I think she got flamed for talking too much about her husband's lack of financial sense. I could be wrong but that's all I remember.

ETA - Eags beat me to it.

I think someone also flamed Mari for never having her own opinion and just constantly agreeing with other people. And then a bunch of people agreed with that flame.

Afternoon, ladies. I'm working on making a day zero list. It's not as easy as I'd have thought.
I'm sorry that Mari got butthurt over people thinking her husband has no clue about money. Maybe she shouldn't have told us all repeatedly that her husband has no clue about money.

And that he can't read above a third grade level and they aren't working on improving that.

I think she was really upset when people said that would be a dealbreaker for them.

That might be the best wedding gift I've heard of. Beyond generous!

I thought they were working on his reading level but I may be remembering that wrong. I'm also hardly ever here at night.

Don't get butthurt over an over-share. People are too damn sensitive.

We'd have nobody left if everyone ran away after FFF.

Was there one last week? I thought Mari was still posting here when I left for BC.

Habs, I don't think there was an FFF last week. There were a lot of poll type threads though.

I think she wanted to work on improving it, but he's too embarrased, or something. I can't remember.

Well, for real he can't read above the third grade reading level. They might be working on it? I thought she said once that he wasn't really though, despite her efforts to convince him to.

Also, Midge, I think I stole a few things from your day zero list, haha. I need to see some other people's as well so I can get some ideas. I'm trying to stick to things that are actually attainable in the next 1001 days.

I cannot imagine having to learn to read at this point in my life. I can understand why it would be really embarassing and difficult.

I think the amount of illiterate people is a lot higher than most people realize. I feel badly for him because he was clearly raised in an environment that did not encourage him to learn.
Idk, you kind of can't win when you're getting flamed repeatedly. How many times have we said "why would they stick around if they get flamed all the time"..so idk, I can understand Mari not wanting to hang out anymore. FWIW, I like Mari. I hope they work through all the financial/reading stuff because that's gotta be tough.
    Posted by rachers1017
I don't feel like she was flamed that hard or that many times though. It's not like every FFF turned into flaming her, unlike some other people!

    ETA: EVERY, not ever.

Yeah, I think the are working on it. I believe she said he had a learning disability and the teachers kind of passed him through the grades. It came up during the "No Child Left Behind" discussion. Then, also, I believe he was raised by his grandmother who sounds like a wench and told him he wasn't smart enough to learn.

Just googled it and apparently approx 32 million adults in the US don't have the basic reading abilities to read a bottle of pills or the newspaper.
