Hello?

Re: Hello?

  • Aw that's so sweet, Lizzie. I wonder if my great grandma wrote letters to my great grandma when he was away in WWII. I will have to ask her.

  • Wally- Love the gift idea

Leisel- I find it odd they didn't get you a card or something...

My parents and H's parents both pitched in, and both gave us gifts. My parents would gave us one before and then after. Literally they went way overboard and everytime I cried my eyes out.

[QUOTE]Haha Wally! Not sure if stellar is the word, but it went well and a few hours after it was over, the clerk called and told us the judge was drafting an order and it was in our favor, so we won! The judge is definitely a stickler and a hard ass though and was pretty tough on me. My supervising attorney later said that he was impressed with my ability to stay smooth and not let it affect my performance. It can be awkward but you just have to remember that the judge does it specifically because she knew that I'm a student attorney. I'm also pretty easygoing, so that helped.

<div>YAY!</div><div>Very awesome. And that is good the judge busted your chops a bit. Will make you even better next time. </div>

  • No picture of kitten, sorry.

MuSu, yay for court going well!  And I'm excited to meet Willow and Tory.

  • Musu, I'm glad court went well! Good work :)

Heb, my parents have gone so overboard with gifts, too. They're just really generous, I appreciate it so much. Plus my mom just LOVES to give presents for random occassions. So we got a lot of wedding gifts disguised as "Flag Day gifts" haha.

</div><div>I love the fact that they respect the profession enough to challenge students!  My sister will call me on a random basis and toss me questions about diseases.  It's challenging to answer some of them, especially at 6am.  It really doesn't piss me off too much, though.  I figure I'll have to think on my feet while tired as a Trauma nurse.  Might as well do it with an accomplished back up than to fvck it up without a wingman.</div><div>

  • Lizzie that is so sweet. I had a picture of my granparents around my bouquet too. I knew they were there with me that day.

  • Haha I was totally spacing out when we introduced ourselves for the court record and the judge was like "when you address the court YOU WILL STAND!" Hahaha I was simultaneously like "oh fuckballs" and kind of amused for some reason.

    just like my cousin vinny!
  • This week is not going well. Elliot and I ended up going for sushi happy hour. Two martinis made it a bit better. But seriously, these kids can not hold their business for 3 hours of summer school. I know it's the last week, but where the EFF is the respect? Ugh. End rant. Good evening!

<div>lol I think the whole process of people caring so much for H and I was too much for me to handle. I was so emotional when opening cards and gifts I literally had tissues setting beside me. I never thought we were going to get what we did. It was just a very touching experience.</div>

  • Yeah, I think she just wanted to be sure that I got a taste of what a strict judge was like. I would much rather deal with the mistakes now while I'm a student than when I'm licensed and should "know better". The court reporter was really awesome and we talked afterward about what I did well and what I could do to improve my questions etc for the record.

[QUOTE]Lizzie: that is very sweet.  My mom has all the letters my dad wrote her while he was serving in Vietnam.  <strong>It is super cute, she has them all tied together with a ribbon.  Every 10 years or so I catch her reading them.</strong>

I only got three hours of sleep last night. Probably not going to last long.

Actually my parents weren't married at the time. My grandparents were married before WWII and my grandfather ended up being a POW for a year.  So my grandmother insisted my dad wait until he returned to propose, so my mom wouldn't have to go through that worry.  Odd logic but he agreed.

  • Someone in the city lit a paper lantern. like the ones in Tangled It has royally confused the masses out on the street, a crowd of about 5, including the old hippie that lives two doors down from me. This is better than NBC's Olympic coverage. Sometime city living has it's perks.
