Your run-on sentences made my brain hurt..

To answer the last half of the last "sentence" I don't know if he'll propose this weekend. I haven't talked to him.

[QUOTE]My boyfriend alan soon to be fiance we have already started the planning hasnt ofically asked yet and im positive its this weekend hes so bad at keeping things lol its ok so am i. Anyway when he asked me to show him rings to get ideas theres one that really stood out to me and i showed him he asked where it was at so i told him and he was like ok i have to go to the bank to make a big purchase not suttle at all. He got home and said he was mad it was gonna take 2 and a half weeks cause he added something im thinking he engraved it. Well last night he asked me to dinner for sat or mon i said i am babysitting sat but im not sure till when but i have mon available but we do do tonight as well. He stated hes still waiting on something but its a dinner i dont want to miss. I said ok well what about sun and he said ok that is ok, i asked where we going he said to a nice restraunt like olive garden. I said ok well i dont have anything nice to wear all my dresses are in storage in the springs thats 2 hours away from here i moved in with my sister and my cousin packed all our stuff and moved to the springs and i didnt realise i left some of my clothes boxes she moved them while i was pregnant so we just shared. He said he would buy me a dress but didnt want to see it till that night. My best friend Rayanne is convinced hes gonna make it official this weekend what do you ladies think?

The fact that you think the Olive Garden is a "nice restaurant" makes my brain hurt.

    I think that:

1 -- Please believe me that you want to enjoy your night out, not be disappointed b/c your BF doesn't propose. IF and when he proposes, you want to be surprised. So, my best advice is to not get your hopes up.

2 -- I think that your posts would be easier to read, and therefore you will get more responses, if you use proper punctuation (apostrophes are your friend!) and curtail the run-on sentences.

Number 1: Puncuation is your friend. Please get acquainted.

Number 2: Olive Garden is a "nice" restaurant? Uh, OK.

Number 3: Why are you planning your wedding if he hasn't proposed yet?

Number 4: What are you going to do if this is NOT "the weekend"? Are you going to keep planning without a proposal?

Yes, yes I do. In fact, as a broke college student, I can't afford many "high class" restaurants myself.

Of course I do. "Nice" does not have to mean "high class". Just saying.

I'm just saying, maybe if you can't afford to eat out (for a special occasion) at any place nicer than the Olive Garden, you aren't financially stable enough to get married.

Olive Garden is a nice night out for my H and I. And we had no problem affording a beautiful wedding. Keep in mind that not everyone is from a large metropolitan area with lots of options.

We are but you ladies do not know the background of things right now. He makes very good money and i do well to. But as of right now he is fighting to get his daughter back. I dont find the little detials of our lives is your bussiness. We would rather spend the money on our wedding and our children. I dont really find that i want to stay on these boards. I have a very artistic sister and many of my friends and family who are happy for us that are more willingly to help than judge.

Danielle please don't get discouraged. It is a very blunt board here. I have come to realize that too. That's why they want you to lurk around to make sure you can handle it before joining in. Look Olive Garden if its a place you find romantic, so be it. Don't let anyone take that away from you. It can have a special meaning for you and your BF. Hell if you want to get proposed to at McDonalds, that's you choice.

I know first hand the feeling of getting my hopes up and then getting them crushed when it didn't happen. BUT if you feel this is the weekend and your BF laid out so many clues then good luck and congrats. If not then it'll be soon. If you and your BF have already agreed on getting married, and so now you're planning the wedding, cool you don't need a ring to make it official. But if he hasn't proposed yet then I would and I quote someone from here "slow your roll". Let things happen. Either way don't let a few blunt comments push you away, there are a lot of good advice here.

You're right - my comment was out of line, and I apologize.

But your comment about your boyfriend trying to get his daughter back raises some concerns for me. It seems that this is a stressful and trying time for you guys right now, and I would advise you to maybe focus your attention on that first rather than plan a wedding (which is stressful enough in itself).

    Here's my advice:

    1) LURK LURK LURK. You have NO idea just how brutal this place can get, so go read and find out, then come back and post.

    2) Post things on the correct board, this doesn't belong on a month board. You're not even engaged yet.

    3) Spell check, paragraphs and grammar is your friend. I still haven't read your entire post.

    4) Let your boyfriend propose in his own time and his own way. Stay out of it, it's not your place. You're pushing WAAAAY to much and you could possibly drive him away acting like that.

    5) Don't delete your posts, that is just poor form.

    6) Once again, LURK.

i have to admit, OG is "nice" to me... and i have a B.S. in computer science engineering, and a federal government job doing computer specialist software engineering and programming. heck, even chipotle is nice to me (it's a treat, we only have a couple anywhere near)... BF and i choose to live pretty close to the dave ramsey plan, and honestly, "nice" restaurants aren't very high on the list of our needs... we eat in most of the time, so going out AT ALL is "special"... and because we live this way, we have no debt except for some in his student loans, and we'll be able to put down a large cash downpayment on a house next summer.

it is a little rough around here, i admit... just try not to take it personally. :) you'll find that there are a lot of wise things said around here...

it's exciting to know that the time is getting close... i won't be getting engaged until this winter, so i can imagine how antsy you're feeling! but if it doesn't happen, i'm sure you'll have a wonderful time just going out and being with your man.

I don't judge others. Specifically cause you are not in that persons shoes. You do not know every detail of there life. I do not need to expalin myself and like i said i no longer want to use these boards. I will find somewhere else. I had the same expierence when i was pregnant some boards people were blunt as you guys say and judged and others were very excepting. So i will explore my options. My sister had used this website and liked it i however am not.
