Re: Scary movie poll!

  • Exorcist beginnings (I think its called) and it takes place in africa or something and it starts with all the upside down crosses with bodies on them. Terrified the life out of me. Doesnt help that I was super high, but it still scared me.
  • Happy Anniversary!! I still think the first Halloween was the scariest ever.  Especially when Michael is lurking around the yard before he kills everyone.

  • I have watched many a scary movie, but the only on that I absolutely cannot ever watch again because it bothered me so much was The Ring. I know there are way scarier movies out there, but that one just really got to me. My favorite scary is House of 1000 Corpses. :)

  • The Shining.  Saw it when I was way too young to see it (8) and then made my brother sleep with me for two years after that.  Crazy dead chick in the bathtub still creeps me out to this day.  And the phrase "red rum" will nearly give me a panic attack.

  • I am not a big scary movie person at all, but I was forced to watch The Strangers last year. Anything that is based on a true story or actual events really scares me. I'm kinda intrigued by the upcoming movie about an alien abduction in Alaska- The Fourth Kind? I think that's what it's called.
  • Oh Nebb, I have not seen this. Sounds scary.TY! I watched the first Halloween a few nights ago. So creepy.

  • A. Happy Anniversary!B. The first 10 minutes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I almost threw up and left the room.
  • Scariest movie I have ever seen: The Orphanage.  It's also one of the saddest.  The scariest part is at the end where the main character plays hide and go seek with the ghosts.  I'm getting chills up my spine just typing this.
  • TY Salt! You guys are giving me great ideas for tonight horror fest I plan on renting!

  • Hands down, The Strangers. I saw it once well over a year ago, and I am STILL regularly freaked out.
  • I have never seen a scary movie.  The previews freak me out so I actively avoid them.  I'm a wuss.I think the closest thing I've seen to a scary movie was Cloverfield, which was kind of dumb and not that scary.

  • I don't often do scary movies because I get too scared but the strangers is the freakiest I've seen.
  • Mine- Hostel Two. The part where the woman takes a shower in virgin blood ala Elizabeth Bathory style creeped me the hell out! Also, roaches terrify me.

  • The Ring is a close second to The Orphanage.  I could hardly sleep for weeks after I saw it.  And still at night when I turn the tv off and it glows I think that creepy girl is going to climb out of it on all fours.  Gah!
  • Happy anniversary, lovely!  How are you celebrating?  Anything besides going out to party?I saw the Exorcist when I was about 13 and it scared the bejeezus out of me.  The head spinning thing, and when she walks down the stairs in a backbend and pees on herself just scarred me for life.  Plus I don't like the creepy voice she gets.

  • I was also terrified during both texas chainsaws. I dont know why I agreed to see EITHER of them to be honest. I was also pretty scared during the others (but more of a suspense "what the fuuuck is going to happen?!" way), and during the sixth sense. It was more of a scared the first time though. Ghosts scare the life out of me.
  • Happy anniversary, lovely! How are you celebrating? Anything besides going out to party?Well...... ;P and we are going out to eat before the partying starts with friends. I think we are going to try a local steak house.

  • OH OH! and house on haunted hill and thirteen ghosts, those both terrified me too.
  • The Strangers freaked me out too.  I didn't sleep for a few nights.  And I checked my closets before I went to bed.  Also, I didn't liek Hostel and Saw...IV, I think.  Or no, maybe it was III.  Whichever one had the guy on the rack and was twisting his legs and arms around.  I almost threw up and spent most of both  movies with my head buried in FI's arm because I don't do gore that well. And we just watched Last House on the Left.  I thought it was decent (except for the rape scene, which we fast forwarded through), until the end.  The end was bad.

  • I think the Shining is the scariest movie that I've ever seen. The 3 parts that scare the effing ess out of me are: 1. The little girls just standing in the hallway (you know it, Ricks). 2. The part where he walks into the room and the old naked lady is in the bathtub. 3. The part where he is going completely fuucking nuts and talking to the ghosts in the bar.
  • Chainsaw Mass. is super creepy and I always wonder if there is really people out there like that! Ketchup. And the thought of being buried alive. Very scray thought.

  • I'm entirely too skeptical to get into scary movies. The Ring was such a stupid movie, poor Salt :) The actual Ring itself (not to give it away) is physically impossible to make. I'll leave it that :) Ricks, I totally thought of you the other day, and I wish you lived closer. I'd take you and your H where we're going tomorrow for your anniversary gift. Look at the website: http://villiscaiowa.com/  I'm already freaked the eff out, I can't wait!!

  • Nebb, the original House on Haunted Hill or the new one? The new one is one of my favorite cheesey movies. The old one I haven't seen yet, but plan to break out this weekend.

  • I dont find the movie of the shining scary, the BOOK though, the first time I read it I near peed my pants I was so scared. I was 14 and it was an awful time, but I love it now.
  • Sounds fun!  I hope you guys have a blast!

  • The Shining.  Saw it when I was 13 or so, but it wasn't the movie that scared that crap out of me, it was the very end.  Two weeks earlier I had had a dream that someone was chasing me through a maze in the snow.  When that scene came up I had to leave the theater.  Mom said I was so white she thought I was going to pass out.  Since then, I'm like Brie, i actively avoid all things scary.  I'm fine with blood and guts, just not suspence.
