals for what a creep he is.  That's what he gets for an obviously fake storyline.  Weird he admitted it, because it's just going to make people hate him more, plus it is breaking his NDA with TLC.

I agree that topless photos are very different from scantily clad photos.

I think Ximena is fond of Mike.  But it has been pretty obvious she's mainly after him for what he gives her.  I was really side-eying her pressure at him to pay for her plastic surgeries.  Girl, he's already paying your rent and all your bills.  Come on!

I'm not an Usman fan at all.  But I was proud of him for standing his ground.  Except now he caved, when she finally gave him an ultimatum.  Their whole relationship is gross.  She's needy and he's greedy.

I like the Ella and Johnny storyline.  But some of that is because there has been a lot of footage on the "Johnny" side and I've enjoyed learning more about the day-to-day life in China.

I have no hope for any of these couples! Yesterday was a diaster. AND Jasmine (as crazy as she is) seems to be more and more likeable throughout this season. She’s levelheaded after all. However, once she see’s the $270 ring, she’s gonna flip her shit. 

Even though Mahogany/Ben/parents are all actors - she actually has a good point about renting an air b’nb for him to go to.  Why invite a strange stranger to your actual place? And TLC, you don’t have to use subtitles when Mahogany speaks English. We understand her native tongue quite well. 

Kimberly. You’re an embarrassment to femalekind. Also, it looks like she gets super upset about a song he named after an ex of his. Does she not know he has a past? Doesn’t she have one?

can I side eye 4 days of depression after failing an exam? I get it.  Be sad. One day.  Then pick yourself up and carry on. Memphis and her ex did the humpty dumpty.  And depending on the time line, Hazma and her may not have been serious anyway.  She said “when we started to date”….

Ximena:
”I had to go to a loanshark to get money for my surgery”.
Goes wedding dress shopping “Mike, if you don’t pay for my surgery, then no dress.”
Mike: “I don’t want to talk about it.  Don’t you love me?”
”no surgery.  No love”.

Go back to that loanshark if you want it so bad, Ximena! If you want the surgery, more power to you. But don’t expect your “fiancé” to pay for it along with everything else he’s paying for!

The rumor is Mike/Ximena already broke up because she cheated on him.  But I think even Mike is starting to take the blinders off in that episode.  Pouting when she doesn't get her way, negative attitude, and sex as a weapon...welcome to what your life would have looked like, Mike, if you had married Ximena.

I get that Gino wants to "surprise" Jasmine with an engagement ring.  But buying one without her was a very poor idea, because she is very specific in her tastes.

But, note to self:  If I want expensive jewelry, go buy it overseas.  Assuming that was real diamonds and real gold, I couldn't believe how low those prices were at that jewelry store.

not sure if you follow Darcey & Stacey (it is pretty dry), but Georgi proposed. With a ring Darcey bought.  More than $10,000.  Because that was the down payment price.

I do follow Darcey and Stacey.  I had no idea Darcey had picked out and paid for that ring!  So much for her acting like she was "so surprised".  There was a lot of head tilting online and on Pillow Talk about how Georgi was able to buy such a big, expensive ring.  That explains it.

This is funny timing.  I'm on my lunch break and was just reading an article online that Darcey and Georgi broke up again.

On a different subject, I was also reading that Natalie's mother is doing fine.  She escaped the Ukraine and is currently in another part of Europe.  But Natalie is worried for her friends, who are still in the thick of it.  They've been sending her messages that they fear for their lives.

Similar story from Yara.  She said her mom and family are fine (sounds like they are in a different, safer part of the Ukraine).  But she's very worried about her friends who are in Kiev.

I also saw an Instagram post from Lana.  The woman that weird David guy from Las Vegas went to visit multiple times before she actually showed up for a meeting.  She was hiding in her building's basement with her dog.

I hope this Darcey/Georgi break up is real this time. I don’t see either Florian or Georgi have ANY personality whatsoever, and I just don’t see the appeal. I guess they just love being the dominant one!  Still! They can’t be having great convo’s.  Either of them!

I thought Sunday’s was the last episode before the tell all, but I guess I’m wrong?

I’m wondering if they casted a Mahogany real
quick for the show after Alina was fired to fill in some time? The storyline looks rushed. Maybe it was supposed to be a catfish storyline but they needed airtime suddenly?

Why is Kimberly so mad? They weren’t in a relationship despite what she thought. And he didn’t hide it
from her. He ended up telling her who Zara was.  It’s petty IMO to be SO angry about it like she is.

I’m interested to see what happens with Johnny and Ella on the next show (that’s gotta be the finale right?)….I’m surprised that she’s surprised that Johnny was hurt by her sleeping with another man “I could see it on his face”.  Duh. Do we have to explain the repercussions of cheating with you, Ella?

It does feel like this season is longer than usual, but that's probably my perception and not reality, lol.  

I still love 90DF, but I miss the old days when the story lines were much more real.  And the people in the show were mainly looking for love.  Not whatever 15 minutes of fame they could glom onto.

Both Ben and Mahogany have admitted their story was mostly faked.  Ben did the show for more exposure to his "modeling" career and Mahogany is an aspiring actress.

I think Kimberly and Usman is a mostly faked story also.  I suspect that's why Kimberly made such a big deal about Zara.  It's not that she was actually upset about such a minor point.  It's that it was a "dramatic fight" they could do for TLC and good way for them to both end a relationship that was never real to begin with.

Ella is a trip.  She's so worried about hanging on to her "Asian prince".  But then blows up the relationship.  It makes me wonder if she has a self-destructive type of personality.

In a surprise twist, I've heard that Hamzah and Memphis did get married.  And that he is already in the United States and Memphis already gave birth to their child.  I thought they had NO chance!  In the beginning, especially since he is from Tunisia which is notorious for romance/marriage scams, I assumed he was only in it for the green card.  But he changed my mind over the season.  He does seem to genuinely love and care about Memphis.

There's a big post about the new season in one of the sub-Reddit's.  A lot of that same sentiment.  But also a lot of joking like "that's what we always say", "TLC won't let us down, it will still be trash and I'm here for it!", etc.

A lot of people were disappointed that Bini and Ari are on it and joked that those scenes will be their bathroom/water breaks.  But I'm actually excited about them.  I definitely wouldn't have wanted to see another season where they were still in Africa.  However, since we know them as a couple in his country, I think it will be interesting to contrast/compare how they are when they are in the US.  Plus, be able to see a character we are already familiar with (Bini), cope with a move to the US.

Phew! Turned out well that Mahogany’s “parents”showed up unexpectedly for breakfast.  That would have been embarrassing….being stood up like that.  Also she and Ben communicated prior to meeting entirely in English. Why was she texting him spanish (TLC was showing it up on the screen in spanish and then it translated to English)? She’s so inconsistent!

Ella didn’t sleep with anyone.  They needed a twist.  Johnny’s reaction was WAY to nonchalant. He was prepped.  No one says “it’s ok. I understand”. After hearing that.

As crazy as Jasmine is, I’m on her side.  Gino’s lack of emotion and reaction to ANYthing is a big red flag, Jasmine.  I get that you have enough emotion for both of you, but you need something out of him.  When she said she made $3,000 a month I’m like… take home or pre taxes 🤣? That’s literally what went through my head.  Is she asking for her take home pay from him? I find it hard to believe teachers in Panama make that….

Did you see the store clerk watching Memphis and Hazma’s family make fun of the outfits? She was not impressed. As far as Memphis’ final choice, I’m all for custom and tradition, but was that the best one for her in the shop? There was a joke on my FB page about her ready to be an Elvis impersonator after her wedding. I had to chuckle.

Mike. Mike. Mike.  How many red flags have to slap you in the face and take you down before you realize she is using you? Like… she even admits it! It’s hard to feel sorry for you at this point.

If Ben and Kim could face the facts that no one half their age wants them, I think they would be good couple.  They could be "creepy intense" with each other.  They are both such scary people (shudder).

I also got the vibe that the Johnny/Ella "twist" was totally fake.  Not that I would be surprised if Ella cheated on him but, you're totally right @CharmedPam, no one hearing that would be so nonchalant about it.

Yeah.  I like how Jasmine is immediately jumping to she is going to lose her job and Gino needs to pay her, her wages.  But since that's her "dream job", she'll never look for anything else.  Not that I'm excusing what Gino did but, I'm just saying.  She has an Only Fans account, so I assume she's also put out risque photos of herself online.

The ex who supposedly received those photos has made a number of posts on the sub-Reddit.  She said she did notify Jasmine that Gino had sent her those photos, but  it was just to warn Jasmine, not to harass her.  She said she never threatened to post them online or send them to Jasmine's work.  That Jasmine is totally lying about that.

I also wasn't a fan of Memphis's wedding outfit.  I never specifically connected Elvis with wearing tight white pants but, yeah!  That is a classic Elvis look.  I can see where your FB group is coming from.

Mike is definitely an idiot.  But he showed some of his true colors.  The minute she said she didn't want to have sex again until after they were married, he looked ready to hop on the next plane back home and never look back.

I was noticing the age differences on all the couples.  Only 2 have less than 10 years. And two (Mahogany and Hamza) lied about it too! But Kim/Ben/Gino are the largest by far.

I've already forgotten about Caleb and Alina, lol.  More proof about just how long this season feels.

But it's three couples, including them are less than a 10-year difference.  Four couples, if you include Mike and Ximena because they are exactly 10 years apart.  A lot of people have been doubting she is only 24.  But I think she looks fairly young.  Especially for someone that has lived a hard life.

First of all, Ximena is still the worst.  Also, stop thinking your freedom is gone once you get married. That’s your first problem. Most people say their life begins then!
I loved when Usman’s friends were like “anyone could have recorded her throwing water on him and his entire carrer would be ruined!”

I am on Memphis’ side about a prenup.  Because she has kids and should protect them financially as well.  Anything she has pre marriage is off the table though.  That I learned in my own divorce when I had to divide up assets and list pre and during.  But anything she makes during marriage is yes, marital property.  However, I actually like Hamza. I hope they don’t end that way.

Do you think Jasmine will keep that ring? Her response wasn’t that bad actually. She was diplomatic about it.  But if you were to ask me…. I wouldn’t like it for myself (I’m sure he’s going to replace it).

I liked Ximena's mom looks of horror, when she realizes Ximena is about to throw away financial security and a chance for her kids to grow up in the US.  But Ximena is young and, if she isn't ready to get married, then she isn't ready to get married.  Though I think she could have been kinder to Mike with how she broke the news.

I am on Memphis's side about a prenup also.  I think it's a shame they get such a bad rap.  But it's probably especially difficult for foreign people to understand the benefits, when they aren't common in their culture.

I'm happy for Jasmine and Gino.  I'm glad she said yes.  I've heard they are still together.

TLC has been extra annoying with the Mahogany and Ben story.  TLC, it's bad enough when you completely fabricate a story.  But can you at least stay consistent with it?  Mahogany seems to speak fluent English, but then they "forget" they've already filmed her speaking perfect English, and have scenes where she doesn't seem fluent and the app is used.

And I know there is a lot of hate for Ben, which I agree with.  But I still think it was hugely shitty of Mahogany to leave him stranded at that hotel.  Then again, that also could have just been a story plot and he was getting a ride back from the production crew, all along.

My pre-nup story and why they can be a great idea, for all parties (not mine, personally):

In her early 20s, my friend married a guy who had substantially more money than her and a high earning career (surgeon).  He insisted she sign a prenup.  She refused because that meant he "thought they might get divorced and that was no way to start a marriage".  He backed off and they got married without one.

He cheated on her 6 months later and she left him.  They didn't have any kids, so that wasn't even a thing.  But they still spent YEARS in court.  She wasn't trying to get his money.  The big issue was something about he wanted her to pay for half his tax liability for the year they were married.

He used his money as a weapon.  He'd throw up objections over the tiniest things.  Because it was chump change for him to pay his attorney $300 to write something up.  But it financially broke my friend to constantly be having to come up with that same kind of money for her attorney to respond to it.

She deeply regretted that she had been so vehemently against a prenup.  If she had signed a prenup, all of those issues she faced in divorce court would have already been worked out before they got married.  It would have saved her money and she could have made a faster, cleaner break.

For one more rotten cherry, on top.  She had met him at her workplace.  An investment firm.  He was a big client and also long-time friends with the owner.  She was "laid off" a week after she left him.  Her boss literally told her she should go back to her H and work things out with him.

Didn’t Ximena’s mom say “being with Mike is a good opportunity?” Or something along those lines? Not an exact quote.  So we know how they all feel about him (does he make that much?).  Her mom also didn’t say Mike was her first serious relationship.  I thought she said Mike was her first serious relationship since ___(jail guy?). 

I like Jasmine, but she can go off her rocker.  Or at least she did at first.  Way more chill now.
leaving Ben stranded would have been a shitty move if it happened to a IRL situation lol, but honestly $250 would be worth not having her in the car with me if I were him. Someone in my 90D FB group said she quit discovery+ after last nights ep because she was triggered with Ben and Kim’s preditory grooming she was seeing.

my prenup.
i got married 11/1.  Mortgage rates were pretty low in 2016 so I was looking into refinancing. The guy on the phone found out I was married since my closing and gave me some bad advise.  He said my house was now premarital property now despite his name not being on anything. So to CMA I went to a lawyer and asked. She didnt say it was. Didn’t say it wasn’t. But that she would draw up papers for a post nup anyway. It was only $600 but she could have told me I had nothing to worry about.  My ex signed them, everything was good and then April of next year I found out he had been cheating during that time.  No wonder he signed them! Guilt. At any rate, my house wasn’t even a discussion at my divorce.  The savings I accumulated during the marriage went to my new body. I actually went from “savings” to “debt” that matched his. Ha! So I didn’t even have any money to give him.  Not that he deserved a dime.

This season has an ending right?!? Right?

I hate the Ben/Mahogany filler they had to film quickly to make up for Caleb/Alina (I have a feeling that it was supposed to be a catfish storyline until Alina got fired) but I think Ben should run regardless.  Run for many reasons, but the main one being she has Edward Scissor hands as a hair stylist.  He has to look at her hair everyday. No one needs that in their life.  Also that kiss was SUPER creepy. If their lips even touched?

Is Gino calling it a prenump? I hope he isn’t being invoiced more by the lawyers for a prenump instead of a prenup.  Also, the camera crew could have told him.  I keep going back and forth with Jasmine.  She 100% is with him for the money.  First it’s “I don’t need your money. I’m not a sugarbaby.  I make my own! Oh, but still pay for everything.  I need that money”.  I forgot she had “3” jobs, so that makes more sense about her income.  I didn’t think teachers got paid $3k in Panama.

Speaking of jobs, who cares if Mike met Ximena on a webcam. It’s 2022 so that’s not shocking to me. Actually, It’s only shoking that men are still paying for this when it’s widely free on the internet.  He was a lonely man. It happens. He tried. They’re toxic together. Leave. It’s actually sad that her kids were brought into this. 

I’m happy for Memphis and Hamza. But girl, can we wait until after the wedding night to insult his bedroom antics? She’s never going to let this go…. Hamza’s sister looked beautiful though, you’re not supposed to outshine the bride! I loved Memphis’ make up though.  That lipstick! I think I own sparkle lipstick somewhere….

Is the Ella/johnny storyline so weak they feature them 10% of the time.  They haven’t been in the last 2 eps.

It IS the season ending, finally.  The two-part tell all starts next Sunday.

Jasmine/Gino -- WTH?  At first I felt like, "Cool, Gino's helping her with the rent now that she has a more expense place without a roommate."  But, dang girl, why can't you at least pay for all your other living expenses with your supposed three jobs!  And then say she's not a sugar baby, with a straight face.  With that said, I do think she cares about Gino.  I don't think it's all about the money for her.

I know it's an UO, but I do feel a little bad for Mike.  He loves Ximena or at least thought he did.  And now things are abruptly over.  With that said, I think his expectations were too high and, because of that, he was being a huge jerk to her during the break-up.

My interpretation.  Look, dude.  This was always a transactional relationship.  I think Ximena had some feelings for him and, initially, thought she could make it work.  Then came to the realization that she couldn't.  That's fair enough.  It sucks.  But it happens.

I'm not a fan of Ximena overall, but was impressed with how she handled things.  She wasn't "cold and calculating".  She seemed to feel bad, at least in the moment, that she was hurting him.  She was being direct, but not mean.  She gave him back the rings, when she so easily could have kept them and sold them later.  It may have been mostly about the money and financial security on her side, but she wouldn't have given the rings back if she was truly a heartless gold-digger.

I'd be excited for Hamza and Memphis, but I know they have already broken things off and she is claiming he is abusive.  Hopefully they have both learned a lesson.  That it isn't wise to marry and have a kid with someone you've only known for a couple weeks, smh.

I still can’t unsee the Ben & Mahogany “kiss”. It was so awkward and horribly acted out. I’m sure they just put their heads together, no real kiss. TLC likes to record that kinda stuff.

Her sister seems a lot nicer and probably a better catch.  Mike should switch his attentions over and see if she is interested, lol.  Though she seems too good for him.

Ok, after tonight’s tell all, I think I need to sleep with Gino to find out for myself.  I need to know how good he is that a vegan is begging for his meat.  🤣 🤣 🤣

Jasmine was definitely letting her crazy out again.  But I warmed up to her over the season.  She gets really irrational sometimes, but her and Gino seem to really love each other.  I'm hoping to see them someday on 90DF, the original.

Ooohhh, speaking of, just another couple weeks until the new season!  I noticed they stepped up the commercials from how they usually are.  Now the music and scenes remind me of perfume commercials, lol. 

I was LMAO that Kimberly was so "offended" by Ben, backstage.  I would have had much stronger words for her.  But I did feel bad she found out about Usman contacting Zara, on the Tell All.

Jasmine and Memphis both looked gorgeous!  They were dressed to the nines.
