Re: Yep. It's early, but Morning!

  • Well awesome, here come the negative post times!
  • Oh no.  Well, if that sticks, I'll see you all whenever everything gets fixed.  :\

J is so darned cute, Stacks!

    And feel better, Snippy!
  • Stop hiding, it works again!
  • I'm not sure that you could have done anything differently Stacks.  She was pretty convinced that we were the root, so whatever.  Just send her wishes to get the help she needs.
  • Good morning! Yesterday SUCKED. I hurt myself working on some monitors (cut my hand really good and twisted my ankle) and then my cat visciously attacked my arms and face (little fuucker grabbed on with his claws and pulled himself forward to bite my face). Yet after all that? I'm in a pretty good mood. I've been extremely busy, yet productive.I like this feeling :)

  • Good Morning All!

    Sorry about the sicknesses.

I crochet. I can kind of knit, but I just find crocheting is more versatile, so I haven't knitted in a long time, unless I make a knit/crochet fusion project. But I actually haven't done much of either in a long time. I usually don't do it at all during the summer (who needs a scarf in July) and pick it up in the fall so I've got stuff for cold weather/Christmas gifts... but for whatever reason I've not gotten the crafting bug this season.  The last project I finished was an afghan for Ryan.  It took FOREVER, so maybe that's why?

Well it was weird bc first Missy posted "I should stay away" last night in the morning thread but then afterwards she was posting in the Xmas memories and addicted to candy canes thread. So I don't think she actually wants to stop posting, she just seems to want to contribute what she wants in silly threads and complain of being sick, tired, and depressed in the morning threads and have no one respond unless it's to say "I'm sorry about that." But we're adults with brains and consciences and if someone keeps telling us they're sick everyday, we're going to tell them to go to the doctor. If someone says they're depressed everyday with their relationship, we're going to suggest counseling or a therapist. It's just all stuff she doesn't want to hear. It's like with quitting smoking or drinking, we can't want it for her, she has to want a change for herself. I hope she realizes the advice comes from a place of support and care and that she gets the help she needs.
  • Good morning!  It's so nice out today, albeit a bit chilly (for me anyway).

<div>I always found knitting more versatile so I stuck with it.  I like to make fair isle sweaters but damn they are a lot of work.</div>
  • It's really cold this morning.  Of course, that probbably means it's in the high 40s.  I still wore shorts and flip flops to walk the dog, although I cursed her for taking so long to do her business.
  • Good morning.  An email was sent out with the "latest copy of IT guidelines."  I'm paranoid, so of course I think it's directed at me.  I might have to lay low for awhile.  Boo.

  • Good Morning!

I'm hoping I'm going to get my car out of the shop today.  FI has been chauffering me around, which is kind of nice, but it still stinks to not be independent.

FMIL is coming over for dinner tonight, so I put in a chicken to roast this morning.  I can't wait to get home and smell it.  Yummm!

Besides that, I'm kind of tired and achy this morning.  I think I've been overdoing the working out.  I might have to take tonight off.  We'll see how I feel later on.

  • Morning all.

It's definitely cold in DC too.  It's about time- I'm honestly tired of the dreary gray rainy stuff.  That's supposed to be earlier than December.  I saw yesterday that the coldest day here since last winter was way back on October 29th.  That's just not right.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was feeling like Missy was beyond just being in a funk.  I know I've not been around for long, but she never seemed happy.  I hope she's going to get the help she needs.

Meg, you actually know how to knit Fair Isle sweaters?!  I'm totally jealous.  I can do hats and scarves, but sweaters or anything with a pattern that complicated scares the heck out of me.

    Happy Thursday everyone!

[QUOTE]She got in the car after preschool yesterday and said, "hey mommy we painted star ornaments for you but we still have to put on the glitter, it's a secret though so I can't tell you what it is". It was so funny when she realized she tOld me exactly what it was. So then she said well don't tell daddy I'll just give it to him.

  • Morning ladies....I haven't been around much lately, I've been having to "work," what's up with that?  Missy GBCKed?!?!  Off to find the thread....
  • Good Morning! I am getting ready to go to the Allergy doctor, going to find out today if I have to start taking allergy shots or not. Not looking forward to it, but maybe it'll help me feel better.

Hope that everyone has a great day!!!

  • I'm not up to sweater making in my talent.  The largest projects have been afghans (I've made two) and the most complicated... purses probably. Sweaters intimidate me majorly.

  • HOLY moly. Just read yesterday's morning thread.

Missy, if you're out there lurking, I hope you can find happiness and health and come back to E.   I think a therapist and potentially antidepressants could work wonders.  I know from when I went through depression that one thing that I would tend to do is try to blame my bad feelings on any insignificant annoyance I could  and try say that the annoyance was why I was feeling down, because being depressed doesn't feel normal and the logical side of my brain wanted a  reason for why I always felt like shiit.   It started with Katrina (which logically would depress someone) but then it just stayed. If it wasn't Katrina it was my roommates' music or my mom giving me a hard time, or the E board or living with a smoker....

When I realized one day that maybe it was just me and I got on Zoloft it was a complete 180.

I have always wanted to try making Afghans, my grandmother makes them and they are just beautiful!

  • Morning!

It's so windy here!  I'll have to officially break out my winter jacket I guess. I've been putting that off since it's been in the 50s.

I'm so close to being done with my Christmas shopping, and hopefully in the next few days I'll finally finish.  I'm still kind of stumped on what to get my FMIL.

And we have an editor's meeting today that I just don't have the energy for. Off to make myself some hot chocolate!

Nola- Oh man, Ruth's Chris is so delicious...

  • Oh! And I made dog sweaters. But my dog stretches them out to ridiculous proportions by putting her hind legs in it and kicking and kicking until it's dragging on the floor, so I stick to the store made ones now.

  • Good morning!  It's chillly and really windy but at least there's some blue skies!

I hope you feel better Snippy and little J, it's no fun being sick at this time of year.

Bay that's a really sucky work schedule but I'm glad he's happy at the EMT job.

I can't knit, sew, crochet, etc.  I woulld love to learn how to knit and sew though!

I like them. I'm sure mine aren't up the quality of your grandmother's, but I really like how Ryan's turned out.  But they take a lot of yarn, and so I don't feel like I can afford to start it. I have yarn, but not a lot of any one type. I'm saving my money up for important things, like passports and moving expenses... and maybe a wedding? So I figure craft with what I already own, or don't craft at all. :)

  • I don't think I have the required attention span to do a whole quilt.  I've knitted a baby blanket, and that was  a killer, I can't imagine doing something 10x bigger.
  • Adamar- if you're still around, I'm down with tie-dye.  Probably more for a girl then a boy, but I'm always open to it!    I just went back and read the rest of the night thread.  I ended up falling asleep with the laptop open.

  • I can't knit or sew. It's like trying to play the guitar for me, my fingers just don't cooperate. I can type with my eyes closed and never miss a key, but put yarn and knitting needles in my hands and my fingers suddenly forget how to function.
  • Morning!

It is freezing here. We need to get an ice scraper for our car. This morning we somehow ended up with ice on the INSIDE of the windshield. I have no clue how that happens.
  • Sesh -- your fingers haven't yet developed a memory for the knitting, but if you did it as often as you type, you'd get it eventually.

Of course, I don't knit/crochet nearly often enough to have it ingrained either.  I need to watch what I do or I'll mess it up too.
