Re: Le ghost town E...

  • I can't see it, but I'm thinking my work is blocking it.
  • Nope.  It's the dog I watch/walk.
  • Aw..  cute doggy.  She likes the snow!  And there really is nothing around you.

  • lol... yeah.  Nooooothing.  We're the last bit of our city before it turns into... well.... that. lol
  • That can be nice though, I'm sure.  Nice and quiet.  Maybe too quiet, though! ;)  Looks beautiful and COLD!

  • Awww adorable dog :) Katie loves to dig around in the snow which is bizarre because she hates water, and is a dog bred in Louisianna. I guess she's a Michigan/Maine dog at heart since that's where she spent most of her life.

H had to work 5am until 9am today so he's passed out and I'm procrastinating cleaning. My parents are coming over later for dinner but that is the extent of our company last year and I am so excited to just have a Christmas with H and I, and the little Berry.

The in-laws are coming over New Years day though, so I really should clean. I'm excited for bil to see our house finally! He left for his 2 year stint in Liberia 2 weeks before we bought the house and still hasn't seen it. We missed him on his last trip down here so I think the last time we saw him was about 8 months ago.
  • I knew you walked a dog, but I guess I also thought you had one, too. Anyway, she is very cute and seems to love the snow.
  • Yeah.  It's about 3F, and sustained winds around 15- 20 mph.  People have been told to stay home, apparently: http://www.thelocal.se/31052/20101224/. That's the county I live in.
  • Hi Katie!  At least he had the early shift today.  Man, I don't think I can ever go back to retail.  mmmhmm.

Nah, just her. :)  She's a handful.  Ever since we came back, she's been laying curled up in her dog bed, and I quartered up a sheet to put over her because she was shivering.

I wish I'd gotten a video of what she was doing last night, it was hysterical.  I was tossing snowballs into big drifts, and she'd go hopping into them, like a deer.
  • Snippy, won't you come join me for dinner? I think it would hilarious to see you around my inlaws. And I have SO MUCH FOOD!

  • Merry Christmas Eve!  I haven't read this yet?
  • I wish we had some snow on the ground. I haven't seen a white Christmas for a few years and of course, they are going to have one at home this year. I guess I will just have my parents take some pics and send them to me.

Sure!  But uh... why would it be hilarious to see me with your inlaws?
  • Yeah, and at least he has tomorrow off! He's in 6 day work weeks right now so while it sucks that he had to wake up early, it'sl ike getting a half day thrown in there.

We're supposed to get snow tomorrow :) Yay! This is the first time it has felt like Christmas weatherwise since I can remember.
  • Cause you're blunt. And she's....clueless. She's going to be SUPER butthurt. Cause uh...my cooking rocks. And if Dave ever says he really enjoyed something, she has to go make it, to prove she can make it better. And then she usually messes it up. This year, I'm making a lot of her recipies. And if Dave and her H say that they like it at all, she's going to get all moody and shiit. I'm really regretting inviting them over because of it.

  • I'm here but late to the party... Going to the ILs today for a Xmas party, staying over night and having a quiet Xmas at home with my mom tomorrow. Our boss surprised us all with iPads yesterday... And technically it's taking me 3x longer to type this message but I love playing with it. Waiting for Amy to finish her lunch than I will hose her off and get packing.

  • I'm here!  My FI gets home around 3, but I've had the day off.  My folks are taking us out to dinner tonight, which is great, but until then I'm going to play the Sims and watch trash TV.  The perfect Christmas.  lol

  • I want an effing iPad! Ok, not so much that I would buy one, but I would love one for free!

Do you have to pay a monthly fee or anything?

  • Amoro, that dog is a little bit of Christmas cheer.  So sweet!
  • That little dog is cute in the snow.

Snippy - Berners are HUGE.  But 50 kg is kind of on the small side.  I have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog (like a cousin - same coloring and size, but not fluffy).

  • I have to go get some stuff done.  Enjoy the day!  I may have time to come back later!
  • I'm working today, but we close at 6:00. I think I'll be going to a candlelight service with my parents unless I continue to be this exhausted. My eyes keep wanting to close. How embarassing would it be to fall asleep in church?

I finally finished shopping (just H and me this year; parents have "forbidden" us from buying them gifts, so we'll be inviting them over for a Greek feast sometime soon when the retail world settles down and we have time.

  • I am so jealous. I want to work for your company xyrius. An iPad! How sweet is that.
  • Dude, xyrius, an iPad?  That's an awesome boss you have.

Todd told me he was going to get me an iPad for Christmas before we decided to elope and buy each other wedding bands for Christmas.  I was like "Can I have an iPad as my wedding present, then?"  Cause I really want one.

My boss isn't working today, but her boss sent me a message a few minutes ago saying I could leave anytime I wanted after 1:00.  I'm pretty excited about that.  I was lurking SB earlier and saw these cake balls that AATB made, and now I want to make them for tomorrow.  And I can get started on Snippy's mulled wine early now, too.

Thats awesome! My dad also got an Ipad from his work for Christmas. Last year he just got a Fruit Basket. I guess he's upgraded :o) . . My mom has already guilted him into letting her have it. Hah!
My bonus from 'work' is that the horses I exercise behaved. Woo

  • Oh, Todd brought Mikey in to my office for a visit a little while ago.  He's 16 months old and I've never brought him in, so there was some debate as to whether or not I actually had a baby.  He hated everyone.  EVERYONE.  It made me laugh.  He's always really sociable and happy, and he came in here and did the baby equivalent of saying "You know what?  Fvck YOU, fvck YOU, and fvck YOU."

    I'm posting all by myself, aren't I?

    *runs through thread naked*

  • Dude, and ipad? I got a turkey. Don't get me wrong, we saved Lucas's sister having to buy a turrkey for dinner tonight, but jeeze.

I don't really want an ipad, I just get a little stinky hearing about other people's christmas gifts/bonuses when I got a 15lb bird. Oh well!

LVB all of the food you're making sounds delicious. I wish we were hosting the holidays this year. It'll be nice to relax at his sister's house though.

  • Your little one is so darned cute, Mel.  I don't think I'd mind if he showed up at my work today and said the toddler equiv of "Fvck you" to me.

I'm just sad that my patients are in a nursing home for Christmas.  I'm doubly sad for the ones whose families aren't coming to visit them.  :\

  • I can't wait until we move back home and I can cook for the holidays. Or our parents come down here. But that would be pure chaos if both were here at the same time, besides we don't have that much extra room for them all.
