Sunday evening...

Re: Sunday evening...

  • Oh nevermind, I just looked it up.  The Bellevue one would be closest for us.  I highly doubt I'll convince H to drive 45 minutes and pay the price to eat there.  But you never know!

  • There is one in Bellevue and one by Seattle Center in Seattle. No matter what it's a boat ride for us. But we have done it a couple times.

  • FI have never celebrated a dating anniversary, but I"m going to hold him to it for the marriage one. Gifts not needed, but a nice dinner out will be a must! :)
  • H will be in LA for Navy Fleet Week during our anniversary, and I've already decided that I'm flying and meeting him there for it.

  • Cuisinart has a good fondue pot. You just plug it in and adjust the temperature to the setting for what you're looking to melt/cook. It also comes with a recipe book. I would've never bought this for myself, but received it as a birthday gift a while back, and LOVE it. I don't think it was much more than $50, and I have had many a fun girls night with fondue and wine (what else?!). Totally worth it. However, it's a bit of a PITA to clean, but most can go into the dishwasher.
Now all I can think about is dipping strawberries and bananas into chocolate. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. damn you dnb!

The fondue set we have isn't too bad, and I think I got it for $10 at The Christmas Tree Shop a few years ago.  It is actually really easy to clean because even the cheese just slides right out of it.  The burnt stuff gets tricky though.  I will definitely keep the Cuisinart one in mind though for when this one gets too burnt.

I LOVE getting the chcolate at The Melting Pot because they do such good dippers.  I definitely like bananas over strawberries.  But cheesecake, brownies, rice krispie treats... YUMMM!

This place we went to gave us a ton of pineapple to dip, and it defintiely was not a favorite of either of us.

ETA: Christmas Tree Shop.  Man I miss that store!

  • We don't have a fondue set. W had a small chocolate fountain but it was too much for just the 2 of us. I really like going out for fondue and probably would get frustrated trying to do it ourselves.

  • Yeah it can be a pain in the butt to make it at home, but it's so good!  We have only done chocolate once, and it burnt pretty quickly.  It can be tricky finding the right mix between melting and then not burning.
