Re: confessions?

• I was prattling on about hating vests and then my mom and I bought this one yesterday. And the matching snow boots.I think there will be enough hair for a barrette by age 3.

• Look at Maggie's toofs!  I love the outfit.
• Kristen, my mom scotch taped a bow to my head for my 1st birthday party because I had no hair. But then I had glorious hair for awhile: http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/206/10/552885585/n552885585_2116866_3704.jpgThen it turned dishwater blonde. Blerg.

• Maggie is so cute!!  And I like vests too, so there.

• I remember that pic, Breck baby! I think Maggie's hair will be dark blonde like Mike's then become brown.

• i find kid hair to be very confusing. Liza has hair , but it's really fine and hard to contain w/ a barrette. I feel like it is all in her face. I am confused whether she is supposed to have a haircut, or what. Do I let it grow? do I cut it so it's out of her face? the right side of the back is longer than the left. Do I cut it to be even? It's one of the most confusing parts of motherhood for me thus far.
• I think it's all personal preference. Some people get all sentimental about not cutting a baby's hair until a certain age or length. Me, the second Maggie's mullet comes in, I'm getting it trimmed up.
image Ready to rumble.
• Hm. Good call. I'm not remotely sentimental, I just don't know what is appropriate styling.
• I'm confused about baby hair too.  Ian's hair is really long at the nape of his neck and the back of his head, and it gets all wild, yet people are insistent about not cutting it.  I wouldn't cut it now anyway, but I don't see the big deal.
• If you have one of those cutesy kids' cuts salons nearby, take her there. They can make her look nice and even. And I think there's just a point in their hair growth where it's bound to be in their face.

• Lagolly, did you mention what you have been doing to try to lose weight? Are you maintaining your weight? WW didnt seem to work for me personally but I think it's a great program to at least try. Plain ol' calorie counting is what did it for me. I can maintain weight without paying much attention, but to lose weight I really had to be strict about calories. I am all for organic foods, but eating organic won't have any effect on weight loss necessarily. You probably already know that, you just mentioned it a few times and it jumped out to me. Kristen such a cute picture and that is a great color on her. Does anyone else think she and noodie could pass for siblings?
image Guess who?
• Spanking a 2 month old is crazy. Eating organic may make me a sucker but I'm ok with that.  I love supporting local farmers and I really try to stay away from any outside hormones.  I haven't been on any hormone BC of any kind for 10 years, and try not to take antibotics or even asprin unless I absolutely have to.    I'm a freak like that.Eville, sorry to hear about your losses.

• Aww Maggie is so pretty in her puffy vest!  She has so much hair now!  I guess the follicles finally were able to push through her giant brain.Come to think of it, she and FBM could totally pass as siblings.

• I confess I brokeup with my "best friend" because she didn't come to my baby shower, she called 5 min before she was supposed to meet me and explained that she was to hung over. This was after she called a week before that telling me she couldn't afford a gift. To which I responded "It's not about the gift its about having you there to be apart of this milestone in my life" she then asked me if I wanted to go out to a bar with her...7 months pregnant. I have no regrets.
• fent- yeah, i believe it does, but i was just talking about the average joe. although, i just looked online and im finding percentages will vary from 35-45% so i guess that makes more sense (35% i mean, 45% is still playing with fire, imo). i dont know why ive heard higher (from 4 different mortgage people, too) but i just found it a little scary that some people can or would attempt to make that work. and im just shocked that banks are still willing to take that risk.and  i

• The standard we use in my field for the "average joe" to spend on housing is 30% or less of monthly income.

• Fifty:  I have been tracking calories and never eat more than 1400 unless it's some special occassion.  I also walk about 2 hours a day and was doing P90X until I got sick.  It's been about 3 week of no p90X and I was on week 5.  I know eating organic won't help me lose weight, but it does eliminate most junk food.  I can maintain this wieght even if I up the calories and stop working out but no matter what I do, I can't lose it.

• "WW didnt seem to work for me personally but I think it's a great program to at least try. Plain ol' calorie counting is what did it for me. " this made me laugh b/c WW is just that... calorie counting/portion control.
• I really wanted a Mrs. Fields cookie cake for my birthday. But the closest Mrs. Fields is 30 miles away. Sure I could just request a grocery store cookie cake, but a huge part of my love for the Mrs. Fields cake is the cavity-causing frosting they use. I love it so.So, instead I requested and Entenmann's Crumb Cake because I love those too and haven't had one in years.

• confession: I nearly fell out in laughter when my secretary (who is a serious eater.. like it's the office joke b/c all she does is eat) went to grab something out of her pocket, and 2 packets of mustard fell out.
• I don't think I have time to read all of this right now, but I also had an AFSB dream last night! We were having a GTG, and Bethie had lost a ton of weight and was stick-skinny, and showed up in a gold lame (put an accent on that) hot pants and tube top. she said she was never planning on wearing anything but similar outfits ever again b/c this was the best way to show off her hot new bod. the reason we were all getting together was b/c I'd just had a baby. Except I wouldn't come downstairs and show everyone the baby b/c it was hideously ugly. Not like, Fallin thinks newborns aren't cute- straight up ugly. No chin, a big weird head, and bad teeth- all yellow and crooked with a big space in between each one. I was head over heels in love with the kid, but I knew it was ugly as sin so I was just going to keep it hidden. And I told it so.the end. and I confess that I think of things during the week that would make a good confession, and then by the time I get to a confession thread, I can't remember a single one.

• What did you use to calculate 1400? You need to lose 10 lbs? I use the bmr formula to come up with my number to lose weight. It comes to 1290, which is probably a little low given my body type and composition, but it seems to be the sweet spot for weight loss. I am 3-4 lbs from my ideal weight so my weight loss calorie number is pretty low. I would again say WW is most definitely worth trying. I wish it had worked for me, I liked using the online program.
image Guess who?
• Ali, that's a NIGHTMARE.

• confession: I nearly fell out in laughter when my secretary (who is a serious eater.. like it's the office joke b/c all she does is eat) went to grab something out of her pocket, and 2 packets of mustard fell out. Our former office manager was the same way, and she kept a basket of ketchup packets on her desk.  WTF?
• I used the Spark people caculator, I never go past 1400 but I try to stay more like 1200-1300.  Do I need to lose 10 pounds?  I don't know.  I want to lose 10 pounds.

• Gosh if only I had done ww before and knew how it worked. It's not calorie counting, it's points counting. And it was either over or under estimating what I needed, especially while training this summer.
image Guess who?
• I used the Sparkpeople calculator and it didn't work for me either.  Everything was within range with the exception of fat (I wasn't always able to get it to the minimum required amount).

• TSD! LOL!Sparkpeople didn't work for me either, which is why I went to WW online to begin with. Dawg, check with your insurance company for WW deals. They waived my registration fee and it was pretty cheap for the monthly pass. I did online only, no meetings. I'll start up again after the holidays.
