  • Red beans and rice is atrocious! Never will I cook that in my house.

  • Poor girl @Kalpi- half the crappyness of vomiting is the embarrassment of showing that in front of people.

  • It's sort of a staple around here...but I've never made it myself. I'm not really a fan of beans in general but Brian likes it and I'll eat it if it's served to me. I tried to make it healthy with brown rice and turkey sausage but I think I failed.
  • LDY, H and I don't decorate with obviously Christian symbols for Christmas.  I doubt anyone thinks we hate Christians.  We just aren't Christian.

  • We went to chicfila tonight. I was not going near the kitchen.

I am scared as to what next week is going to bring. Apparently the week before our full board of director's christmas meeting is terrible. As in my boss acts like he is on crack and runs everyone around like crazy. And seeing as I am his main bitch (not in a good way) I am really scared how much life is going to suck next week :(

  • I didn't think you hated christians LDY, I just didn't know if you'd find it hypocritical to decorate with trees and nativities and symbols of a christian holiday when you feel more atheist in your beliefs.  So you can totally decorate "winter" with snowflakes and stuff.  My mom strings a ribbon across her big window and clothespins kids mittens to the ribbon.  SO CUTE!
  • Pheagles are you watching the game? My SS gifts are nothing compared to the ones I've seen.

  • I need to get my secret santa present together...I sent a text to someone asking if they thought my SS would like it and they were like "well she already does X so I'm sure she's got that stuff already..." BOOOO. Now on to plan B. I'm so excited about who I've got, but I can't seem to think of anything great for her!
  • Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming (Wii and Xbox360 games).

We are all decorated for Christmas here. No shopping done yet either. I have no clue what I'm getting FI. I can always get him a shirt as a last resort.

  • Well Kalpi I DID eat dinner, so ice cream will be dessert, heh. :)

Rosie don't you love going and cutting it down!? I always grew up with a fake tree so last year when J took me to get our first tree, it was so much fun. His grandpa owns a shitton of land so we always just go into one of his forests and find one to cut down. Tory runs around and gallops in the snow and its fun. :)

  • No worries, LDY.

H is agnostic, at least he says he is.  He says he doesn't know or care if there's a God, that the only important thing in life is being a good person and treating people equally.  He likes Christmas more for the traditions and family. We don't have a lot of Christmas decorations, but our only religious one is the nativity I was given as a teenager, which I always put up.

  • In case anyone wanted to know- Santa Claus is COming to Town is on right now.
  • I like seeing the excitement of everyone in the moment of arrival threads.  I think you'd lose some of that tone if we waited to do a single thread later.  But that's just me.

Oh I know! Sorry, I probably worded that funny, I'm terrible with wwords recently. I'm just worried about how people will percieve me if/when I happen to mention something about it to them. I come from a pretty religious family (outside of my immediate family) and I'm in Mississippi where so much revolves around church - more than anywhere I've ever lived...so I'm really paranoid.

  • I spent 2 hours trying to figure out my gift to send to my person in my anniversary board exchange. Finding places that will ship to Canada and not charge a fortune or a Canadian website that had what I wanted to get her was extremely difficult for some reason.

  • LVB, "After all, tomorrow is another day."

I feel like that's the second time in just a couple of days that I've had to pull out that quote. I think I used it for myself about my crappy diet the first time.

Biscuits!!! num. And Tory is pretty darn cute when she does it. She runs around the forest and we tell her to find us the perfect tree. :)

  • I skipped working out again today in the interest of eating hot chinese food, and NOT having to shower and leave the house again to get it after a work out.
  • It's okay, LVB.  I'm eating the caramel corn MK gave me for SS.  It's delicious.  I regret nothing.

Oh man, Strlz -- that was one of my favorites as a kid.  Reminds me of my grandma, she loved it.

[QUOTE]I saw Tory playing in the snow. NBD. it was effing adorable.

:) It snowed again last night (all the snow before melted). She once again needed to stick her nose in it many times to be sure she remembered what it was. Silly dogs.

  • We always take Autumn with us when we go to cut down our tree.  She is bred for weight pulling.  I should get her a proper harness and let her pull the tree back to the house, LOL.
I think I'm going to put a fake tree in my living room since H isn't home to do the heavy work of cutting down our own.  It sucked the year I sprained my ankle the week before Thanksgiving.  I was only 3 days off Crutches and still in a brace when we went to pick out a tree.  We pretty much picked one close to the car at the first place cause my ankle hurt and I couldn't walk anymore.
  • I gotta go get E out of the swing he is just all out freaking out now. I will be back in a bit.
