I had a gift card to staples left over from high school graduation, so it was like getting school supplies for free!  It was so much fun.

Oh and also, my uncle (mom's brother) got married in Hawaii ten years ago.  They were living there on Maui.  A month after their wedding, a shitton of rains came in and their house they were renting got flooded.  They lost a lot of things including their wedding photos.  My uncle came home to their dog sitting on the kitchen table to get away from the rains.

Anywhore, my uncle and my new aunt were both working awesome sales jobs at the Ritz Carlton and the Waikoloa Hilton and were making bank.  It sucked that they lost of a lot of shiit in the flood, but they were going to be fine.  They even got put up for free at the Ritz.

My uncle sent out a mass email to every single friend he had and all our family asking for money to help them out.  My dad felt bad but wanted to help a little.  My mom wouldn't let him.

A month after that, they both quit their jobs, and started their own company.

Lol, my mom still twitches when that subject comes up.

Any, have you looked into checking them out from the library?  Or even looking on Amazon.com?

I didn't buy any books my entire senior year in college because I would check them out from the library.

<div>Oh yeah, I'm definitely going to find a cheaper means. I do kind of want to keep them though, which is my only qualm about renting/checking out. I'm sure I'll find alternatives.</div>

Any you're a biology major right? I still have some of my old bio/chem/physics books.  If your school uses the same ones I'll send them to you.

I'll jump on the pyramid scheme hatred.  I got hit by it yesterday.  Luckily, most of my friends that do it have either moved away or just stopped doing it.

  • Books were the worst part of school for me.  You'd have to budget at least $1200 per semester for bloody books.  AND they usually changed volumes every year so buying used was impossible.  Fuckers.

  • OK, I feel better then. It's always a concern of mine.

I love Pampered Chef stuff, but it's too expensive. One day though, when I have money, I'm buying the shiit out of their pots and pans.
  • I have some silpada jewellery that was gifted to my from my SIL.  She has a few friends that sell it.  There are some gorgeous pieces for sure, but so expensive.  I actually lost one of the earrings and felt horrible because it was so expensive.  I'd rather inexpensive stuff I don't feel bad about losing.

  • I thought my books were bad.  I only had to pay about $500 for them.

My cousin was diagnosed with non-hodgekins Lymphoma almost 25 years ago and was only given 10 years to live (one bone marrow transplant, hep-C diagnosis (from the blood transfusions in the 80s before they tested for it), liver cancer and a subsequent liver transplant later) and he is living life to the fullest.  He works the L&L foundation a lot and raises a ton of money for them.

With that said, I donate to Team in Training often and I'd be happy to donate it to your cause this time!  Send me your link.

  • I'm pretty sure my biology book is the same, but is the 7th edition.  I could send it to you and you could see if it'll work.  Or you can have this one to keep and rent the one you need?

  • I judge my pregnant facebook friend - a girl I went through school with - who not only makes a post just about hourly, but at least once a day writes something to the effect of "omg, so hungry, I wish someone would bring me a [insert food request]." One time she made a request of "I wish I could have a 4D ultrasound but I can't afford it. Can ne one buy me one?" - someone actually bought her one.  Also, not surprisingly, she hosted her own babyshower inviting about 100 people. Her helpless and whiny entitlement requests make me cringe. She further posts personal pregnancy related questions that she should be asking her doctor.

I judge people who can't keep their cars clean, particularly the inside.

I judge people who complain, and complain, and complain about their job, but won't look for a new one if it's that freakin bad!

  • LOVE IT, Froggie.

I have some Tupperware that I love, like this and this.
  • Any, new plan.  You come party with me in KC and just take all my old text books home with you.  Win, win.
