Yes, the people who work here are here to make sure you have a good time, but they're not your servants. Telling someone to go get you "some fruit from somewhere because the money this trip cost is keeping you in a job" is not the way to treat someone. Disgusting.Posted by september's brideo_oSomeone actually said that? Posted by cfaszews25
Yeah. I was absolutely speechless. I know there are ignorant people in the world, but this was beyond me. And this woman made the comment because the guy working here said that there was no fruit at the pool bar for snacks, just stuff for blending drinks and for garnishes. Wtf! We're at an allinclusive resort. She could have walked her ignorant ass 50ft to get her own fruit. Ugh.

In that vein, then driving should be made illegal, because allowing people to drive at all is discriminating against those who are blind. I'm judging my coworker who has zero sense of how to dress in an office. Last week it was a dress that was so short that one small breeze would have revealed ladybits. This weeks it's blouse/cardigan sets so small that there is a good ring of flesh between shirt and pants. Everyone else can dress professionally... what's your deal?

<div>Yep.  Then she had the balls to call me a bad deaf person because I didn't agree.  I promptly left that conversation.</div><div>
</div><div>And your flame reminds me of one of the job coaches at my old job.  Not only did she dress exactly like you described (on the job sites with people she was coaching), which is obviously a horrible model for appropriate work attire.  But she would sometimes interpret for clients during job interviews (she is hearing, clients were all deaf) and openly admitted that she changed what clients said while interpreting to make them look better.  1) it's not appropriate for her to BE interpreting in the first place since it's not her role and she's not a certified interpreter.  2). WTF?!  She admitted this during a staff meeting, and her supervisor and our executive director both LAUGHED and moved on. </div>

  • Holy ishballs, I hardcore judge anyone who felt "betrayed" by the HG movie because they realized Rue was black.  There are tons of people that are being all racist because they fell in love with her character in the book and didn't realize she was black, even though the book says she was "dark skinned".  One person apparently even complained that they cried for her in the book when she died and feels ashamed she did so now that they realized she's black... O_O
  • SEWF, I have so many judges from when I worked at the zoo. People check their common sense at the front gate. Feeding the giraffes Skittles, going behind the "authorized personnel only" gate to press themselves up against the bear fence, letting their kids throw toys in to the bonobos. I thought I hated people before working at the zoo, but no, working there made it worse.

I saw this yesterday! Those people are morons. And racists. I don't get why the color of her skin has anything to do with the emotions they felt for her in the book or movie. All of the people who felt 'betrayed' should probably just DIAF.

  • Going along with my train theme:

I judge a woman on my train who literally seems to RACE me everytime I go to get on.  She jumps in her seat and then proceeds to look at me all smugly.  Dude, I didn't want that seat, good for you for looking like a fool.

I also judge people having very personal conversations on the train.  I swear, I know more about the "strangers" on the train then I do my own stinkin' family half the time.

And if you really need an extra band to fabric to cover your stomach/muffin top/whatever, you are buying the wrong size.

  • I always thought Rue was black so I was surprised that people were so shocked by it. And even more surprised by the backlash. People suck.

People also felt "betrayed" that Katniss' hair was dark brown rather than black and her skin wasn't "olive toned." FFs, people. You weren't betrayed. No one owed you jack shiit to begin with. Get over yourself.

I think people get in denial about what size they are.  For real.  I have a friend who refuses to buy clothes that fit her because she thinks it will help her lose weight so they fit her better.  Well, it's not working for her.

I was bridesmaid dress shopping with her a few months ago and she's always making comments about my weight.  I told the consultant that she'd need to put me down for a size 8 or a 10.  My friend is like "Oh whatever.  You're like, a 4."  Um.  Okay.  Well, I prefer to buy something I know will fit, but thanks for that...
Yesterday, when I first heard about the racial Hunger Games stuff, when I just read the headline that people were upset about racial casting in it, my first thought was that people were going to feel that having the African American district be the only ones shown rioting was a problem. Then when I read what stupid ignorant people were saying I wanted to beat them up. (Not really) Even if the book hadn't described her as dark-skinned, really?

  • I always pictured Rue as a little black girl, but not Thresh.  I havent seen it yet, but the actor playing Thresh is built exactly like I pictured him, so I didnt even think twice that he was black.  He is a pretty intense actor and from his pics, his face is real intense.  I thought he was perfect when I saw the pics.

On the HG stuff, I read about that yesterday and man that is fuucked up. That plus the story about the neighborhood watch man who shot the young kid in Florida was me troubled.
