I'm a dreamer.  I relate very, very well to the John Lennon song "Imagine."
I am non-religious, but I am very spiritual.  I follow something similar to Buddhist philosophy, and it is very important to me in the way I live my life, and how I expect people to treat each other. 

In the aftermath of a really messy divorce from a very emotionally abusive relationship, I have become quite feminist.  Fighting the current system which skews towards male dominance and female dependence, and changing what women are taught to expect for themselves has become a passion of mine.  

I write.  My interest has always been writing fantasy fiction (I'm working on a few pieces right now), but will most likely begin working on a non-fiction about women in abusive relationships, and how to get women to start demanding more for themselves.

We got into a really bad car accident, and from that point on it really opened my eyes to how much of myself and my own life I had given up to be with him. Also, how much of an alcoholic he was, and how i was completely miserable in my life. I packed my stuff in my car and drove out of state to stay with some family for a little bit...filed the papers and am much happier now!

Anways...

We're at the point in our relationship where we have figured out what we want to do with our lives and have discussed some general, flexible, unofficial timelines about when such things will be done.  So right now we are focusing in on what changes we need to make in our lives in order to achieve the goals we have together. My SO is making a career change shortly as a step towards this. Really, saving money at this point has been our number one priority.

We want to take the next step (aka: get engaged) when we feel we are financially ready to do so. I am excited for this (duh!), but I am not rushing for it either. So why are you on The Knot? Well, it feeds my inner little girl I suppose. I also look at houses for sale on a daily basis, even though we aren't ready to buy yet either. I guess it's all a motivating tool... thinking about what I have to look forward to on a daily basis keeps me focused on my work that will lead up to everything. =]
