Re: Good evening!

  • Hello!
I'm working the other job tonight. Nothing horribly exciting.  Writing out my WP TY cards (one less thing to do later).
Did you have anything yummy for dinner?
  • hi! I'm attempting to sculpt cake toppers because I am fuucking insane.
  • I made shrimp and lemon pasta.  So good.  I used this as the basis, but used a pound of big shrimp, not the wimpy bay kind, and I used linguini instead of angel hair pasta.

  • Muni I can't believe how close you're getting! Getting anxious?
  • not exactly anxious.  There's just still a fair bit to do, and FI and I both keep saying "I can't spend X dollars on THAT!  I'll just MAKE it!"

...which is why i'm trying to sculpt the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler tonight.

If we would just stop doing that type of shiz, we'd be fine.

    That looks delish!
I made <a href="http://www.weightwatchers.com/food/rcp/RecipePage.aspx?recipeid=57621" rel="nofollow">THIS</a> last week and it was DIVINE! I used special K instead of cornflaked and it worked great.  It was so good I'm making it again this week lol.
  • Hello. Yet ANOTHER water main broke on campus. They're scheduled to finish replacing every single water pipe by June, but today's break cut off water to 3/4 of the buildings. I had to walk half a mile to pee.

The water is back on, but there's a boil advisory. There's no coffee. Anywhere. Yell
  • I'm cooking a frozen pizza instead of what I'm supposed to be eating for dinner and reading forums instead of working on wedding things.

Not my best day for making good choices :(
  • My gramma has been moved to a rehab center. She's making great progress and is cooperating with the PT and OT. She should be home this week.

I'm nervous about my mom's surgery tomorrow. BIL's wife may or may not be having surgery the same day (H is trying to find out), and MIL would be in the waiting room. If so, that means I need to sit there, too, preferrably with a baseball bat and/or taser, to keep MIL from harassing my father.

Chels, that chicken looks delicious... and it looks pretty easy to make, was it easy? I am NOT  a cook, so I'm always looking for really easy recipes for when FI and I finally live together.

Hey guys.. I just got out of the bath and I'm relaxing, letting my lotion sink in. I'm getting hungry, so I'll probably figure something out for dinner pretty soon. It's almost 8 PM so I don't have high hopes that my mom is making anything.

ETA - I hope your mom's surgery goes well tomorrow, Special!

ugh...i just made a hot dog for dinner...and when I went to shake the Sriracha sauce it wasn't closed and went EVERYWHERE!

by the time i finished cleaning it my hot dog was cold and H got all defensive "I don't remember the last time i used it but I am pretty sure it was closed"  I snapped "don't get defensive, I am not placing blame on anyone"

now he is giving me the silent treatment.

I already felt like crap today ... I don't need this.
  • hey mica!
Did you see that Crash got married?  Photos below in  case you missed them
  • Hello. I'm at the school library writing a paper until FI gets done with class at 8:30. I only have a page left but I'm kind of running out of things to say. I just really want to finish it here so I don't have to worry about using FI's computer when we get home.
  • Angel, it was very easy to make!

    Special, T&Ps to your mom!
  • APA format is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever had to deal with.

    Thanks, guys.

Is "None of your damned business" an appropriate response if MIL asks why my dad and I are in the waiting room? One should consider my MIL's history of asshattery and malicious gossiping when forming an opinion.
  • Yes, it is, Aleigh.

I'd rather guilt trip her with "I'd rather not talk about it".  It makes her know that you are internaly worried/suffering.  It makes her (hopefully) realize that she's an asshole if she gossips about it.
  • So poor Rose Tyler's head is coming out very lopsided.  I'm not very good at sculpting.  Back to square one on cake toppers.

I have faith in your ability to sculpt your cake toppers just by how beautifulyl your bouquet turned out. Clearly, you have the DIY gene that I was born without. Are you going to try sculpting again or just break down and buy one?

<div>I'm not sure anything could make her realize she's an asshole. If anything, she'll make up something.</div><div>
</div><div>For example, BIL's wife is in the middle of a cancer scare. According to MIL (who told EVERYONE), she has cancer and is on death's door. All of that is framed in a way to solicit sympathy for MIL.</div>

<div>I'd leave our numbers with the greeters and find a different waiting room.  Not worth dealing with that to be in the "right" waiting room.</div>

<div>I felt this way about the personalized wine glasses for my BMs. They're like $15 a piece on Etsy and I'm making them for like $1.50 each. And I'd have to say I am quite proud of how they've turned out, tyvm.</div>

<div>Awww, thank you.  I've worked as a jeweler, so the bouquet thing is right in my skill set.  Sculpting...not so much.  I might fuss with it again later, but I think we're just going to buy Daleks instead of doing 10 and Rose.  Sigh.</div>
  • specialK : pretend like you are your own doppelganger.  Fake not knowing MIL.
  • Hi ladies.  I'm just waiting for The Voice to start and relaxing on the couch.

Aleigh APA formatting was nothing for me since i always knew it.  But what drove me nuts was the one random college professor who insisted everyone use Chicago-style formatting.  So after like 10 years and every other class doing APA I had to figure that shiit out.

<div>The one you showed us looks awesome.  </div>
  • I planted some herbs today.  Rosemary, thyme, sage and tarragon.  I would have done parsley for the sake of the song, but parsley doesn't grow well here, or so MIL tells me.
  • ...I sing that song EVERY time FI makes something with more than one of those herbs.  And he claims to have never heard that song and looks at me like i'm nuts every thyme.
  • Beachy, I did MLA all through high school and in college I've had some professors use MLA and some use APA. I wish they would just stick with one.
