[QUOTE]Oh man vaguebooking drives me nuts.  The only time I find it acceptable is if it's something you don't want to/can't talk about (and that's only if it's very rarely).  It drives me nuts when people think it makes them the bigger/more mature person.  Guess what. It doesn't. If mie wasn't so useful as a business tool/photo sharing with friends and family, it'd be long gone. Granted I can't hate on facebook THAT much... if it wasn't for that, FI and I never would have gotten together :) And holy crap look at my ticker. EEEE!! :)

But if you can't talk about it, why bring it up on facebook? That's so dumb to me.

That reminds me of everytime we find out through fb that my SIL has had another kid. Note I say had, cause she hides them until she's about to give birth cause she's worried about people making her give them up, and everyone posts on her wall congrats and saying what a good mom she is. Really? She's the 27 year old mother of three on welfare and has never worked a day in her life, she also never takes care of more than 2 at a time and one lives temporarily at thei granparents house until she swaps them out again. That sounds like a GREAT mom to me!
  • Feel better Dj!  Also, you being sick reminded me of a guy on public trans that had what looked like chapstick but it turned out to be Vicks and he kept sticking it into his nose every few minutes.  I was grossed out and intrigued at the same time.

Chels, that's exciting!  Are you feeling stressed yet?

I think it depends on your circle of friends?
Idk one that comes to mind is when FSIL's sister had to go in for cancer screenings (she's only like 25).  Her sister didn't want people to know what was going on until she knew for sure her results.  FSIL still posted a status asking people to pray for a "special intention" and kept it at that.
Now that I think about it, the only ones that fall into my acceptable category are ones asking for prayers even if you can't say why lol.

  • I would delete my FB but I have too many pictures saved there and downloading them and putting them on flickr would take too damned long.

Mornin' y'all! I got all judgy about DH's BFF's cash registry last night and he thought it was funny. But he doesn't want to give to it either, because there are fees deducted. I wish I could link it. Its so tacky. There is the option to pass the fees on to the gift giver, but the didn't pick that option because they thought it would be rude. This is only so funny to me because she is the EPITOME of class and is the best hostess I know. She is SO detail oriented that her wedding planner is afraid of her. I wish I could tell y'all everything, but that will have to wait until I see the final product this weekend, do see if all her stress was worth it.

  • I actually really like animal photos on facebook! Kids- on the other hand. I don't mind a few kid photos but when facebook takes the place of emails of photos/videos to the grandparents, I hate it. I have stopped being friends with a few people because their facebook is kid central.

Maybe I would feel differently if I had kids, I don't know.
  • Kate I hear you on the pics.  I sort of get it though, I mean, I don't have kids and I have a dog who is pretty much like a kid and the central focus of a lot things for me... therefore I post pics or videos sometimes.  Kids are (well, should be) the central focus of those who have them so I guess it's sort of expected that their FB page will be kid focused.  I understand WHY people do these things but that I still get annoyed sometimes.  I hope I'm not the crazy kid page lady when I have kids well in the future, but I'm sure I will be.

Two of my FB friends are married and have a baby. I don't mind them posting, and their baby is adorable. The guy's mom, on the other hand, ALWAYS had to reply something, on EVERY picture. And she tries to be funny, but she's just not. I feel bad, but I always roll my eyes at her.

My little sister just held him in the water for a few minutes so we could get some pics. I have a feeling he would love a whole day at the beach, but he'd probably end up eating sand.

BTW- we usually buy a couple 4-6 oz pieces of wild salmon. We also notice that the thicker the piece the better they hold together. Make sure your oil is to temp and if he just does a simple salmon he'll use Fishermans Wharf seasoning on both sides and he cooks each side for about 6 minutes and sometimes the end as well depending on how well you like it done in the middle.

  • Morning all.  It's been a busy week.  H and I are trying to get the house ready for a shower we are throwing two of our friends on Saturday...which turned into him wanting to completely re-do the front and back yards.  It is starting to look great, but we probably could have picked a better time to do it.

On the FB front...I just don't get when parents say Happy Birthday to little Susie or Johnny on FB.  "Happy Birthday ____, mommy and daddy love you sooooooo much!"  I've had three different friends do that this morning and their kids are one.  Seriously, they aren't going to be reading that.
