[QUOTE]Um, Rosie? I think that's illegal. At least in most states. California and Florida are questionable. It's hot there.

Um, no. It's not that hot here. Keep your clothes on, people. I like my Taco Bell sans naked people.
  • You can't tell adults how to dress.  And if you're going to kick out certain guests based solely on their attire, you should be JOPing with just you and your FI.  My uncle wore jeans and a t-shirt to my wedding, because he wears jeans and a t-shirt everywhere.  I didn't care - he can whatever he wants and it didn't RUIN MY DAY!!!!

  • If everyone went to Taco Bell naked, do you think they'd rename it to Taco Bells?

  • Or, since TB leads to a... looser waistline, Taco Belly.
  • What if a bunch of guys went to TB naked? Taco Balls?

  • I think jeans or not depends on where you live and the kind of "crowd" it is.  My 1st reception was a boots/jeans kind of crowd, so there were some there in boots and jeans.  They weren't ratty jeans or anything - they looked very nice.  If it is such an affront - as a PP said - it reflects on them, not you.  And truly - with everything else that goes into planning a wedding worrying about what people may or may not wear is just not worth it IMO.

  • Oh my God, Taco Balls. ♥

I bet they'd adopt those seat protector sanitizer things.

  • This is the first thread I've opened today.  It made me laugh.

Thank you OP.  I picture you laying on the floor, holding your breath, and kicking like a toddler.  Calling you elementary names is a compliment.

  • They were BLUE taco balls.

There is a big difference depending on the color of the balls.

[QUOTE]You can't dictate what your guests wear. You can suggest how they should dress with the formality of your invites. These invites:\ Suggest a much more formal wedding, then say, these invites: However, Disney-themed weddings are awesome. You could also mention attire on your wedding website, something like "Black Tie Optional " or "Formal wear." All this being said, if a guests shows up to your wedding in jeans, there really isn't anything you can do about it. You can't make them leave. And at the end of the day, your wedding isn't going to be ruined because Uncle Cal showed up in jeans and a short-sleeved dress shirt.

Honestly, in some areas and in some cases this won't work. We had formal invites like the first one and still had numerous people show up in jeans, and have seen the same at friends' weddings. I have to sympthasize with the OP because it's very frustrating. But at the same time, there's really nothing the OP can do- politely anyway. Just hope for the best!

  • Wow, I think a lot of people are being a bit snarky on here. Calling her names is not very productive. I absolutely would not want anyone wearing jeans to my wedding. I would never even dream of someone doing that, so I completely understand where your coming from OP.

Really? I thought these threads were suppose to be for advice and helping people. There is a productive way to state your opinion about things and get your point across, and not be rude and negative.
