Morning Pretties! Ready for work to be over so the weekend can begin. We're going to H's hometown and staying with his parents for the wedding tomorrow.<strong> I bought a new dress yesterday because I'm vain and don't want people seeing me in the same thing twice. </strong>But it was half off, so I'm good. Aaand I can't imagine living without our W/D. We have the stacked kind and they suck though. Bay - try to avoid them if you can! They are just annoying.

I'm the same way with dresses... I so rarely wear them that I don't want to wear the same one twice.

• I was never so glad that our Italian apartment at least had a washer. No dryer, but ah well. It was better than the single unit, combo washer and dryer. Those fuckers are awful.  When we came looking for an apartment in Sweden, we flat out refused to live anywhere with communal washers. you have to sign up here, and you are only allowed to do laundry at that time and no other.
• This was Rufus after I left the house this morning:

• Good morning! H and I packed our moving truck yesterday and he's driving it to Florida as we speak. I'm flying down tonight to help him set everything up then coming back to DC for a few more weeks.

We have a W/D in this new place and it will be the first time I've had them since I moved out of my mom's house at 18. To say I'm excited would be an understatement.

I'm excited to just see our new place in general since neither of us have actually been there yet.

• Hiya!  Good morning.
I loved our front load washer.  We shopped around on the internet and went to a couple of stores, decided what we wanted, and then took our internet best prices for each piece (from different stores) to Sears Appliance (not a Mall Sears, it has to be a Sears Hardware and Appliance) and they price matched everything, and then we saved 10% opening a 0% interest Sears card for 12 months and paid them off in 4 months.

• Awww, Daff!  Heartbreaking.

What didn't you like about it? I know they're pretty popular in Europe and a friend of mine had one put in their condo because they couldn't add an exhaust to their place. She seems to like it pretty well (especially now that she has a baby who spits up on everything all the time!), but I'm curious what the negatives are.

</div><div>We had one of those at our last place and it was pretty much the worst thing that ever happened to me. Nothing got dry so we always had shiit hanging everywhere, it took forever so we could never keep up with our laundry, and it permanently fucked our nice new towels. I shed so many tears over that stupid piece of shiit.

• Aww poor Rufus. He misses his mommy.

I just went and looked at Grooms response to Kristen. I'm pretty sure that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen her say but there couldn't have been a better response.

</div><div>The negatives are everything. They don't wash well, they don't dry well, they don't get anything clean, it takes about 5 hours to run ONE cycle, they do nothing for removing lint, pet hair, wrinkles, etc. Seriously, hand washing is more efficient.

• Do it, Daff.  It's too nice a day to be indoors anyway.
In Response to Re: It's Friday! : This is what I was trying to explain to H! He countered that he wears the same ties several times. And I told him he was silly if he thought anybody remembered ties - unless they are godawful. Btw, you are VERY pretty.
Posted by rachers1017
Thanks! And tie is not the same as dress... the tie is only part of the outfit whereas the dress IS the outfit.. Plus, guys are pretty much expected to wear the same couple of suits and ties to everything.

Pretty much this.  The other issue I had with ours is that the coldest the water went to was 30. CELSIUS. That's almost 90 degrees. Um, high. When I mean cold, I mean COLD.  It trashed so much of my stuff it's unbelievable.
• A half day will do you wonders Daff!  You deserve it after the week you've had!
• Snippy, I love your new sig.

90 degree water sounds like it would disintegrate clothes on contact.

Thanks! After yesterday with that Megan+Alex person, I felt it was necessary.

And yeah, clothes not happy. Especially since I have such long legs, shrinking is a major problem for me.
• Good morning all!

Daff, i'm SO glad you're getting some time away from your boss!  Hope you turn off your phone!

I wear dresses pretty much every day, so people defintely see me in the same ones repeatedly, but for any occasion that is remotely special?  Yeah, i need a new dress too.

So glad it's friday.  Even though we're putting in new flooring this weekend.
• Today is my last day of work!  And then when I get off (at 9 tonight) we're moving so H can start his new job Monday.
image
• Cherry laminate.  And we're putting it in ourselves, so this is going to be a ...fun weekend.

Jally, where are you guys moving?

Pretty! Sounds like FI, apparently we are installing our new counter tops ourselves and probably the flooring, lol he'll do anything to save money.

• Grats to your H, Rupert and Jal!

I would probably die if I had to move to Florida, but as that's where you're from, I'm sure you will be happy!  You are a sexy librarian in the works!! That can be your Halloween costume of truth. :D
