Mica that sounds like heaven in a tiny little cup.

Wow JK you'd think they'd have a little more discretion when they hear where you work.

  • That is really annoying, J. She sounds awfully bright.

MK I think she's insanely busy with her new job. :(

Well, we're still relatively new to the area, but when I say an agency with "family center" in the name, and say I'm there to "work with" a student that is WELL KNOWN in the school for having behavior issues, yes, you would think so.  AND DUDE.  EVERY WEEK.

  • J - I really dislike the people at my sisters school. I have gone to pick her up and there have been three different women that checked her out. None of those women checked my ID or anything. How the eff do they know I really am her older sister? I know she's in HS but STILL. Have some safety people.

  • J, I can't believe she even asked that. Confidentiality is serious shiz!

Yeah, that was kind of my point. Also if you have a standing appointment with the kid you would think there would be some kind of visitors log of people they know are coming in to school that day. You know, "You're not on the list" kind of thing.

<div>I thought this about the school the little girl I babysat went to. It was an elementary school and I picked her up in the carpool line. No one ever asked to see a note from her mom saying I was there for this child or my ID or anything and I was in a car, easy get away. </div>

That was one of the best times of my life. We also got to visit Portugal and Morroco while we were there. And lots of little day/weekend trips around the Andalucia region.

My sister and I went to go pick up our youngest sister from school a few years ago to go say goodbye to my Granny before they took her off life support and the school gave us the hardest time. I was like, "wtf. My dad called and told you we were coming, I showed you my ID. If you call my sister down, she can tell you we're not kidnappers. Effing get her so we can go say goodbye to our grandmother." I totally support school safety, but I think they were taking it a little far. So I guess there are schools on both sides of the spectrum :)

We just got back from our softball game. We had to play in the rain (yuck.)

So we're just eating some dinner and I'm uploading my wedding pics (they got here today!) YAY!

I seriously think she had no idea what was going on.  Maybe she's like the chick from 50 First Dates, and every day she forgets the previous day.

Haha I guess i must just live in an ultra safe school area because when I was in pre-school and kindergarten, my Nana, who picked me up at least once a week, wasn't able to get me without a note from my mother and like 4 forms of ID.

Does she actually work there? The term greeter makes me think of some PTA/Room Mom volunteer.

Yup, she does.  They actually pay someone to sit inside the door and interrogate people.  I was baffled by it the first time I went there.

    Hi crash!

I'm getting sleepy and want to head off to bed to watch Dexter soon.  Yes, Dexter, excellent pre-bedtime tv.

Hmmm wonder what kind of hourly pay that gets you.

  • My mom just called me and I got distracted. Apparently she came home today and my brothers were gone with their friends already and Tory and I were gone. So she called me because it was too quiet and she already missed me being there, lol.
    image
  • Mica I'm jealous you have Dexter access.  FI and I used to watch it through, shall we say, "international channels" on the interwebs, but the U.S. Attorney's Office has pretty much shut them all down now, so no more Dexter for us.  (That's what we get for being cheap, I guess.)
