To everyone, what is the one thing that drives you crazy about your FI or spouse?

His allergy to cleaning. Dirty dishes? He can't see them. Empty cans or bottles? They go on the counter, not the recycle bin. Tracked in dirt? It will magically disappear. So annoying.

And, I'd rather have a boy. After the shiit I've been through, I would be the world's worst helicopter parent to a girl trying to protect her from the world. And if she ever became like the trashy girls I see at my mom's school, I'd have to slap some sense into her. I imagine boys being easier, but then again, my brother was a pain in the ass so I know that's not necessarily true.

Also, I totally misread the parents one.  I thought it was who you like more.  I'm a lot like my mother, more so now than before.  I used to be a lot like my dad, and in some ways still am, but more mom.  I think I look more like my mom.

Both of my Grandmothers were SAHM. My paternal Grandfather worked for Dow chemical for years and was also a sheriff's deputy of a small (at the time) town in Michigan. He was the youngest of 17 and his parents passed in an accident when he was 6. Nobody in the family could care for him, so he ended up being raised by the family on the next farm over. All of his siblings were working through school or working on local farms to feed their own families. His oldest sibling was almost 23 years older than him.

My maternal Grandfather was an odd jobs kind of guy. My mom remembers him selling soap on a rope for a long time. He was a door to door salesman for anything he could sell. He had a different item for each day of the week and would hit the same houses in the neighborhood each day with a different item, then he would go to the next neighborhood on Monday and start all over again. He also worked as a projector man in a movie theatre for a while. He was one of three boys in his family. Two of which ended up being Gay and each had two gay sons of their own. This is why I believe it's nature over nurture. None of them came out until they were much older. This is the reason my Grandfathers name is dead. There will be no more males with his last name in our bloodline. None of my moms cousins had children and my one uncle only has a step-daughter, and he is a closet gay as well.

    Wow, that got long. Sorry

    Sesh, I say your dad.

Furthest from home:  Honolulu. After that, Utah.

    I think I look a lot like my mom's sister (this was 2005 - that's Andy as a baby)

My baby brother. This was the day I got engaged, but before it happened. And he looks just like my dad.

Sesh - I agree, you look like your mom but w/your dad's smile.

The farthest I've been from home was when I vacationed in Scotland. I've lived in Honolulu, Kodiak, Alaska and Miami, though, and those are pretty darn far from Seattle too.

For everyone:  what's the best vacation you've ever taken?
I went to Jamaica last fall - my first vacation ever. I don't think that anything will measure up that because there were just so many "firsts" on that trip. But there are lots of places I'd like to travel.

Which parent am I most like?
I am 100% like my mom. I see it in my face all the time and my mannerisms, the things I say to my kids, my voice, etc. It's actually kind of nice, I lost her 6 years ago and it's nice to get these little glimpses of her.

I look most like whichever parent I'm standing nearest.  I have my mom's nose and hair and eye color, my dad's mouth and eye shape and skin tone, and one ear from each.

Here's us 2 summers ago at my friend's wedding:

ETA: I'm a personality split between the two as well.

Also, everyone in my mom's family is between 5'3" and 5'5".  So I get my height from her side.

Card, you definitely look like your mom in those pics.

I look just like my mom when we were both kids, we could have been twins. But now, it's more in our mannerisms. Our voices also sound identical and if I'm home, I can answer the phone and fool the other person into thinking it's her. Which we do quite often because it's fun.

I actually look like my uncle, my dad's brother. And oddly enough, my brother acts just like another uncle, my dad's other brother. So both kids take after my dad's side of the family. I'm just glad I didn't get their noses, they all have big ones and I got off lucky there.

Worst injury: flipped through a storm-glass door when I was 5 and have over 140 stitches in my shoulder and arm.  The messed up part about the whole things is I very vividly remember every bit of it, even them stitching me up in the ER.  They couldn't put me under since I was so young and in shock that I could've slipped into a coma, so they could only give me a local and I watched the doctor stitch my shoulder closed with black thread....now THAT is badass IMO, lol.

Middle Name: is Marie, which is my Aunt and Grandmother's middle name too.

Favoritve Vacation: I suck, lol.  I haven' really been anywhere exciting but the beach is my favorite place to be.

Which parent am I like the most:  Definitely my mom....she is silly as can be and the absolute smartest woman I know.  My dad is pretty kick-ass too though  :)

Middle Name: Lyn. Most people try to spell it with 2 N's which pisses my Mother off so much. She insists she spelled it with one N for a reason.

Grandparents: Both grandmas were SAHMs. Paternal grandfather was a drunk who just worked whatever small jobs he could find. Maternal grandfather was a pharmacuetical salesman. He seems similar to AATBs grandma. When my mom was a little kid, she thought there were struggling for money because they practically had to beg for a new pair of shoes or underwear or whatever. But grandpa had a feeling he'd die young of a heart attack like all the other men in his family. So he'd been secretly saving money and lying to grandma about how much he made. He did end up dying at 40 when my Mom was 18. He'd told grandma right before he died to start looking for the money. She found 200K in the house and another 200K in the bank. However, since she'd lived her whole life always not having money to spend, she didn't know how to spend money wisely. It didn't last particularly long.

Worst injury: I’ve been lucky in this department *knock on wood*. Worst was a fractured wrist in 2nd grade.

Middle name: I used to not dig it, but now I’ve learned to love my name start to finish. Plus my middle name is after my mom’s late cousin who was like a sister to her, so that’s nice.

Anywhere in the world: I really like NJ honestly. I would like in Boston if it weren’t so cold though. Our families are in NJ though and I wouldn’t want to move away from them.

Grandparents: My mom’s dad was a doorman at a fancy apartment building in Manhattan. My mom’s mom was one of the first female paralegals in NJ. Both were one of 3 children each with two siblings of the opposite gender.  My dad is orphan, I don’t know much about his parents.

Best Vacation: in 2007 J and I went on a cruise to Bermuda and the Bahamas, it was our first (and so far only) real vacation together. This will hopefully soon be replaced by our honeymoon
    J

Which parent am I like: My mom. I am her clone for one, we look exactly the same and we have very similar personalities. I’m ok with both these things.

FI drives me crazy: J is a crazy bag lady deep down inside. She will bring things home in bags and put them somewhere. I will ask her to put them away and she’ll simple move the bag to another location. She has issues letting go of bags.

How we met: online via a gay personals site.

Everyone: Ever dealt with a disaster? Fire, tornado, hurricane, mudslide, earthquake etc?

I was in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. My little brother slept through it. I think that's what spawned my fear of major natural disasters. I have a weird fascination with watching videos of tornados or tidal waves or major thunderstorms, but that's because I'm scared of them. Even photos of angry thunderheads rolling in freak me out.

I was a mess during my meteorology class. Yell
