Hey dudes.

Re: Hey dudes.

  • Yeah, even though we've really only googled the area, I've fallen in love with it. We like how it feels kind of in a city but in the country at the same time and it looks very green. That would be fun, MP! :) If J gets into Clemson AND U of HI, we will have to battle it out for where we go haha.

  • MP when/where are you moving?
  • Heb - that was our initial hope, since she was only 20 when they started.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like that's the case.  I have heard that some people (particularly those who are diagnosed young) eventually grow out of it, but at this point it's looking pretty unlikely.

    Loopy, YGPM.

  • Holy balls that is a nice lake house.

  • It's gorgeous inside (the pictures don't do it justice).

Bay- I've heard of it happening. Never give up hope. Is she still allowed to drive?

  • H and I want to buy a mountain chalet at some point.  But I'll settle for a primary residence first :).

Stlrz, my uncle has a lake house in SC, too, a bit south at Lake Hartwell.

We're moving to Knoxville at the end of July.  I'm joining the SEC!  AHHH!!

MuSu, I would love to live in Hawaii.  But it might get old being so far away.  Doing it for 1.5-2 years though?  I think I could do that.

ETA:  I was trying to get DH to move to Oxford, England for 6 months while I did some PhD research, but he's not into it.  I guess we're getting to be old married people who just want to settle down.  He's so excited to move to a place where we can afford to buy a house.
  • Heb -- not for three months after each seizure.  She hasn't driven in about seven months or so now, because she's had a couple recently.

  • Alright, I'm off to get sunscreen! Have a good evening everyone :)

Heb, I love your sig pic!

  • MuSu- tell him the cost of living is just too high on HI. A gallon of milk is like $10.

Anyone want to weigh in on a dress for me? I'm in a friends wedding in August and she's having us each pick our own black dress. These are the two I ordered:

  • Yeah, my mom is all about the living in HI for a year thing. She's like just DO IT. I guess I'm a chicken shiiit and feel like being 9.5 hours away will be more difficult than like 4 hours. IDK. I'm a homebody though and hate being away from my family.

  • Thanks, Edie.  I'm excited!

Tortis, I like the first one better.  Is it super-duper low cut?

I like the second one better, because I like to wear chunky, showy necklaces and I feel like the ruffles on the first one would compete too much with a necklace. They're both awesome dresses, though!

  • MP, forget your H, I will move to Oxford with you.

Tortis, I like the Rosalind dress. It is more interesting. Also, my wedding dress was silk tricotine from J. Crew and it was a really nice, flattering material.

  • Edie- That's my problem, I like them both, I go back and forth.

MP- it's not that low cut, I just tried it on. I'd post a picture of me in it, but I look busted right now (studying means not leaving the house which means no makeup and my hairs a mess).

MuSu- I'm pretty tall, like 5'10, and I'll probably be wearing heels so closer to 6'. Neither of them is too short. I'm average size wise- like a 10/12.

  • Also, I think the Rosalind dress looks kind of terrible on the model but I'm sure it will look better on you.

OKAY!  His roommate from college is there right now finishing up his PhD, so I thought it might be an easy sell.
  • Edie- black.

I'm probably going to be wearing my wedding jewelry- just earrings and a bracelet, no necklace.

  • I still stand by the 2nd but the first is just NMS. I hate those kinds of necklines. But your body type sounds like it would work with either!
    image
  • Tortis, I'm totally jealous of your height!  I was just in a wedding and one of the other girls wore a similar style dress (with the ruffles).  She's nice and tall and looked really great in it.
  • Thanks, Heb :)

Tortis, I like the second one better, it's very classic.  But both are pretty.  (I am no help)

  • Hi y'all. Watching the Phish stream and petting the hound. I broke in the elliptical earlier.

Tortis, I prefer the second one, but they're both nice.
  • I think I'm going to have to actually do my hair and makeup and try them on to see how it actually looks. Which won't be tonight, because I'm lazy.

When I asked my mom and sister, they were split too!

  • Bay - YGPM back.

Tortis - I like the second one.

MuSu - 4 hours/9 hours - not much difference.  I have been 7+ hours away from WI home since I left for college.  I usually get home 2 times a year, but one year between weddings, a funeral, and my brother's graduation I was home like 9 times in 12 months.  The cost of airfare might be prohibitive to that much though.  And Skype is fun.  I'd totally do the HI thing for a year or two.  The time will go by so quickly and it will be an experience you will never forget.
