Night people bat signal

Re: Night people bat signal

  • It feels like I just got an oil change, but I did do an insane amount of driving over Christmas break.

[QUOTE]Loopy ain't that the truth! Not that anyone has that kind of money to drop easily but I'm kind of stressing about it since I literally only have a depleting income that I spend basically on bills, food, and gas and very few fun "extras". So I have no idea where that money will come from.

I hate this feeling too!  I've never had to deal with this before.  But we spent my last paychecks/vacation cash out (from Oct.) and my savings on wedding and living expenses for the last quarter of 2011.

It's gone now and thankfully H got his loan money for the new semester but it's dwindling...fast!

  • I was just thinking...  I'm sure ice cream would help my neck and back feel better.  I got all excited, got to the freezer.  NO ice cream.  DAMN.  just some chocolate crap H likes.  Now what?

  • Haha I know Loopy, it still just seems so soon.

Anyone else watch Idol?  I forget who watched it last year.  I don't know how into it I'm going to be this year.  I feel like I'm just kinda over it.  But I love the judges now.

  • Good for you Holly.  I was tired and hungry so I skipped working out again today :) .  I'm going to bed early tonight though.  Hopefully that'll make me feel less gross tomorrow.
  • Kelly I think a quick trip to the store for wine and ice cream is in order.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Yeah it is definitely a stressful feeling. We live off of loans so until the summer, I have only loans. Unfortunately I am not at all near my end of car payments, haha. I have like 4 years left on the loan (I got the car at 30,000 miles on it). It just seems to be that time for everything to get replaced.

  • I *think* my cousin may have had her baby.  Someone posted a congratulations message on her wall, but I haven't seen any pictures or official announcement yet.
  • I watch Idol too, but we'll see how invested I am once the auditions are all over. It is on in the background now.

  • I never watch Idol until sometimes Hollywood week, and then I usually tune out again cause I can't watch that many nights a week.

KJB - I wanted ice cream tonight, but I don't have any either.  I almost bought a couple of single servings at hte store today, but they weren't on sale so I didn't.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Night people bat signal : I totalled my first car (rear ended someone) the first month after I paid it off, before i'd had a chance to save up a downpayment or any extra towards the next vehicle.  Right back to a car payment.  Ugh.

Oh no!  That's awful, Loopy!  I have had this uneasy feeling that H or I will be in an awful wreck here. And I can't shake it.  I hate driving in this town.  I'm more fearful about being seriously injured (or worse) though.  I didn't even think about the car thing. If something happens to either car, we'd just have to do without it.

I snapped this lovely shot today while stopped in a makeshift detour through a construction zone.

  • Hey!
I feel like I've been MIA all week. Between work and house stuff I'm pulling my hair out! I honestly cannot wait for Monday because that will mean that we're in our house and we're done moving! Yay!

Musu-I hate car repairs, but my car has double the miles of yours so I always end up feeling like I'm spending my "new car money" to fix my car I don't even want anymore. But I enjoy not having a car payment way too much.

I can understand that! My first car before this one was my mom's old car and so it was paid off by the time I got it. I miss that free car, even if it did die on me.

  • I love babies, too, but I don't know if/when I'll get to see this one in person.  Due to circumstances of which I don't know all of the details they might be going to Mexico (most likely permanently) sometime soon.
  • Yeah I feel like the auditions show much less than they used to in past years.  i love that Drew Carey's daughter was on though.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • You mean Jim Carrey? Lol.
    image
  • Haha and yes Kelly, but I thought maybe if there were 2 things you wanted you might make an exception.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • I like that she is trying to be as "normal" as possible, because we all know that if she really wanted to, her dad could get her some sweet gigs. It is nice that she is taking the route that everyone else would have to.

  • That's one of the reasons I was glad I was out of work when my nephew was born so I didn't have to worry about taking time off to go see him.  Despite the fact that each of my 3 bosses (from the previous job) had kids, I don't know how generous they would've been with time off to go see him.
  • Oh man, I totally thought it was Drew Carey's daughter.  That's what happens when I only half pay attention.

I will probably drive this one until it doesn't drive anymore. <div>I tried convincing myself that I needed to trade it in while it still had some value left in it but I can't make a decision like that until/unless my hand is forced. </div>

  • My car is currently at almost 51,000 miles on 40,000 mile tires. I'm waiting for our tax return to get new ones. We should have it by the end of the week. Hopefully that means next week I'll have new tires. I also have some other work that needs to be done that I'll get done in the next few months.

I got two containers of  chocolate mint chip ice cream delivered today because I was reading the knot while I was ordering last night.  And no orange juice
  • I stopped watching AI when Simon left. Watching the bad auditions was also my favorite part.

  • Holly I never think anything of it because I'm pretty sure they make them write down a ton of info before trying out.  I feel like they pull out random info from papers during auditions.  Kinda like in Jeopardy where people's intros are the most random thing ever.

I feel you... in the last 3 consecutive trips to the grocery store, I've managed to remember to buy my Ben & Jerry's (Red Velvet Cake ice cream... SO good and no food coloring, so I'm not allergic to it!) but have failed to remember to buy milk.
  • Holly -- I think the show milked it on purpose.

Crash --- I will probably drive this one til it is at least almost dead too. Well, that or until fixing it will cost a sum that would be more worth putting toward a new car.

I got new tires in Oct 2010, and they were BADLY needed. I have no idea what the previous owner did to these tires since my car only had 30,000 miles on it when I got it, but man, they were bald as hell.

Yes, I pretty much stopped watching when they decided they wanted to be a "kinder, gentler idol" a while back. They sucked all the fun out of it for me.<div>
