Yep. It's early, but Morning!

Re: Yep. It's early, but Morning!

  • Morning! Snips, I'm glad you got the postcard - that's so fast! I'm off today because it's a random holiday here (some virgin or other), but I'm leaving tonight, so I need to run some errands and pack. It's weird pulling out all the winter clothes for England when it's summer here.
  • Birdie, does your H's insurance have an EAP?  In the 3 jobs I've had since college, all with different insurance carriers and in 2 different states, all of the policies have had an EAP.  I guess I assumed that they're standard, but maybe not?

  • I think that's what I thought was weird cfas, that she looked she was at something fancy and it just threw me off.
  • Ryan's my FI (since my name is RyansBelovedBride I figure that didn't require explanation). Tongue out

  • FTR, I have said the exact same thing about Missy that everyone else said yesterday, only I have mentioned it to a reg offboard, because I stopped participating in morning threads that she started since they were all so depressing and it got tiresome. I hope she can get it together, because I think she's sweet and don't think she should go.

Anyway, good morning! I have a nasty cold, but I am super excited for our company holiday party tomorrow. It's at a horse track, which I have never been to. Love new things! My coworkers are super fun too, so I think it will be a good time. Black sweaterdress sound good?

  • Morning ladies.

Hope all the sick people get better soon.

I feel bad for Missy, hopefully she will get some help soon.  I've been on anti-depressants myself and they can be a life saver.  Actually I've thought about going back on them because of the move.  Not having a job, not knowing people put a toll on me.  Now that I have the job and starting to met people things are looking up so I'm hoping I was just in a funk.   If I find in the next few months that is not the case I will go and get some meds.

I'm on my last 5 days of being a SAHW.  I have the xmas cards done, just need to drop them off in the mail (and get the out-of-country postage). Then we are having a TV delivered between 12-4 today.  Don't you just hate that?     12-4 is a long time to wait.

Oh and get this, DH was to order a cheap TV for the spare bedroom for our guests. No big deal, there are some cheap TV's out there perfect for a spare room.  INSTEAD he ordered a larger, better TV (ie: more expensive than a cheap TV) for our bedroom and our bedroom TV will go to the guest room.   Mind you the bedroom TV is 4 MONTHS old.  Hardly something that needs replacing. Yell

Tonight, we are having dinner and going to listen to some jazz with a couple we met in the building.  They have an awesome dog that we hope will become friends with Chef-D.   Sadie (their dog) is so well behaved. Let's hope some of it will rub off on Chef-D when he gets here.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Gosh! I have been at the doctors over an hr doing breathing treatments. I didn't realize my lungs are in such bad shape, I don't smoke or anything.

It's very possible that they have one, but since it's something he probably wouldn't think he'd use he doesn't pay attention to that kind of stuff. :) I"ll have to ask him about it.

Oh dear.  I'm sorry.  Since I'm pretty new and don't know anything, is this ongoing?  Are you okay?

So you want to state for the record that you talked behind her back instead of trying to talk TO her and get her to get some help for herself? <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif" border="0" alt="Foot in mouth" title="Foot in mouth" />

I actually did say something once to her in a "Hey, you should go to the doctor way", but when someone asked why I wasn't around for morning threads anymore, I did tell them why, yes. I don't feel bad about that.

ETA: I also wondered if I was the only one noticing this, and felt uncomfortable giving her the "tough love" that was dealt yesterday, because I was afraid it was me reading too much into it. Obviously I was not, and should have been more "Get a grip on your life" and less "Oh hey, you should see someone, hugs", but hindsight is 20/20.

  • Oh, I didn't even read that fully. I didn't realize that one poster made you stop participating in threads. Interesting.

Just some of the good morning threads. There are plenty of other threads to participate in, why pick the one that basically went the exact same way every day, where Missy felt bad about something, everyone coddled her about it, and nothing changed? Personal preference, that's all.
