Really Giselle??? REALLY??

Re: Really Giselle??? REALLY??

  • Huh.  I wonder what it means that my mom couldn't keep up with me cause I was a fat ass baby?  She had to put me on formula after a couple of months because I was so hungry all the time and she wasn't producing enough milk.

I looked a little like this, only, you know, not Asian:

  • ha amoro, thats a seriously fat baby.

why is it always the fat babies that turn out to be skinny adults???

or wait, thats a generalization I'm not allowed to make- so let me backpedal now.

I didnt back pedal.  Read my first two quotes and you'll see I said things like "kinda" when agreeing w/ Giselle.  My 2nd post explained if you honestly cant, then you cant and thats that.  I'm not some breastfeeding law nazi.

And when someone asked me if I was serious, I said yes- so again, no backpedaling.

I didnt f up anything, I gave my 2 cents since thats what these boards are for.

Lol, same here. My mom stopped after 2 months with me. My brother didn't get any breast milk at all. Loser! Oh wait, I was the one with the ear infections.

AND my brother was allergic to cow's milk, so he had to have goat's milk. My parents were super neglectful.

  • Mery, I was a goat milk baby, too.  I think that's why I have a tendency to chew on tin cans.

  • I'd comment, but I don't have any kids. That means I don't know anything right?

Acutally, I know a lot about birth control. Does that count for anything?

  • Ya know if there was a way to grow a child outside of my body, in like a tube or something, then maybe I would want a kid. But only if it could do my taxes and clean the bathrooms.

  • My mom breastfed me but formula fed my sister.  When we were kids, I was always getting sick.  Sis never was sick a day until she got diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 20.  Whenever the nurses at the hospital my mom works at (she works on maternity) would get on the whole "formula is bad for babies) kick, she would just inwardly laugh.

  • I don't really understand how stuff like this gets discussed in black and white arguments.  Is it not true that depending on the situation of the mother and baby, breastfeeding might tend to be healthier, whereas in other situations it's in the best interest to formula feed instead?

I thought that was the point of kids! Mine is going to take out the dog, work the dishwasher and vacuum by age 4. Then grow up to be a famous billionaire and buy me everything I ever wanted.
  • Of course Katie. They have to bring something to the table.

Golden, i could give a rats ass about your opinion of BF. I am of the firm belief when it comes to epi's and bf that it is to each their own. The fact that you said people who dont do it are lazy and just trying to not be inconvenienced is where you lost all credibility. Had you left that little gem out, it would be a non-issue. I'm not going to BF. I do not want to. I was not. I am 33 and fine. I have my doubts about you though.

  • um breast feeding really worked for me too, I ended up with cancer at 23 and was always sick as a kid... I say do what you feel is right for your children and don't tell others how to raise their kids Giselle!
In Response to Re: Really Giselle??? REALLY?? : I know me too! However my mom has never had it and neither has my brother (32). I'm afraid I'll do more harm to my body by getting the vaccination than just letting luck be on my side (if I don't have some super secret immunity to it). I've been in day care, public school, and both my mom and aunt were teachers. I figure I would have been exposed to it by now!
    Posted by Birdie1483
I'd suggest discussing the pros and cons of the vaccination with your doctor.  I had chicken pox as a HS senior (medically an adult) and was sick as anything.  I had them everywhere, including under my eyelids, down my throat, and in several orifices that shouldn't be mentioned in mixed company.  I've heard cases of adults getting chicken pox and ending up losing the function of an internal organ (and in some cases dying) because that happened to be where the pox clustered.  I always thought I was immune as well, since I'd been exposed dozens of times and never caught it.

  • Ditto about the chicken pox vaccine. My dad got them at the age of 56 (after working at a school his entire life and being exposed when I had them) and he was in the hospital for a week, out of work for a month and incredibly sick.
  • We're really tired of her here in New England.  And slowly getting sick of Tom also.  She definitely carries his balls around in her Prada.
