Mica, FI can't either.  He has to shower and then put on a clean shirt and boxers.  He has a touch of ocd.  (I mean that literally, not figuratively.) Still though, Whit, who gives out anyone's cell phone to someone else?  I'd never do that.  I'd tell them "give me your number and I'll ask her to call you"
...fish from a box?  How does that work?  Is it dehydrated or something?
Posted by kimheartsscott
<div>It might have been from a can or a bag. I'm not sure. haha. I just know it was not fresh fish. </div>

• H always puts on boxers after sex before we sleep too.  I can pass right out.

Whit - I'd be pissed too.  That's just not cool.
I have to wear shorts & underwear to bed.  Not that my shorts cover all that much but maybe it's just<strong> the whole "if there's a fire I can run right out of the house" thing</strong>.  I dunno, I'm a prude.  Plus our cat sleeps with us and don't want anything getting scratched.
Posted by LaBellaVita23
It's weird but I only feel like this when H is not there. I must have shorts on then. I guess I don't care if I have to run outside half naked if H is gonna be there with me?  Weird.

My shameful confession is that it makes me sick to watch my coworkers eat lunch. They order the worst things ever. Mostly fried, smothered in all kinds of gross sauces, bacon-wrapped everything. I think I've gained 3-4 pounds since I started 2 months ago, just from indulging in some of the desserts and slacking at the gym. But they do it all, every single day. I can't take it anymore.

• Tracey, I obviously have my own food issues, but it makes me sick to watch MIL eat. She's an obese diabetic with other major health problems, and she lacks table manners.

Our first TG together, we ate at my parents' house, with plans to swing by and see MIL. She asked that I bring a few slices of my pumpkin caramel cheesecake. I handed her the container when we walked in, expecting her to put it in the fridge. No.

She threw the lid across the kitchen and ate three slices of cheesecake WITH HER HANDS. It was a scoop-and-shovel motion.
• this isn't a confession but a need to sort of release...

We had two turtles...one I bought for H for our first dating anniversary (over 7 years ago) and one H found as a baby about 3 years ago.

The baby one got sick and died a month ago.  Tonight H found his older turtle's leg got sucked into the filter tube.  It is all red and swollen.  I went to the pet store and got a guard (sponge) for it, so it won't happen again...but, understandly H is worried about him.

I really hope our turtle's leg gets better....I know H can't take losing another turtle.

That's seriously gross. She couldn't have at least taken the time to get a fork?

• Angel, I was not yet fully aware of the amount of crazy contained in one person. I was horrified. The horror only grew in the following years. I'll find you a link.
• thanks ladies....

H seems relieved I went to the pet store and got the guard...he said now he won't be worried all day at work that he got stuck again...

but so much for going to bed early.

Special, your inlaws scare me.
• I have not heard of a more terrifyingly awful person (outside of people who commit serious criminal acts) than Special's MIL.

• You're telling me, Mica.

MIL has removed all doubt regarding whether I'll ever tell her any personal information. She's broadcasting BIL's wife's medical information ALL OVER THE PLACE. She tels every family member, her entire church, and total strangers. I doubt her DIL has any clue.

<div>You have no idea how much this means to me. The rest of my ILs act like she's normal. Thank you for validating me. The support I've gotten here, plus the therapy, plus the drugs, help tremendously.</div>
• Special's in-laws scare everybody.

Holy crap, Special, your MIL is a loon. AND she steals? Also, I see that Anna suggested you get Xanax and I remember you saying recently you had to refill your prescription... is that why you have it? The woman is SO AWFUL that you have to take benzodiazepines to be in her vicinity? What is wrong with this woman??

• special that is crazy!!!!!  H tells his mom a lot about me....i am always surpised when I get random phone calls from her "Heard you are sick" or "heard you are working late tonight"....it creeps me out sometimes...

however it does not creep me out as much as Christina Aguilera's boobs are creeping me out right now (anyone watch The Voice?)
• I swear, Special, you should be nominated as DIL of the year for not flipping your shiit on her.
• It seems to me that a bunch of your ILs are a little ..'off' themselves, which might be why they don't see it. Or they're just in denial.

<div>She stole from an open house when SIL was househunting. She steals her grandson's birthday and Christmas gift cards. The local library has a restraining order against her. She has stolen from our house. (She has not set food in our house in almost  two years.)</div><div>
</div><div>Yes, Anna was instrumental in pushing me to get Xanax. As for what's wrong with MIL, the full story is so unbelievably awful, you'd want to run her over.</div>
• My MIL never hesitates to tell me she's happy with just one grandchild (her daughter's), and I thought it was just a snub to me. But now she's been telling her daughter the same thing (and she's actively trying to get pregnant!). My in-laws are just hateful.
image
• Special, I'm kind of amazed your H even wants to have a relationship with her after all that. Yikes. I hope you don't have to see her too often.

And the stealing of her grandson's gift cards is especially low.

• I did flip my shiit on her once, when she kept harping on about us having kids. (We're not going to have any.) I finally told her my uterus, its status, and its contents were none of her fucking business.

Now she tells everyone I hate children.
• Oh, Special!  That visual with the cheesecake is incredible!  Your MIL is a real gem.

I too have lingering food issues from being a heavy kid and young adult.  But the people here just blow my mind sometimes. It's just the culture here.  Today, a lady brought in one of those big, clear plastic containers to share (you know, the kind that have cheese balls or pretzels in them?) except this one had pork rinds!
