    Meh, I should probably agree with your friends but I don't blame you for not wanting to go. Maybe just go right before TTC?

    The gyno doesn't really scare me, the 4th degree lacerations that can occur as a result of childbirth do. That was definitely something I could have lived without seeing!

    We were going to TTC on our honeymoon... but he has been having cold feet lately, because he wants to travel out of the country more. It's not like we're young..... I'm so bummed... how can he dump this on me now?? Argh.

    Don't be bummed!  He'll come around.  Plus, do you also think it would be nice to travel out of the country more before having children?

    We'll be 28 (me) and 31 (him) when we get married, so I understand where you're coming from.  I tend to want to do things a lot sooner than he does.  He's more of a planner and would like to have everything "just so" before moving forward with our future.  We always compromise somewhere in between.

    For instance, we got engaged in July.  I thought I wanted to get married in December.  He could have waited 2 years if I would have let him :).  We compromised on May instead.

    Elle-That sounds delicious. I had a really good Christmas bock at my friend's brother's brewery yesterday...it put me in the holiday spirit for sure.

    Yaga-I hope he did too. Good for your mom that she stopped drinking! Maybe bring something non-alcholic that you know she really enjoys?

    I'm here! I'm really glad this thread is here too, because it's the first night I've been sitting on the couch drinking in a while, and I was hoping people would be knotting.
    We just got back from shopping. Went to TJ Maxx, BabiesR'Us and Target. We got gifts for a baby shower we're going to tomorrow, and a bunch of Christmas gifts...I knocked out like 1/3 of my list at TJ Maxx for under $100.

    I'm off to catch up on the conversation thus far, and I'll be back to actually contribute to the thread.

People POO in the WATER.  *shudder* I mean, I am all for you doing what you want to do. I don't judge people who have water births AT ALL. I just know it's not for me. Or my H. He would flip his lid if I squeezed his firstborn out into poo water. We are planning to do a hospital birth and while I would ideally prefer natural b/c I know it's better for the baby, I am not at all opposed to an epidural, either if that is what I feel I need to do to find some kind of enjoyment in the process. I have a fitness program that is supposed to help me strengthen all the good pushing muscles, so that even if I do get an epidural, I will at least have some muscle memory to help with the pushing.
