  • Plus, FI went through Navy boot camp, so I know he can handle that part of it.

Yeah, I didn't know the term for it, but that is what I meant. haha. I am still too much of a wimp to do that though, I'm guessing.

  • I couldn't even pass the cop stuff. I forget what the requirements are, but hah. Yeah right.
  • The job market for cops isn't that great either. I only know that my brother will have an ok time with getting a job because my mom is good friends with several ex-Sheriffs and current sheriffs.

Ha, yeah, I couldn't do it either... for a lot of reasons. I coudn't deal with the physical demands, and I also don't take well to being yelled at and ordered around. I do what I want, thank you very much.

  • Apparently the job market is not that great for any kind of position where we live. FI has applied to all sorts of jobs and is still bouncing at a club.

Angel - I love that pic of you and your FI.

I'm a straight-up sig pic creeper tonight. Jeez. I need a new topic.

I know I'm late, but regarding the Chrome PIP thing: I can maximize the pop-up, but it doesn't give me the upload form. Maybe I'll play around with it and see if I can get it to work. FI is a computer guy, so he can probably figure it out for me.

    ETA: Got it! Yaaaaaay!!!

Exactly... and honestly, I can't handle it. I don't do distance well. I don't even know that I'd be okay with what Musu and Loopy do, with the not seeing their Hs for days or weeks at a time. I also don't want to move away from the Philadelphia area. It's going to be a looooong 4 years for me if it ends up happening. Our deal is that he would do it for one commitment, 4 years and then we'd come home.

You can do it!  Hopefully it flies by.  I can't believe it's only 2 more weeks until H finishes his first year of grad school. Three years seemed like an eternity before but this milestone makes me feel a little better.

Is your H still considering grad school in the South?

Yeah, he definitely will have to do an internship program. My mom is really close with the current County sheriff here, and he (my brother) is in the explorers program with that sheriff's office. She also knows like 40 cops, lol. Which is good since my brother is middle class and white so otherwise he would have a hard time getting a job (since most are going to minorities these days).

He is definitely still considering it. We don't know if he will apply to go right after I graduate or if we will wait a year. But yeah when he does apply, he still has his 3 southern schools on the list (LSU is still one of them). :)

That would be really frustrating! J's best friend went to a 2 year law enforcement program and has been looking for a cop job for 3 years now. First his problem was not getting the full 4 years since that seems to be mandatory now, and Second, he's a white male so his chances are lower. It's all about who you know these days.

Clemson, and Ole Miss. I think we had another one at one point, but since I can't remember, it couldn't have been as important, lol. The other schools are near us here.

    ETA: "Other" meaning non-south, hah.

  • Wow, those are some seriously southern schools he picked out.
  • When I think of those schools all I can picture is football and girls in sundress with their cowboy boots. Although I mostly just know about their Greek life and football so there's that.

Haha, right? We both fell in love with the campuses of Ole Miss & Clemson though. Even just from photos/video online. I'm more partial to Clemson for some reason. Although really, any of the 3 would be ok. Except LSU means I'd have to take the LA bar exam which is lame because LA has their own set of laws special to them.

Lol, I'm sure thats true! J and I agreed that if we moved away from this area for school though, it would be somewhere much warmer in climate. We're too attached to our families to move somewhere that has the same/similar climate but without the families there. If that makes any sense. He's also going to apply to the U of Hawaii. Psh. He dreams big.

This doesn't surprise me.  H and I have always said that LA has it's own thing going on...in so many ways.  Not like anywhere else in the country.  They really know how to have a good time though so it's making our time here much more bearable.
