Its only illegal to text in a school zone here. Gov. Rick Perry decided that outlawing texting while driving was infringing on the rights of consenting adults... to kill other adults and children but that is beside the point. WTG Gov. Fuckwad!

It is illegal now to text while driving, and drivers under 18 cannot use their phones at all. I heard they want to make talking without a hands-free device against the law here in MA too, but I don't know where they are with that.
The seatbelt thing irritates me to no end. Yes, I put my children in carseats/booster seats with seatbelts in the car. They are children. But I don't think it's up to the government to decide whether or not I wear my seatbelt. I'm not putting anyone else is danger by not wearing it.

Blue, please stop reading my mind :)
[QUOTE]I guess my Unop is that I dont think texting or talking on the phone while driving should be illegal. Nor do I think you should be required to wear a seatbelt.

Blue: doing it right since 2009.
Not that I agree :) But this is definitely an UNPOP OP.
[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I judge / unpop ops : You do know that you are the only person on this board who could EVER get away with saying that right, lol.

[QUOTE]I judge people who ignore the "The store is closing in 5 minutes" announcements we do at the end of the night at work. I want to go home, damnit. I've been here for 8 hours, I don't get paid if you decide to stay late to look for "just one" more clearance DVD. You've been here for 20 minutes. If you didn't find something yet, come back to morrow and try again. For right now, GTFO!

When I worked at CVS in college, we had this elderly lady who we called "10 of 10" because that was the time she came in EVERY NIGHT -- ten minutes before closing. Didn't matter that we had just announced that we only had 10 minutes left, she'd take her cart and fill the damn thing up to the top, picking her way through every aisle. And then -- like clockwork -- she'd remember something she forgot just as we were finishing ringing her sale, and go back and get it. Drove us all insane.
