    Awww  Donna Martin Graduates :)

I also love the woman behind the legend. Tori Spelling is pretty awesome in my book, and sweet as pie, as is her hubby. I met them at a book signing when Mommywood came out. Did I want to buy that book? Not at all. Did I want to meet Tori Spelling - absolutely! I still haven't read it, but I have my signed copy sitting on my bookshelf at home lol.

  • Nates, I'm on it.

I agree about the prostitution thing. Oddly enough, at one time I didn't, and my then-boyfriend (who is way more religious than I am/was) thought it should be legal. Weird how that works, huh?

I don't really have any other popular/unpopular opinions right now. I'm gonna go work on that photoshop for Nates. =)

I had it backwards in my head that it was just legal in the city. You think that's how it would be *shrugs*. I really didn't think I cared too much about labeled invites... until I got one last summer. It screamed cheap and tacky to me.  Now, if you're making labels that match the invites, it might be a different story.  But, wedding invites are like the one thing I get in the mail that isn't a bill; don't make it look like one by quickly slapping a label on the envelope.

Prostitution should totally be legalized, taxed, regulated, etc.

There. I think I'm caught up on that.

    Mine:
Marijuana should be decriminalized. (nope, never smoked it, but I've been around enough people who are high and I see it as far less dangerous then drinking.) Like my friend used to say "no one got high and beat his kids."

You should NOT clip your nails (or paint them for that matter) in the office. GROSS.

I couldn't agree with this more! You need to come and tell this to the lady a few cubicles away. I cringe every time I hear the clip. She also uses an exercise band while talking people through a crisis. If you can imagine it, while she is asking people if they are suicidal or homicidal.

Also, I did contribute to the post. Maybe the first or second page in, I talked about wanting pajama jeans, since they are pretty unpopular and I always have a hard time finding jeans to get over my big rump.

  • Yeah, I'm kind of thinking in circles today, but in my head it makes sense. Prostitution, if made legal, would have to be treated with a lot of care and safety, because it's not just a regular job to me, it's a really tricky subject.

That's exactly the response I was formulating in my head when I started reading your post.  If you didn't have to go into a seedy, dark neighborhood to find a prostitute, I think we would find more normal guys (and ladies) would patronize them.  I'm pretty sure more shady characters and less upstanding citizens would be hiring nannies if it were illegal to do.

My feeling is that if it were legal, these woman couldn't fall prey to "pimps" because they wouldn't need them for protection or to procure clients.  I'm sure they would have a pimp in some form, but they wouldn't be able to just beat their girls at will.  Those girls would be able to go to the police without fear of landing in jail themselves.  They would be able to report rapes for the same reason.

The way I see it, these girls are targets for predators because they have been banished to the shadows.  Killers go after them because no one will notice a street walker missing.  If they do, they're usually too scared to report it.  If we bring them into the light where they can do the job they want AND be an upstanding member of society, I think things will change drastically.  People WILL notice them missing.  They WILL have the right to file a police report for abuse or failure to pay.

  • I disagree about making pot legal on the basis that people who are high dont do bad things.

Pot is a gateway drug, and I cant imagine living in a world where everyone smokes pot.  Pot heads annoy the crap out of me.  When you are in an altered state of reality, you do fvcked up things.  Not everyone, but some.
