My Step Dad ha a boa constrictor while we were growing up. We called him Hugger. We used to breed mice to feed him (my SD fed him, not me), but then he got too big so we had to get the frozen rats from the pet store. Unfortunatley he died about 3 years ago from a mouth fungus.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Do you wanna judge things? : Well, my grandma took one out when she was around 80 because she had terminal cancer and was going to die soon and just needed the extra income. Being 80 and a widow and all. It was for about half the value of her house, I think.

I don't judge the people who get them. I judge the companies who offer them and screw over the recipient.
• My FMIL and FFIL have goats and ducks and other various critters. She gets their feed from the local feed and seed store every other week or so. There is a man that works at this store that always kind of gave her the creeps, but she never really thought about it. Well, last Saturday she was in there and the only people working were this man and a younger guy. When the younger guy went to the back to get the feed for her the creepy man proceeded to expose himself and start playing with himself.

She wasn't going to tell anyone because she was so embarassed, but she wound up blurting it out to FFIL at dinner that evening. His first thought was to go feed the guy to the alligator that lives in a pond behind the feed store, but FMIL calmed him down and they decided to go about it properly and FFIL went and talked to the owner of store Monday morning.

This is where it gets really hairy.

We were still oblivious to everything at this point. My FI and FFIL run a construction company together, and one of the employees actually lives with FMIL and FFIL while he gets back on his feet. He was there at dinner Saturday night when FMIL blurted this out, so he knew about everything. Well, FMIL had called FFIL MOnday morning and reminded him not to say anything to FI. Then FFIL had to call the employee and tell him not to say anything to FI, and my FI just happened to be right next to him when the call came in and he over heard it and got nosy. All they would tell him was that a man messed with his mom, who is is super protective of.

Since he doesn't know the details he thinks that this is something going on today, not something that happened over the weekend., so he calls and tells me to keep an eye out and keep a gun close by (BTW we are out in the country on 75+ acres of land and live about 1/4 mile from his parents. Anyone going to their house has to pass ours, hence the keep a eye and a gun out. Of course, this was a day that I just happened to be off work). Then someone in the background tells him not to worry that it happened at the store not the house. Then, not even 15 minutes later there is a knock on my door and it is the police looking for FMIL. I direct him down then hill and immediately call my FI asking him WTF is going on, and he doesn't know and says that no one will tell, so please go check on FMIL.

I'm worried that this is something that just happen, and that maybe she got assaulted or something since it was something serious enought for the cops to show up. So I trot down the hill and she is perfectly fine, and then she proceeds to fill me in and then follow it up by telling me not to tell FI because she doesn't want him to flip out, and then wind up in jail. She was also quite pissed to learn that he knew anything, so she had to call FFIL and get him to go talk to him. I was all relieved because I thought I wasn't going to have to keep the secret, but they didn't tell him the whole story. He still doesn't know what exactly the man did, and I can't tell him. Thank goodness he hasn't asked. I don't know if he knows that I know.

This just really pisses me off because a couple of years ago someone tried to rape his aunt and she refused to tell her son for the same reason, and FMIL and FFIL were pissed and gave her an ultimatum to either tell him by xx time or they would.

• I completely forgot the whole reason the cops came into it. FFIL was going to let the store owner handle it, but he found out from the store owner that he has apparently done this before, and has even gone so far as to touch someone inappropriately.

When he talked to the cop, the cop knew exactly who had done it because he had been picked up for it in the past.

Exactly, I love my dog and if I got a bit of his fur in my food oh well I pick it out. If it's someone else's dog, eew. lol I don't expect people to NOT be grossed out by my dog.
• My ex-boss's crazy ex-girlfriend smuggled her dog into the theater to see Wicked. My poor boss was mortified.

• I will admit to bringing my dog a lot of places, but I would never bring her inside a store/supermarket/restaurant because it's just not appropriate. Then again, we do bring her to restaurants if there's outdoor seating - not a private patio, I mean like on the street, where any of Santiago's hundreds of thousands of street dogs could walk by, so I feel like a small trained, vaccinated dog that sits under one of our chairs isn't a huge deal.

I don't mind dogs at outdoor restaurants that allow them there, that I would expect. Some bimbo with her toy pet stuffed in her purse in the produce section, no thanks.

**EDITED because she actually WAS a bimbo, lol I'm not stereotyping.

Not necessarily, children can have meltdowns for various different reasons. They're tired, hungry, just cranky. It's how the parents respond to the tantrum that determines whether or not the child is spoiled.
• I judge the lady at the grocery store today. We were chatting about Baby Bee and she asked if I was able to stay home with her. When I said yes, she said that was great and that I should apply for WIC because I would get my cheese, milk, etc for free. I told her that I probably didn't qualify (w/o getting into any details) and she said, "You'd be surprised at how easy it is to qualify and you get like $75 a month. " I'm not sure if she was encouraging me to cheat the system or if she was judging me w/o really knowing my income status. Either way, I judge.

Absolutely true, I should have specified that it is when they are crying about toys.... in a toy store. Gee, kid, how lucky are you? LOL... I used to work there, so I always felt like those parents were making me (and the other workers and customers) suffer as they shopped leisurely.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Do you wanna judge things? : It's basically natural cider. It's like the dfference between real, thick mapel syrup and the Aunt Jemima sugar-water stuff. The "real" fermented cider is, uh, really fermented, rather than just flavored and colored. So it sort of has sediment in it. I've heard of people mixing it with water and drinking it because it's supposed to be not so caustic on tooth enamel that way.

Good idea on the water chaser, but you shouldn't brush your teeth right afterwards; the acid content on the teeth is higher and brushing helps it further weaken the enamel (which the acid does anyway, but over time).
