I judge...

Re: I judge...

  • Lala, just pretend that apostrophe was an accent for fiancé, and you're good to go.

I judge some specific people who haven't RSVPed for our US reception yet or responded to my two follow-up messages because they all know better (ie. are married themselves or have siblings who are married) and because hello, regardless of what the event is, if you can read that it says RSVP, just freaking do it.

Won't let him hang out with the group of us if there's going to be girls there, won't let him go out past HER curfew. And on the weekend, she whined to him that my girlfriends and I weren't offering her drinks. But she is some sort of crazy.

dude. that's obnoxious. I have a friend like that too. she won't even let her boyfriend take a guys-only shot (the guys in our group love tequila and they go up to the bar to take it. I let them know how ghey they are). but she'll start having a fit about it. and when he goes out by himself to meet some friends, she's calling me all upset. I finally started letting it go to voice mail after 9.
  • and I mean, how'd he meet this 16 year old?
  • I judge people who ride bicycles on the sidewalk and don't move off it when there are pedestrians on the sidewalk. It's fine when there's nobody else on the sidewalk, but it's just not intended for bikes. It's not only illegal, it's annoying and dangerous. One guy actually grazed my arm as he whizzed by last week. I had a brief urge to just stick my arm out and clothesline him.

I also judge people who don't respond to text messages or return phone calls when they're otherwise completely glued to their phone.
  • Amoro, I responded. And I have to disagree with your judgement just because I like puppies enough that they erase all wrong-doing in my mind.

  • Ugh, P2 I hear you.  Our best man was dating a 19 year old (he was 27) last year.  I was really glad when that ended.  She wasn't in high school, but the college drama was nearly the same.

You know...he's a really awesome guy.
But he was born at like 5 months (or something absolutely crazy like that), and is really, really small...he looks her age. He's never had a girlfriend, so he's in that boat. I think he'd rather have a psychotic girlfriend than be single. You know?

And I've tried really hard to like her and see past her age. But it's really hard to be friends with someone whose position you were in TWELVE years ago. It probably wouldn't be that big of deal if she was 24 and I was 36, but she's not, and I'm not, and OHMYLORD. She drives me. I also judge her parents, who let her camp with her boyfriend all weekend, at the age of 16.

I judge people who cross three lanes of traffic to make a turn or have to slow to a near stop in the middle of the road to change lanes to make a turn. Just keep driving until you can safely merge, then go back. The turn will still be there when you get there, but this way you might actual get there alive!

  • I judge my dad for knowing that my 16 year old half-sister is a problem child and tells ME that I need to talk to her/hang out with her to fix her behavior.  Whose kid is this?  I'm not even close to her, never lived with her and I see my dad's family once every couple of months.

Ah.  I had a friend like that in college.  He was awesome, but not rolling in the women.  I can see why he's gone that depserate, but damn.  SIXTEEN.  She's not even legal!  Oh.  Wait.  Well, she's not legal in the US.  I don't know what the age is in Canadialand. Also, yes, those parents have problems.

Exactly.  These girls need West Indian mothers like Momma Moneypenny who would have locked me in my room and put the fear of God into me and potentially called the police on the 23 year old.
  • I'm hoping.

I also judge people who dye their hair red...when they don't have the complexion of a redhead, and it looks maroon and just bad.

I'd post a picture of a girl from my hometown who I happen to be referring to, but I'm afraid (because she just got married) that with my luck she'd been posting here and see herself.

and when I met H when I was 23, before she met him, she was not happy to hear he was 35. now she loves him more than she loves me.

Living near a university, I see this all.the.time. I plan on commuting by bike in San Francisco, so I don't have anything against cyclist in general, but it's just absurd how blatantly some of them disregard traffic laws and basic common sense.

To all you cyclists who wear helmets, signal, and stop at stop signs, a big hug for you.
