Retz is still being crazy.  She tagged her last post with "mean girls need not reply".

Lizzie, I'm sorry to hear that.  Hopefully it gets better soon.

  • I would happily send you all some heat and dry weather in exchange for cooler temps and rain.  The wind is starting to pick up which means my drive home will be fun - not a full on haboob but I have to drive over a dry river bed and the dust kicking through there is horrible.

  • Mari, you have a husband. Make him help clean.

  • Lizzie, I'm a geriatrician.

I went back and read the morning thread.  Retz is freaky weird.

Girlie, this is going to sound very ignorant.  But for some reason I never really registered that stuff like that happens in dryer climates.  I mean, I know it does (best example is the Dust Bowl), but they image had never really come into my head.  So now all I can think about is a blizzard but with dust instead of snow.

I am working on that, but his work schedule is so crazy when he's off i'm at work or vice versa. We should do it one evening after work, but it will take more than a few hours, we need a whole day to spend on it i'm afraid.

  • rsanna, this is what I have to look forward to during our monsoon season.  Driving in them is horrible.  And actually, you don't even drive in them - you just stop where you are and hope everyone else does the same.

That is freaky.  I have seen one thing like that once here, but it was with rain and clouds.  I will take a blizzard any day over that.  That just looks miserable and scary.

  • Oh, also, Adamar, I have a rake.  If I shake it, it might be as scary as a pitchfork, and I think it can be bedazzled.  I'll happily help if your ex isn't doing the right thing.  ;)

There are also cleaning schedules out there that allow you to clean parts of your house for 15 minutes a day during the week so you don't have to spend hours on the weekend doing it.

Or cleaning schedules that allow him to clean while he's at home, and you to clean while you're at home.  It doesn't need to be done at the exact same time.

Where do you find one? I guess I can google that, it would be great. He is always going on about how much other stuff he has to do, and he does work hard on other house stuff just not the cleaning so much.

Pretty damn scray IMO. A large group of girls shaking anything would be.
Fists, bottles, booty (ok, the last one maybe not, etc.

I lived in dorms and an apartment in college. I've been back home for 5 or 6 years though. I didn't used to have problems sleeping away from home, it's a new thing.

  • Hey!  H is home :)  SIL arrives tonight.  We went and got wings for lunch and then picked up cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for later.  I'm still full, but the cheesecake is calling my name :).
  • Most older people don't see a specialist.  I just see especially sick older people.  I love what I do, but most medical students are young and don't see the appeal of treating the elderly, so it's hard to make them interested in what I do.  Luckily I'm sort of ridiculously energetic in real life, and with my raspy voice, everyone felt sympathetic towards me and stayed awake for the lecture.
