[QUOTE]I'm feeling pressure to clean my whole apartment before I leave because I have a cat sitter coming while I'm gone. That's crazy right? The cat sitter doesn't care when the last time I vacuumed was does she?

Do you want to come home from your super awesome trip to a dirty apartment?

That is why I always force myself to clean before I travel.

  • Dogs in the bed? The two little ones sleep with us. The two big ones sleep on dog beds in the room.

  • I am aiming for like, 2.5 hours of cook time with 30 minutes of just staying warm time.

  • Thanks mk and bay. I wasn't posting last night but I read a little bit later. Loved all the KUI ing going on. :)
  • I usually just pick up the house before we leave for trips so I don't come back to a mess but I don't vacuum or anything.
  • Our upstairs neighbors just got a baby puppy, and I love him so much.  It makes me sad that H and really know we have no time for a dog right now, because I really miss having one.  But with H's work schedule, and my never being home in an attempt to preoccupy myself, plus traveling out of state a lot to see my ILs, we really do not have the time to devote to a puppy or dog right now.

Our house will be a mess when we come back. I was going to clean this week but then I got sick. And of course FI didn't clean and doesn't think it's dirty. I told him he is going to help me when we get back.

  • Hi Petal! Hi all!

I'm hoping to get out of work early today, and we most likely will. Then ice skating, dinner and festivial of lights with FI!
  • That sounds like fun, Midge!
  • Our house is a mess right now :(

I get off work at 1, so I think I'm going to try to clean for awhile.  I also need to do some laundry - I've been wearing FI's socks for the past week out of sheer laziness.

We're hosting dinner for FMIL at our house tomorrow night, so it needs to be cleaned up before then.

FI and I are doing dinner and a movie tonight, so hopefully I'll get it mostly cleaned by then (at least picked up).

  • Midge that sounds really fun.

So FI just went out the door without turning on the alarm. It was on the instant setting so it just sounded like a freaking police car was in the house with it's siren going off. Poor cat ran and jumped so fast she is now walking funny. At least we know it works.

I've only been ice skating once and have decided that being on a thin blade over a sheet of ice is not in my best interest.

You know how when you fall you want to get up right away so that you can pretend people didn't see you?  Well, I took down my friend that was next to me and out skate blades got all tangled together.  We couldn't get up until her bf made it all the way around the rink to untangle us.

    It was really embarrassing.

*HUGS* Beanie!  That's what we're doing too!  Think of it this way: we're learning to treasure the moments that we do have.  They make them that much more special :)

  • I wish I could ice skate, it always looks like so much fun. I tried it one time and I couldn't keep my butt off the ice, haha.

  • Yup, The Festival of Lights is one of my most favorite things. I hope it doesn't get too warm for the ice skating though. I know I'll fall then if it's too warm, I'll have water all over me. :-p

Rachers, if you're here, I just saw your post in the Love Fest from yesterday! Thank you!

I am terrible and I don't really read TK all that much anymore, but is he working sunday?

Yeah I am not sure it is going to feel all that different. Despite the millions of "first christmas" ornaments we have been given.

  • Ice skating did NOT turn out pretty for me.  I'm lucky I didn't break my jaw when I landed on my freaking chin.

  • I love ice skating! I can do a few fancy things like skate on one foot with the other leg out behind, or the other leg lifted with my arm- but going backwards? Out of the realm of my abilities. I like to fool around and pretend I'm in the olympics when I skate. Now that I am old, I have to tape my shims so I don't get shin splints- lame, right? I have to go to the grocery store. I am dreading it with every fiber of my being.

Haha your poor H! That reminds me of my second date with FI but we were regular skating, I hadn't been in forever but thought i'd be pretty good still. Haha wrong! I fell, then I grabbed his sleeve and took him down with me, it caused a pile up... thankfully no one was hurt. After that we decided skating was not our thing.

Funny story, last year my mom got us a "First Christmas" ornament for our tree. Aw, nice :) This year? She bought another one and realized, like, a week after buying it what she'd done.

  • I love ice skating so hard.  I took lessons until I was 17.  The first year we were dating, my dad bought H a pair of hockey skates and we taught him to skate.  He's pretty good now.  But we never get ice here anymore.  Except last year, when it was buried under about 4 feet of snow all winter.  I'm hoping for some good pond ice this year.

  • Well Merry fuucking Christmas.  H just said he was going to buy himself an ipod touch when we get home (Which he had PREVIOUSLY stated he wasn't going to get because it's too big) and I said that he couldn't. Then he got all annoyed that I got him an ipod because "he wanted to pick it, the color and everything." WTF man. I asked him what he wanted and he said nothing! I'm so upset. He's not happy that I got him an iPod. jerk.
  • A girl I went to high school with posted a picture of their first christmas ornament which to me was funny because they aren't married (or engaged) and the little figures had a wedding gown on and a tux.

So what first christmas is that? It makes me confused.

  • I guess you have yourself a new ipod, Snippy.

  • I don't want it. I already have one, and I don't use it as it is. I had the damn thing engraved too, so I don't think i can return it.
  • That's funny TR. FI and I bought a penguin couple ornament and had our names put on it with the year "2011". I <3 it!
  • Gah that really sucks snippy, wow you even had it engraved? Gah I would be so pissed.
