    I get the whole daydreaming thing. I do, believe me.

    But at the same time, I watched my friend discuss wedding colours with her then BF for a few months before they got engaged. By the time they were engaged, she spent more time trying to pick out colours. And after 6 months of engagement, she was so sick of talking about wedding details.

    I mean, it really is a fine line. And like Desert and Goldie said, it really doesn't affect us if you plan or not. This advice really is given for a reason, because as fun and harmless as it can seem now (and it may stay that way in the future) it can get to be exhausting after a while.

    And Sunbird perfectly explained the money/saving issue that I was trying to talk about earlier but failed.

    I am holding onto a bit of hope that OP will come back, having taken some time away to think about everything that was said, and we will have converted her. She seemed like someone who could be fun to have on the board.

    OP didn't leave you forever, just in case anyone was like WE HATE HER RAWR then I could read it and cry.

    For the most part I think the advice was for someone a step ahead of me in planning. I won't stop wedding-dreaming, but I did take the advice to heart enough to not call the restaurant we're going to for my birthday the place we "would like to have it" rather than "want to have it". Progress! 

    I didn't leave the board...I actually kind of like it and know that there isn't just a line, but a whole electric fence and if I verge too far into planning I will be dead forever.
