  • I hope it's a good thing!  I don't usually reply direct to OP.  I'm always late to the party, so I post in reponse to the side convo's that get started.

I seem to be the last to post in some threads that are active right until I post.  I must be a thread killer.  If you want to get rid of a troll, just have me post and the thread will die.  Ha ha.

I work for a paper company.  So the short version of "I work in tranportation" is that I find trucks to haul our loads of toilet paper.

It does sound like we have a lot in common.  Have you spent any time on the Wisconsin board?  I don't go over there very often because it's pretty quiet.
  • You can't buy alcohol anywhere within the county, but you can bring it in from another county. You can drink it in your home, but it's technically illegal to distribute it to others. Of course, no one patrols every party to enforce that. But, since we can't fit everyone at our home, we can't have alcohol since the venue can't provide or serve it.

Fortunately, most of our guests are from dry counties or are at least familiar with the concept of dry counties, so it won't really be a problem. I guess it's probably a mostly Southern thing.

Just curious - how far do you have to drive to buy alcohol?
  • Joll, no, the last couple times I've posted for a rec on the WI board I haven't even gotten a response.  It seems like most of the posters are around the MKE area.  Now I want to ask you which paper company you work for, but that would be bad internet boundaries.

Latini, that's interesting.  We love our booze too much in the midwest to have such things and dry counties.

  • Hi there!  I'm J, who are you?
Hi, J!  I'm B.  Nice to meet you.

Tell us about yourself.  And your FI.  And how you met.  And when your wedding is.
My H and I are both in our mid-twenties.  We like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.  We're not much into health food, but we're into champagne.

We met when we were both in high school.  He got a job at the grocery store I work in and I was told to train him.  I got into a lot of trouble that week for spending all of my working time at his register under the guise of him needing more help.

Who's your favorite?  Who do you wish we'd fly to whore island?
I like: J&K, Cew, Tide, Kd, Sucrets, this list could go on and on.

I'd send Cew to whore island because I think she'd have the most fun there.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Oh, plenty of people like their booze around here! I worked for a lawyer some in high school, and they made moonshine in the back.

I think it's a combination of A)  a largely Southern Baptist constituency and B) an old law that no one cares enough about to change.

  • See, I think flying to whoreisland sounds awesome. In that case I would take B and J. HA! I just noticed what that spells.
  • Well...someone should change it!  Are there a lot of snakes and lizards and frogs and creepy crawly things in TN?

Hi B!  I think Cew would enjoy whore island too.  As long as she stays away from the vag garden.

I think this I a really intresting observation, not because I noticed this happening to you specifically, but because I felt like that always happened to me when I first started posting. I have heard other newbs say it too. I wonder if it is because of the newb thing or because the responses newbs tend to give are more standard than things requring probing and a response? I don't really know, but it is interesting to me.

  • Snakes-- yes. Copperheads mostly. Nasty little bastards.

    Lizards-- not really.

    Frogs-- a few.

I think our climate here is too harsh for most cold-blooded animals; REALLY hot in the summer, pretty cold in the winter. I think we've been in a heat advisory for over a week now, and in the winter, our lows are generally in the single digits.

  • This seems to be a safe place to come out, so here I come!!!

Hi, I'm Holly and I'm getting married next fall. Ive been lurking on this board and on the Etiquette board since I got engaged a few months ago. You guys are all so funny and smart!

My fiance and I have been together for 5 years. We met the summer after we graduated high school and have been together ever since! He proposed on Valentines Day this year, and it was sooo perfect.

I really like Laurenclaire, Amoro, J&K, Shelly, Rachnrich and Nebb. I don't like the new girls who ask dumb questions!! LOL its funny to see them put in there place.

Ah, I see you're getting married on 9-10-11.  Any reason?

Also, way to be the only lurker who knows the best way to suck up is to name me as one of their favorites.

  • BONUS QUESTION!

How do you feel about the movie Fargo?

    image
Everything the light touches is my kingdom.
  • I'll play too!

I'm a boutique manager and FI is an artist (painter). We are getting married on Oct 22nd (holy crap, it's getting close!) Oddly enough we actually met in a club - odd because he is a total homebody and  rarely goes out, especially to clubs (he was actually only there for a private party for another artist). Luckliy, I've grown out of that phase myself.

As far as favorites, they include Roxy, Nebb, Ricks, and Betrothed to name a few...
Blue's responses used to rub me the wrong way sometimes, but no so much anymore. There are definitely some posters on E too that I could live without!

    Happy Saturday!

LOL, I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I've never seen that movie. Is that a requirement to be a regular on this board?
