Re: TGIATW

• I'm listening to the 911 call from the Florida case where the mom killed her 4 kids and herself. The neighbors called 911 and told the dispatcher that 3 of the kids were bleeding and banging on her door begging for help. They wouldnt let the kids in. Makes me absolutely sick.

• Wait, button, what? Why the hell wouldn't they let the kids in? Are they insane or just heartless?

Yeah, but letting them in probably would have put them in danger, so I can see why they wouldn't.

I still can't quite wrap my head around that... Let them in and then barricade the door and get away from windows? I just think there's an obligation to do what you can to save someone's life, doubly for kids.

The neighbor was armed and the mother was still inside of her house, but I totally get the safety aspect. Its just that the neighbor shouted "get back, you're not coming in our house" as the kids are literally bleeding on their front steps and told the dispatcher the kids tried to "break in our front door." And since the neighbors wouldnt let them in, the kids went back home and were likely shot more.

• I'm cool with tattoos but drawing blood turns me into a big baby. I used to go to my dad's lab and his ex-wife would draw my blood, and she was actually good at it (I don't have the best veins for it, apparently). But now they are divorced and he's at a different lab so hopefully I don't have to get any more drawn because they can't do it.

Why did they go back home? Were there no other neighbors in the area? How old were the kids? That's odd that they would just go back to their crazy-ass mother when a neighbor doesn't let them in. I'd run my ass down the street, if I could. (I say that now, who knows how I'd react in the actual situation).

I get it being cautious but i'm sorry if a kid is bleeding at my door step i'm letting him in! I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing they'd come to me for help and i'd just hid in my house.

That's me too.

My health insurance called me last night with an automated message asking if I knew about all of these discount prescription programs they offer because they care about me. There was no option to talk to a real person if I wanted to know more and you were supposed to be able to leave your thoughts at the end of it but it just hung up. Twice. I wanted to tell them that if they really cared, they'd have real people call or at least have the option to talk to one.

• Good morning! Thank goodness it is finally Friday!
Tonight FI and I are going shopping for a birthday gift for his brother.

Tomorrow, we are getting our marriage license, going for a boat ride, hanging with friends, going to a baseball game, AND getting dinner/visiting the new casino that just opened in Cleveland. It will be BUSY!

It is supposed to be really nice this weekend so hopefully I get some time to go to the pool.

Am I missing something? Why do people have a long weeknd?

• We are going Wednesday to request our certified copy of the marriage license, I thought they just send it to you? How long does it take after you request it? I want to get started on all the paper work and stuff.

• Mari -- the town sent us a copy of the license within two weeks of our wedding.

Oh, see I thought they did that here too but apparently you have go and request it and then pay an additional fee.

• Ooh, Mari, thanks for pointing that out. I have no answer to that question, but Fi and I will need ours for visa purposes, I wonder how long that will take... man, the timing of this fall is going to be a nightmare.

That's when my bachelorette and FI's bachelor party is too! Just the Saturday though. That Monday we're moving more of my shenanigans over to his apartment and I'll be looking even more like I don't live at my house. Love it!
• Mari - we had to give them a self-addressed, stamped envelope when we went in to file it, so that was probably akin to "requesting" it.
