  • I know I'm late to this post, but I think 2 weddings is fine. I've seen many people done it before. I have co-workers that have two weddings. What they did is:

    - Have bridal shower.
    then
    - One wedding in their country (outside the U.S) for their parents, family and friends that are living there.
    then
    - Another wedding/reception in the (US) for the family and friends here.

    Although your reason for having two weddings is not the same as my co-workers; however there is nothing stopping you to have two weddings as long as you can afford it, have guests attending (can't really have a wedding if no one attends) and give you gifts.

    For me personally, having two wedding is too expensive and there is no reason for me to do it, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
