I'm jealous that you have a fair today! I love those kind of things. Plus I wouldn't hate a funnel cake!

Normal Friday for me. I'm going to go on a long walk on base in a little bit and then spend the day washing H's uniforms and finally clipping coupons. I'm not sure when I became such a housewife??

To everyone who has big things going on today- I'm thinking about you guys.

Im already sick of people freaking talking about starwars today, dumbest day ever.

We slept with the windows open lastnight and it was so blissful, its been getting too cool at night lately to do it but its finally warm enough. Sleeping with the window open is just about my favourite thing ever. Thats all I really have to say today, cause my legs hurt and my shoulder hurts and im tired lol.
  • Nebb- I love that too but I doubt there will be many times we can do that down here. Maybe December? But that's probably it.

  • Good morning and good luck to all that have big things happening today!

Thanks goodness it's Friday!  After work H and I will probably go grab dinner then tomorrow I'm getting a hair cut and after we're going to see The Avengers.  H is like a little kid on Christmas about this movie so hopefully it's as good as he wants it to be.

    Have a great day, ladies!

  • Morning. I love fairs and fair food. I do not love sleeping with the window open. I'm too afraid of people coming in and scalping me or something.

I hurt a lot today, in both arms/wrists/fingers. Working too much this week, I guess. I need to do my massages, but they hurt because my forearms are so inflamed. Just pressing a finger down on them hurts and makes my fingers tingly.

I was reading the end of the irritations thread and was surprised by the king bed hate. I love our king bed, I don't like being touched while I sleep so it's perfect being able to cuddle with H, then roll over and pass out.
  • Sesh- I didn't read that. I freaking love our king bed. I'd never go back to a smaller one.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Sesh I hope you get to feeling better, that sounds awful. Also, anyone else that had something important today, sorry I missed you on my OP.

  • Morning! I slept like crap and woke up in a foul mood. Everything is pissing me off today.

This weekend is going to be crazy. Today and tomorrow there is a festival near us so traffic is utterly screwed. We won't be able to move our car for days. It's one I really like though and we're probably going tonight. They have these things I have only seen here which are basically a peppermint stick stuck in a lemon and you suck the juice up the stick. They're really good.

Tomorrow is the Kinetic Sculpture Race (link). We'll be watching that from a friend's restaurant.

Sunday we're doing a kidney fundraiser walk at the local zoo. I've never actually been to the zoo before so I am pretty excited. We're also invited to a party that afternoon but I think we'll be ready to drop by then.

There is also a faerie festival and a blood drive at the stadium we wanted to do this weekend but just can't fit in. Our summers are always action packed but this is ridiculous.

oh oh oh!! I thought of something else thats awesome. I saw a tweet yesterday about our market (its open tuesday/thursday/saturday) -- local asparagus is finally available!!! Im totally planning to wake up early tomorrow and head down to get me some.
  • I love you Nebb, but I'm totally jazzed about Star Wars Day, so Tongue out:

H and I watched Return of the Jedi last night and had pizza & beer (our day off from working out since I was so brain-fried from my exam yesterday morning). Tonight we're going running, then we're going to watch Fanboys, after that we'll get dressed up for our May the 4th party that we're going to in Ft. Lauderdale. There's going to be music, a bulesque show, a body painter, and a suspension light sabre battle. I'm pretty stoked.

Not much else going on this weekend. To cut down on expenses we've agreed to only go out one night per weekend, so tomorrow night will be spent at home. Tacos, Corona, and margaritas.

Our bedroom is on the 2nd floor and I think if someone was that hardpressed to climb in any of our upstairs windows (which are all usually open) then they would have found some way in regardless.

I skimmed the night thread this morning and I have to say I think Nebb has excellent taste in men. I love me some Brits. I had so much fun ogling men in London. Unfortunately I wasn't single at the time though so all I could do was look.

I love sleeping with the windows open too but our current apartment is too loud for that. Normal traffic noise I can handle but there are a lot of loud people in our neighborhood with no sense of common courtesy.

    lol thank you
  • Oh, yeah, celtic reminded me. I wanted to add that James McAvoy (sp?) is oddly sexy for a little dude. He hardly even has muscles but he's still hot. Even as a faun.

H wants to save up and get one of those fancy beds, Tempur-Pedic or however you spell it. I agree that he needs one, but after all the BS with our bed (getting it in, fixing it, etc), I don't wanna deal with a new one right now. We can't afford it anyway, so he's stuck with the crappy bed for now.
  • We really want a sleep number bed but that's just not happening anytime soon. FH thinks beds should feel like concrete and I disagree. The mattress we have now is only 3 years old but it got battered during some moves up tight stairs so it's not super comfortable.

I think it's funny bed size was discussed in the night thread after I left. As I was laying in bed trying to sleep last night I was thinking how a queen was the perfect size bed. Until a storm scared our dog and he crawled in bed with us.

  • Sesh we have a queen tempur pedic and we LOVE it. I find that it's impossible to sleep well anywhere else now though. We had a king hotel bed a few weeks ago and the size did not make up for comfort. FWIW, I typically stay in one spot throughout the night because it's so comfortable so extra space isn't needed.

Happy Friday! I slept like complete and total SHIIT. I stayed on the couch so J could sleep and my hips are killing me. But he woke me up covering me in kisses and thanking me for letting him sleep alone. FML. I'm going to crawl up into Chloe's loft bed with her, I guess, until we buy a king size bed. I'm so sad. There's no way I can afford the same kind of mattress I have for the queen bed now, and I love that damn mattress.

On a happier note, we are boozing it up after work today in the office, and I cannot wait. We are having a Derby party so I brought all my hats!

Good luck today, Blue and Raynes!

    Morning.

I have a work vent (already).  We have dedicated voicemail lines that don't ring anything.  So if I were to give you my direct # or if you look up my # and call me you'd always get voicemail, and I'd never get any indication that there was a message waiting for me.  In our main office we also have shared lines.  Five people share one phone line that rings and has an answering machine.  But we're seldom in our main office, we move around all the time, I've been in three different places this week alone.  It's crazy.  We need VOIP or something that notifies us that there's a message.

Also, I don't even know how to check my dedicated voicemail, and I've never set up a message on it.  This is why we always tell people to e-mail us.

This all stems from an angry e-mail I got this morning saying "I'm following up on the TWO voicemails I've left you."
  • I sponsor the prom every year and today is our last day of ticket sales (it's a week from tomorrow).  Here are some stories I thought some of you ladies might enjoy....

    1.  The boy who is not currently sitting with his date.  He seemed to think he could just pulled chairs up at the table he wanted to sit at and we told him no, so he asked us to put him at table #whatever.  Well, a spot opened up at that table so I called him down and asked him if he wanted us to move his date to that table.  "Nah.  I'd rather sit at table #awesome."  "What about your date?"  "She can stay at her table."

    2.  Football boy comes and asks for a refund because he's going to Junior College Town, TX that weekend to visit the campus and maybe play football there.  We ask him if he bought two and the response was, "Yeah, but my girlfriend and I kind of broke up."  So, we call her down and we ask her how she's going to handle her ticket since exBF bought it for her and we want to refund him his money.  "Well, it's his mom's money and I shouldn't have to pay for my own ticket now because I'm special."  I told her that the right thing to do is to pay for her own ticket especially since she wouldn't want to be indebted to her ex if he is the jerk she says he is.  The little friend tells her as they're walking away, "It's okay.  They don't know they're wrong."

  • Pirate, that's a weird set up. Our voicemail turns into an email and shows up in Outlook. That's the only way I check it.

So I washed a whole new bottle of Sparky's lotion with his clothes the other night. The laundry smelled when I was going to put it in the dryer, so I washed it again, and the smell got stronger. It was new lotion, so I didn't recognize the smell. This morning, there was a white film on the door of the washer, and the open bottle was sitting right there on top of the clothes. So now I'm washing them AGAIN! Ugh. I'm stupid.

The babysitter just got here and is occupying the boy for a couple hours so I can work, so I had better get to work.

  • Morning.

It's warm and muggly and green-smelling this morning. Even though it's overcast, I still like it because I can tell that summer's on the way.

H and I have an ultrasound tonight. Baby has a cyst in his brain, and we're going back to see if it's still there or what the scoop is. I've avoided thinking about it as best as I could since I found out about 6 weeks ago, but today it's weighing on me a little.

    Good luck, Blue and Raynes!
  • Good luck today, Sept. I hope everything is ok. <3

    Morning!

I LOVE my king bed. H is like 6'7" or something crazy and there's no way I'd be comfortable sleeping with him in anything smaller. Being comfy is like my mission in life - H even put it in his vows to me. Seriously.

No windows open for us here - somehow lizards get in our screens and they are a biitch to catch once they're in the house.

Man, I wish WE had a fair this weekend! I LOVE some funnel cake!

We are, however, taking DD on a picnic tomorrow. What are some good picnic foods? She wants PB&J, cheddar and sour cream chips, and turkey/cheese sandwiches. I have to go to the grocery store later, and I know that if I don't have a list I'll buy a shiiit ton more stuff than we actually need.

    Happy Friday!!
  • I hope everything is okay, september.

I'm so glad it's Friday, I feel like I really need a weekend. I woke up this morning super early because of a terrible dream and I can't seem to shake the shitty feeling. I know it was a dream, but it was disturbing. I'm having lunch today with a friend that I haven't seen in months so I'm super excited about that.
