confessions?

Re: confessions?

• And that wasn't really a confession, I just didn't want to start a new thread. I'm shy that way.
• I'm really fortunate that she can come so often. Next week she's helping us get the house cleaned for Thanksgiving. But then I get irritated with her and feel guilty since she's so good to us. Ah, mother daughter love.

• aside from the glaring issue of spaking a 2 month old, I'm mostly offended by the amount of times the word "hubby" was used in that post.
• I got some cake.

• mulva- I'm surprised. You're smart, you should know better than that. I thought it was just a given that while some people can't afford it, everyone knows that for SOME foods (not ALL), it is definitely the healthier option. I'm afraid to watch Food, Inc but I definitely believe the premise. I'll just stick with my organic meats/fruits/veggies/dairy and not have my son have ball hair at 7 yrs old, thanks.
• I'm mostly offended by the amount of times the word "hubby" was used in that post. THANK you.
• "How so, Mulva? I'm just curious." No real good reason. I just think there isn't that much difference in organic spaghetti sauce and prego. I think it's all bullsh*t marketing geared at getting trendy suckers to overpay.
• I'm butthurt that last night my brother told me his family won't be coming to my house on Christmas Eve like they've been doing for the past 3 years because he and my SIL can't stand my H's niece and don't want their daughter's around her.  Granted she is a huge pia but it's Christmas!  you can't put up with her for a few hours once a year?  so now we'll probably end up going to their house Christmas day and having everyone else at our house Christmas eve.

• The "hubby" thing stood out to me too.  If I was pissed at my H, I don't think I'd refer to him as "hubby".I think the calls for anger management classes and counseling are a bit over the top.

• My mom has threatened to stay with us after the baby is born to 'help'.  I started to flip out because my mom is so not helpful, but then I remembered that she said the same thing with my sister and ended up being too busy to stay with sis and BIL to help.

• I think the calls for anger management classes and counseling are a bit over the top. I don't know about that. It wasn't like he was trying to discipline his son or anything, it seemed he was striking in anger. He should probably work on finding a better outlet for that. While I'm posting random crap in this thread, apparently Balloon Boy's parents pleaded guilty.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091113/ap_on_re_us/us_balloon_boy
• "I'll just stick with my organic meats/fruits/veggies/dairy and not have my son have ball hair at 7 yrs old, thanks." No, I do think there is probably some truth to the preservatives and steriods in food having adverse affects (llke ball hair on a 4 yr old), but I think that it is mostly generally a by-product of how much pre-packaged, pre-made, stays-good-for-10yrs type stuff we eat. A socieity on the run, if you will. But, you know, i'm no chemist. just opinionated.
• Really Cali? I think spanking a 2-month-old hard enough for it to cry is pretty fuccked up.

• "I think the calls for anger management classes and counseling are a bit over the top." generally, i might agree since the "get counseling" card gets thrown for the dumbest reasons, BUT something ain't right when you hit a 2 mo old. Something down deep inside.
• repost:I saw this at Nordstrom yesterday and LOOLLEd.http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/6025925/0~2378467~2378483~6025924~6025925?origin=newmoonYuk.Also, the spanking a two month old is a gigantic effing red flag to me.  I've had a few moments in the last 17 months where I've lost my temper and had to walk away for a minute, but actually acting on it shows she doesn't know what her husband is capable of.

• My brother and sister bailed on me at the last minute for the execution on Tuesday. I'm overly angry at them about it, but have yet to voice my opinion.  So I had to go alone with my parents, thank goodness my father went in with my mom.  So I had to sit alone for about an hour in a prison.  Talk about fun times.

You were there?

• Who got executed?
image Ready to rumble.
• Yep.  My uncle was Sonny Buchanan.
• Mulva, you just contradicted yourself. I have no idea what your point is, just that you have an opinion.Synthetic hormones and antibiotics in our meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy is the scariest part for me as a biologist. That's what I'm going to focus on for our kids re: organic eating during their developing years. The thought of pesticides and preservatives grosses me out but scientifically I have less of a problem with them. The spanking thing: holy shiiit. I don't think the calls for therapy are out of line.I had something else I wanted to confess and now I forget what it was.

• The DC Sniper John Allen Muhammad.
• Oh wow. I'm so sorry. So you went to the execution? If I may ask, what was it like?

• I blame my tiny boobs on that damn organic food.

• i am also glad tsd is back, she's been cracking me up lately. also, random, but i am appalled that the mortgage loan debt to income ratio limit is 48%. in what world would this EVER be possible to survive. the average person is probably getting roughly 30% taken out for taxes. then you add on 401k, and health insurance (and other misc.) and by that time you have like 15-20% of your income left. how does one pay all their bills and still have enough to eat? it just boggles my mind. and kind of reminds me of that lady who lives on 1k a month. craziness.

• Maybe I'm just thinking of what was considered a spanking in my house.  My parents never really hit us very hard.  And I'm imagining a baby wearing a diaper....I guess I'm just visualizing some light smacks on the diaper, so that's probably the wrong perception.  Yes, it's foffed up that he would do that.  But I guess I'm thinking he's just too stupid to realize the kid is too young to understand discipline than him striking the kid out of anger or something.  I guess I'm putting him in the "completely clueless that kids don't eat pizza and require neck support" category over the "angry child abuser" category.

• Eville, you talked about this before, right? Your mom was insistent on going and no one could talk her out of it or something.I'm sorry for your loss, and for the fact that you had to sit in a prison for an hour. Not fun.

• If my husband hit our 2 month year old there would be a lot more repercussions than me suggesting counseling.
• Stupidity/ignorance is no excuse to hit a kid.

• I remember my other confession!I love my brother's girlfriend. I honestly hope this is young love that somehow makes it (they're 22 and 21, have been together 2 years) and that my brother gets his shiit together and gets a job soon and moves out of my parents' house. That's beside the point.ANYWAY, I love his girlfriend. She's sweet and kind and funny. She recently decided to go vegan, though, and it's irritating me. I don't know why.
