  • Oh wow, he is beautiful, Dileni! He looks so cuddly.

That reminds me, I weighed Whisky last night and he's 8.2 pounds! He was down to 6 not too long ago so I'm happy he's finally fattening up again. I miss my chubby kitty.
  • Dileni - He's gorgeous!

  • They actually got a lot better, now its just long weekends & SOME weekends, before it used to be EVERY weekend.

They are getting married in 3 weeks or something (June 17th I believe), so we are hoping all the parties are wedding related and then hopefully it will die down after that haha. We are going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but if it continues after the wedding I'll start calling the cops again.

Usually we leave and stay at a friends or visit family (or it just worked out that we had plans) when they have their parties so we havent had to endure it all as much as usual but I hate having to flee my house everytime too.

  • That's absurd. You shouldn't have to leave your own home because people can't keep the volume at a decent level. People have no common courtesy.
  • Dileni, have you guys tried talking to them, rather than calling the cops or the landlord?

Morning everyone! I am so happy it is Friday since it will be quiet in the office, but it is FREEZING in here today.  I feel like I am going to turn into a popsicle.

Dileni, we used to have really loud upstairs neighbors.  When we first moved to DC, we rented a "condo" in an apartment building that the landlord didnt explain was primarily Section 8 housing.  The one-bedroom apartment had a massive family living in it, which I felt really bad about until they bought a huge flat screen tv and fancy sound system.  Since they didnt have it on a TV stand or something, everytime they watched tv (which was often) we heard and felt every sound.  We must have gone up there 50 times to ask them to turn it down, and we contacted the landlord, who told us to tell them to buy some carpets to keep the sound from traveling.  We didnt last long in that building.

Yepp we spoke to them a week or so before we called the cops on them. We told them that our bedroom is right below their living room so when they are partying all night neither of us can sleep & that we both usually have to work Saturday mornings so it keeps us up all night and they apologized but havent really stopped.<div>

  • ROSIE I've been meaning to look up which episode that is so I can watch it.  One of the producers here told me about it.  How long do you have to be in Nashville for?

  • cfas, glad your poison ivy is clearing up!

Dileni, we used to have neighbors that were really loud, but also really friendly, which made it better. But they disappeared about a month ago and have been replaced by two very quiet nerdy boys. Which is nice, but they're not as friendly... Maybe they'll warm up.

adamar, I am insanely jealous that you live close enough to Disney to go to Epcot for special things like that without having to make it a big trip. I <3 Disney. Take lots of flower pictures and share them afterwards so I can live vicariously through you?

Ugh.  I have a shower and a stag and doe (fundraiser stag and doe, shoot me now) tomorrow.  It's supposed to be super hot and sunny and it's the long freaking weekend.  I hate it when people plan stuff like that on long weekends.

Not too mention, my weekends from here until mid july are now filled with showers (baby and wedding) bachelorettes and weddings.  I WANT A WEEKEND.

  • Habs, can you just not go?  I would just not go.

Morning!  I was going to post in the SB good morning thread, but um....no.

I got to park for free for my labwork this morning because the ticket machine was broken, and I was only there for 15 minutes.  So that was awesome.  Dude just let me go.  The person who drew my blood did a horrible job though.  I've not been that uncomfortable during a blood draw for a really long time.

But now I'm fed and diet dr peppered, and even have a few minutes to relax before leaving for work.

  • Ahhh Habs that's how my July/August looks too (shower, FI's sister's wedding, bach party, camp I volunteer for, MY wedding). My friends keep saying "oh, it will be so nice to be back in the states before the wedding, you'll be able to relax!" and it takes every fiber in my body to not say "HA, yeah right".
  • I had to get blood work done the week before my wedding and like a jackass I let a student draw it. Well attempt to take it really, because I left here with two arms all jacked up looking like a junkie.

  • Eeeeee J & Rosie that makes my skin crawl just to think about. Not a needles person. The last time FI gave blood the nurse couldn't find his vein and bruised the heck out of him. They keep trying to get him to come back, but he's too scarred by that event.
  • I had a terrible experience with a brand new blood drawing person once, and I actually told her if she came near me with the needle again I would call the cops.  It was that bad (and I was an overly dramatic teenager, so there's that too).  I have really awesome veins.  There's no excuse.

Rosie, I'm good.  Really looking forward to this weekend.  Could use the days off.

ETA: I had a similar experience to yours, Rosie, with the blood drawing, only it was at college with Health Services.  I learned never to let them do it again.  The woman pushed the needle right through the vein and punctured it and left a four-inch bruise in the crook of my elbow.  I looked like a heroin addict for the next week.

  • Hah, J, that's a perfect response. Dramatic teenager or not, I like it.
  • Haha, I threw such a fit they ended up sending me down to my mother (a nurse at the same clinic) to draw it because I wouldn't let any of them near me.  Yeah, dramatic teenage girl, party of me.  But, I'll spare you the visual because it makes ME queasy, and I have a stomach of steel, but I lost enough blood in the process of her stabbing me that I almost passed out when I stood up.  I think I was fairly justified in my dramatic reaction.
