Although Felicity did have a horse.

    Tough call.

Oh, and no one else said it so I will -- like Eagles I have a soft spot for seesaw girl. And I do think it was because of the mess of a thread about the doctor and LDY's mind being completely blown.

I loved those! I would save my money from birthdays and holidays to buy them. Recently, we put one of the outfits on one of our cats on Halloween, just to see if it would fit. She was PISSED and we took it off after a minute.
  • I forget her name, but I had the pioneer American Girl doll. One of the originals. I got all sorts of sweet accessories, and my mom made her some little pioneer dresses.
  • If Satan has a list of favorite foods, I'm pretty sure grits are towards the top.  Right along side of Cream of Wheat.

I think that was Kirsten or Felicity. Kirsten was blond, Felicity was a redhead.
  • Where's Kcs?  I wanted to tell her about my newb med students.  They are so green, it's adorable.  I am so excited about her starting soon.
  • Kirsten was the pioneer girl, and also a Swedish immigrant I think. Or something along those lines.

Felicity was during colonial times and the American Revolution.
  • Molly was WWII. Addy was from the Reconstruction Era.
  • Yes, Kirsten! My mom picked her because her last name was the same as my maternal grandma's maiden name.

As kids, we were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. The year I got the doll, I only had two packages under the tree. Since one was enormous, I tried to open that. My parents told me no and handed me the smaller gift: gloves.

All night, I was pissed that I got gloves as a Christmas present. The next morning, I was thrilled. THRILLED. I was so busy playing with my doll, I didn't even notice my brother had stolen my candy from my stocking.
  • I think my Felicity doll is in a box somewhere. I saved all my toys. I'll be pissed if I don't have someone to give them to someday.

She was the African American doll.
  • Liesel, your first name isn't Liesel?  Awww, I was enjoying picturing you in the Sound of Music.

Come to think of it Liesel was my mom's dog's name growing up.  They had mini dachshunds and gave them all names like Liesel, Freida, and Ermentrude (Trudy for short).

I was going to say token black girl. Cookie's answer is significantly less offensive.

  • Addy was the African American one. She was the only one for a long time, too, and now there's a black girl from New Orleans, I think? My flower girl has a few dolls so I got her some of the accessories as her gift and spent a while looking around the American Girl Doll store. They have all new dolls now.
  • I had Kirsten, Addy, Josephina, Felicity, and 2 "American Girls of Today", which I made to look like me, and then an Asian girl.

Eh, I started to say, "you're totally racist for not knowing that." but I didn't know how well that joke would go over.
  • I have my Samantha doll in my closet at home, complete with a trunk full of her clothes.  I'm keeping it for now, and thinking that I'll have a daughter one day who will play with her.  I also loved all of those books.  I find it funny now that there are so many different American girls and the giant stores and all.  It was just a catalog from the Pleasant Company back in my day.

  • I'm back mica.  And I smell a lot better.  I've been using my lasy days of freedom to lounge around in my PJs, but decided it was time to get showered and dressed.

  • I had all the original dolls, Josefina, Kit and then one that was supposed to look like me. I think they're still at my parents' house somewhere.

Acceptable.  It is a rather good pet name.

I had to buy my Felicity a new head because I messed with her hair so much that it turned into a straight-up rat's nest.

  • Is this the afternoon thread, then?

I have no flames, I feel like anything I could have flamed has been talked about already or was flamed when it happened.

Grits are the bomb, although my ILs thought they were disgusting. I will miss them when I'm gone.

I just got back from spending the majority of the day with an old friend that just had a baby. I ran into her at the post office and she invited me over to her place. She is going to talk to my parents about moving into the basement when I leave. EIther way, I'm just excited I got to spend so much time with such a cute little baby. He's like, 6 days old.
  • I never wanted the dolls, but the Addy books were my favorite.

  • Oh, the books were the best part! I was a spoiled little child, though, so of course my parents had to get me all the dolls and their furniture, too.
  • Yeah my grandma always got me one for Christmas for several years and she always had to get the catalogue to order anything. I'm sure you can order it all online now too.

I have the American Girl Doll bunk beds, and my cats sleep on them. I mention my cats too much. Gonna work on that.
  • There was a huge American Girls sale in Middleton, WI every year and that's how I got most of my dolls and clothes. We eventually collected all of the originals and had so many fun accessories for them. It's too bad that the company is totally different now. We had some of the kid-size clothes too. My sister and I both got nightgowns (Kirsten and Samantha) one year for Christmas and it was SWEET.

I think all of these dolls were after my time.  The cabbage dolls were the it dolls when I was a kid.  Damn, I'm old.
