I'm sorry to hear about Mote, but definitely keep trying...I'm big on "if at first you don't succeed, try try again." I actually didn't go to AES this year (I had M&M in August and couldn't swing both AND a honeymoon)...I'm looking into maybe next year, depending on what I could widdle down from my masters thesis. I'll definitely let you know if I end up signing up for it.
As for the wedding...just take your time and do what you can. Everything will work out, regardless of how much money you spend or how much time it takes you to spend it. :)

My favorite parts of my wedding aren't really in pictures. Other than partying with our friends and family, my number one favorite thing was having Hedwig's Theme as the song for our ceremony recessional (sorry Paige and Sapphire)! The musicians were awesome - it was even better than I expected!

Any posters you are glad to see gone? Ummm....I guess even if I'm kinda glad not to see posts from certain people, I still wish them nothing but the best.
What's the most annoying topic you see brought up on a regular basis (for example, settings, budget, diamond v. non, diamond size, non-obvious BSC stuff)? I'm going to ditto Ana on this: I also don't understand why people want to get engaged when they know they don't want to/can't get married for years (like more than 2). What's wrong with dating?
Trolls/AEs who post about pre-planning are annoying, as are legit real posters who don't read the damn sticky.
If you're married, what's the one thing no one can prepare you for until you get married? Or what's the most unexpected thing about marriage you've found so far?
To me, it's amazing how happy marriage makes me and how much my relatioship with and love for MH continue to grow.
Also, who have you met IRL from NEY?
Hetshup, Nursey, Jemini, Tiger. But I have plans to meet with some other OGs in the near future. And I've known some of my OGs so long now, and interact with them on a daily basis, so I really feel like they are IRL friends.
People may or may not remember me, but here I am haha!

I started posting about a year and a half before we got engaged, because I was MOH in a friend’s wedding.We just celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend, and are working on the babies thing.;-)

Button’s pirate wedding thread, any thread where Jeana lost her mind hahaha. A long LONG time ago, this board was run by the ladies on SB, so there were some really interesting posts then.
Did you have BSC moments when you first came to NEY?
I’m sure I did, and that’s part of why I was here.However, I made it through with no flames because I lurked and knew better than to post my BSC.
How did you suppress your BSC?
I didn’t have too many BSC moments, but the ones I did I just held it in and dealt with it.I’m not really a sharer, though Hetshup tells me regularly I need to open up more.:-P
What's the best advice someone gave you back when you were NEY that you can pass on to us now?
Enjoy your relationship where it is, for what it is.Do not rush from one step to the next. For the record, this advice comes in handy when TTC as well, and I still am constantly reminding myself of it. I have a tendency to want to rush through life to get to the next thing.
As for wedding advice:number your RSVPs, and if you plan to do a lot of DIY – START EARLY!!!

I get irritated with people who discuss diamond size.I know people who have 2+ carats, and I have 1/10 carat – everyone is equally happy and equally married to the man they love.Diamonds are one thing where I truly believe size doesn’t matter.;-)

Your family is crazy.You may not realize it until you’re planning a wedding, but they are.So is your BF/FI’s.You might as well just accept it.As for marriage, there’s not much that I’ve been surprised by, but DH and I lived together for 2 years before we were married, and nothing has changed.We went into our living situation with an eye towards treating each other as man and wife so we’d know whether it would work or not before we signed all the papers.
Where do you post now, or do you just not post at all?
I occasionally post here and on TB, but not often.I’m more of a Facebook girl, and find that most of the people here that I fell in love with while planning my wedding I can easily get in touch with there.We’ve even Google+ chatted, and it’s awesome!

I’ve only met Jeana so far, but I am looking forward to a gigantors OG GTG in 2012.:-D Google chat happened with Jeana, RickyLee, Hetshup, and Mutley.

I think it’s more awesome.Not much has changed, but it’s just nice to have gotten past the wedding.I loved planning it, but it’s nice to just sit back and be with DH and not have to worry about the wedding, or worse yet, whether he’s going to propose EVER (for those who may have heard it, I am the OG member who had the engagement ring sit on my dresser for over a year because DH didn’t think it was a big deal to leave it where I could see it).
What was your most favorite part of your wedding (other than marrying your H)?
Walking down the aisle to DH with my dad.Our first dance to Metallica.Partying with all our friends and family.Stabbing the dragon groom’s cake.There are a ton of memorable moments, and I adore them all.

I'm sorry to hear about Mote, but definitely keep trying...I'm big on "if at first you don't succeed, try try again." I actually didn't go to AES this year (I had M&M in August and couldn't swing both AND a honeymoon)...I'm looking into maybe next year, depending on what I could widdle down from my masters thesis. I'll definitely let you know if I end up signing up for it.
As for the wedding...just take your time and do what you can. Everything will work out, regardless of how much money you spend or how much time it takes you to spend it. :)
The Ph.D. is coming along...I've still got at least a year and a half to go (fingers crossed). Did my first poster presentation last week and got a hit from Wiley about publishing (cue freaking out), but I've still got a lot of lab work to do. And comps. M*therf*cking comps. ::headdesk::

My favorite parts of my wedding aren't really in pictures. Other than partying with our friends and family, my number one favorite thing was having Hedwig's Theme as the song for our ceremony recessional (sorry Paige and Sapphire)! The musicians were awesome - it was even better than I expected!

I get irritated with people who discuss diamond size. I know people who have 2+ carats, and I have 1/10 carat – everyone is equally happy and equally married to the man they love. Diamonds are one thing where I truly believe size doesn’t matter. ;-)
If you're married, what's the one thing no one can prepare you for until you get married? Or what's the most unexpected thing about marriage you've found so far?
Your family is crazy. You may not realize it until you’re planning a wedding, but they are. So is your BF/FI’s. You might as well just accept it. As for marriage, there’s not much that I’ve been surprised by, but DH and I lived together for 2 years before we were married, and nothing has changed. We went into our living situation with an eye towards treating each other as man and wife so we’d know whether it would work or not before we signed all the papers.
Where do you post now, or do you just not post at all?
I occasionally post here and on TB, but not often. I’m more of a Facebook girl, and find that most of the people here that I fell in love with while planning my wedding I can easily get in touch with there. We’ve even Google+ chatted, and it’s awesome!
Also, who have you met IRL from NEY?
I’ve only met Jeana so far, but I am looking forward to a gigantors OG GTG in 2012. :-D Google chat happened with Jeana, RickyLee, Hetshup, and Mutley.
Is being murried way more awesome than dating/being engaged? Or has not much changed?
I think it’s more awesome. Not much has changed, but it’s just nice to have gotten past the wedding. I loved planning it, but it’s nice to just sit back and be with DH and not have to worry about the wedding, or worse yet, whether he’s going to propose EVER (for those who may have heard it, I am the OG member who had the engagement ring sit on my dresser for over a year because DH didn’t think it was a big deal to leave it where I could see it).
What was your most favorite part of your wedding (other than marrying your H)?
Walking down the aisle to DH with my dad. Our first dance to Metallica. Partying with all our friends and family. Stabbing the dragon groom’s cake. There are a ton of memorable moments, and I adore them all.
