Confessions?

Re: Confessions?

• My confession: There is so much wrong with my team at work, and I don't know how to get people on board to fix it. (A lot of attitude problems/stick in the mud people.) I feel like a failure as a team leader and I never should have volunteered for the job in the first place.
• Rachers, that would have been a hell of an engagement story to retell.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Confessions? : Pssh. I've always been "just" a team member. You still do a lot! I must know now, are you one of the people that stays up all night for it? I always have and hope I always will be able to. It's so much fun.

Last year I was up for 28 hours straight from the time I started setting up until I packed it up and went home. No one else stayed up all nigth with me.

And I'm sorry for the "just". There is nothing wrong with it!!

• I have to confess, I love the pup, but my god I'm tired of my sleep being interrupted. H is good about getting up early to let him out, but I resent that it screws up my daily life.

I love my husband dearly and the dog is really his and he thanks me often for putting up wth stuff and helping out, but I appreciate my cat more and more each day!

I know it wont be forever and he's fun, but I'm tired and I hate my sleep being messed with.

Arwo-I dont know how you guys with insomnia do it, I have a CW like that.

Whenever I want to get a dog again I try to remember that feeling. Adam did a lot of the getting up early to take the dog out (he still does), but it was still really hard at the time. Its a lot of work and its so easy to have rose coloured glasses after the fact and forget it.

I wasn't offended. :) I was just letting you know that there's no such thing as "just" being a team member because it seemed you were down about that detail. If I lived in Arkansas, I would stay up with you.
• KD, you basically have a baby, ha. To be honest, after Whisky's, well, you know, I don't think we'll get a pet for awhile. It will take awhile to recover financially from all his meds and treatments, and besides that, the thought of training a new pet is too daunting at the moment.

Just think toward the future - it will all be worth it! Atticus (is that his official name?) is adorable and he'll be an awesome pet.
• Yeah kd - I remember those days well. The memories are fresh. I think your puppy is adorable, but I'm glad it's you and not me :)

Hopefully it will get easier to enjoy the time, you know? They grow up so fast. I miss puppy Lucy sometimes. Well, except for the sleep deprivation and the peeing everywhere.

• Melatonin helps with my insomnia, too. Also, I sleep better when I take ibuprofen at night. Not sure why it works, but waking up at 1:30 and not being able to go back to sleep really sucks so I'll take it.

• I confess that I bought a Christmas gift already. I never really start early. Maybe November.

I confess that I follow Vernabrit's blog. I wasn't around when she was on TK so I only heard stories of her but I like her blog.
• Not a confession per se, but my little sis just called me to tell me that she successfully defended her thesis this morning and will be graduating with honors because of it. Yay! But she's still a little dumb at regular life stuff. Having 2 sisters who are complete academic brains is a little stressful. At least one is married to someone with common sense too. The younger one worries me.

• Nebb, even if the appointment won't help for the wedding you're going to, I hope they are able to give you some type of long term solution. It sucks that you work so hard and don't get the results that you're hoping for.

• I confess I may have exaggerated how much I need to get done wedding-wise this weekend. FI is heading to our hometown to go fishing with his dad, but I seriously want to just stay home and do nothing. I know I kinda did that two weeks ago.. but I also did a ton of WR stuff that weekend too. I feel like such a lazyass for wanting to have another weekend of doing nothing. And I feel bad that I literally feel antisocial which is why I don't want to go home. Hence why I exaggerated how much I have to do so that people don't get mad at me for not wanting to come home.

I'm a horrible daughter/sister/FSIL/FDIL.

Not a confession but something weird. Ive been waking up every night at 12:06 to pee, even if Im already asleep I wake up and need to go and then cant fall back asleep right away. Lastnight I did and Adam got up too and I asked him what time it was and he told me 12:07, which means I got up at 12:06 and I just about lost it. WHY DO I KEEP WAKING UP TO PEE AT 12:06?! Im convinced there is something seriously wrong with me.

[QUOTE]Dodgers - I read her blog too. And I might have purchased a new curling iron and hairdyer that she also happens to use. And maybe a lipgloss too.

• I confess that I am never in bed in time to wake up at 12:06.

• Reils, sorry for how your are feeling about moving. I moved to a new town to be with FI about 16 months ago. It has taken me forever to not be homesick. After living in the same town for my entire life up to that point, it was quite a change to be in a town where I do not know a single person. It is getting better.

Because of this exact reason, the next dog I get will be an adult. I loooovvvveed having Nera as a puppy, but I like sleep a lot.

[QUOTE]I had a total freak out yesterday afternoon. I went shopping for a dress to wear to that wedding in may and everything looked like a shapeless sack on me. It depresses me more that I can say that despite counting my calories, weighing all of my food and working out 46 times a week since jan/feb, I've not lost more than a pound or two and it always shows up again seems to when I work out more too, but my measurements aren't vastly different. I'm still the same size I was when I decided months ago I didn't want to be this size. I don't want to go to the wedding anymore cause I'm so embarassed by how I look but I know I can't bail cause of that : I came home and cried yesterday I was so upset over it.

late to post as usual but at this my heart goes out to you Nebb. It's difficult, I know, especially if you're putting in the work. Just want to encourage you not to give up and even though it might not make a difference in time for the wedding, it will pay off, I swear. Have you considered muscle-confusion? if not, it's a workout that uses a different muscle group each time and isn't intended to repeat that same group for about 3 days. The other thing is that (excuse if it sounds like I'm talking to you like you've never heard this before, sometimes it helps to have a reminder) you could be at a plateau. Just before a loss, my body would fight (hard) to hold its status - biologically your system cannot tell the difference between dieting and circumstantial starvation, so upon deprivation, it protects itself in case you actually are starving. Try changing your exercise routine, try increasing your water and try (this one's toughest) thinking about anything except your weight for a few days. when you let go, often your body will too. HTH.

I have the same problem, but it's in the 3am hour! I start to get scared that I have a ghost or something.
Confession/ PS I creeped on your pinterest board and the momento mori (spelling?) photos may be contributing to my problem.

• I always wake up at like 542 AM, which sucks because I'm supposed to get up at like 610. I always fall back asleep but dang it.

I confess I totally follow Veronabrit's blog too. :) I heard of it on here, and I really like her. Embarassed

• So Wednesday night was my first military wives meeting. I was pretty pumped to go and meet new people. There were only about 15 people there but not once person was welcoming. No one introduced themselves to me and when I would introduce myself to them, they'd smile and go back to talking to their friends. I felt like the new kid in middle school. I've never met a group of people so unwelcoming.

The confession is that I cried the whole way home and for about a half an hour after I got back. I've been strong about this move and not getting a job up until that night and the flood gates opened.

I don't want to scare you Nebbs but before I was diagnosed with diabetes and my thyroid issue I was peeing non stop. I counted how many times I went. It was ridiculous. If it is a constant issue I 'd let the specialist you are seeing know. Are you seeing an endocrinologist?
• Confession: FI is leaving on Sunday morning to go up to the Islands for a few days to prep the boats for summer. I am looking very forward to having the bed, house, and dog all to myself. Love the man dearly, but sometimes I like to leave my shoes where ever I take them off, or the mail in a stack on the kitchen table, or the dishes in the sink until tomorrow.

Yes! I was really intrigued by your families stories.
Another friend of mine told me a similar story about 3 or 4 am.
So.. those stories plus the death photos = cant sleep.

• My only real confession is that I haven't done a darn thing to lose weight, I don't count calories ,I don't work out except for the occasional walk or jog with my pup, and I eat dessert all the time. For some reason, I lost like 10 pounds over the last 3-6 months, and everyone comments. ( I had no idea how bad I looked before, I guess) Now, I'm a little big-headed and very concious of what I eat because I want to keep getting hte compliments that I look good.
