[QUOTE]I've used Mane 'n' Tail too, that's not the part that sounded horrible to me. Just the combing part. My hair is really prone to tangles and I've always hated combing my hair.

<div>It wasn't so much the horse mane and tail part but the detangler. And that it would be so bad that what would be necessary for a horse would be required to get out the tangles. I've almost cried from brushing certain tangled knots out of my hair (and that's just from sleeping on my stupid curls) so that's what I was reacting to.</div>
  • Box braids are the ones where the top is a box and they are regular flowing braids. I have a stupid shaped head so cornrows although fun, would look stupid.

  • I haven't really seen anyone who hasn't worn dreads well, so I guess for the most part it seems like the people that have them know that they can pull them off.

Ok that still made no sense to me so I had to google image it, lol. I get it now though! I did box braids once as a senior in HS because it was our HS tradition for all senior girls to box braid their hair on Homecoming friday.

  • Things hatching in monster dreads. Lovely. Haha.

On that note, I'm gonna go lie down and stop thinking about hair until my appt tomorrow. Have a good night, ladies!
  • I used to work at a vegan rasta restaurant, and I always wanted the Jamaicans to take off their dread hats so I can see their lovely hair. Alas, I never asked them to. I did get to see my boss' an co-workers- so amazing to see them knee length.

  • Loopy I did most of the pushups from my knees, but l did them all. Someone else asked me about it being a crossfit workout. I have no idea. It just seemed like a workout I would enjoy. I almost gave up after the third set, but made myself do the rest.

  • Knee length? Holy buckets.

  • Midge- what's our availability this week? We have a pull out couch, or hotels a block away. I'm pretty open. Musu- that pic is great! Kalpi- Have a good night and happy haircut tomorrow!

  • I just made homemade marshmallows.  Very delicately flavored with cinnamon and vanilla.  I gave one to H, and his first comment was that he hates cinnamon.  Nevermind that a homemade marshmallow is like a tiny cloud dissolving on the tongue.

    Oh well, more for me.
  • Thanks guys... it took a crazy long time to do because of how much hair I had. My friend in the pic was the one that braided it for me. She also braided it when we camped in the mountains for a week in Montana since we couldn't shower so it was easier just to keep them in braids. It was DISGUSTING to take out 7 days later though.

  • From what I've seen of crossfit workouts, it wouldn't surprise me.  Glad you did them all.
  • What should I do on my day off on Wednesday?

  • Mica - I have never had homemade marshmallows.  They sound delicious.  You can send them here.

MK - That workout sounds seriously hard-core.  I take it you shook off your work-out "blahs" from last week.
  • MK, start off by sleeping in. That's my suggestion. :)

Nicki, unfortunately I'm booked solid this whole week. I'll actually be in wrapping land again tomorrow night. ;)
  • I might try to alter a marshmellow recipe to make my own. Vegan mellows are just too expensive!

  • Hi all.
I haven't read anything yet.   I just finished eating dinner.  I tried a new recipe from pinterest... Cilantro lime shrimp.  It was amazing.
Now I'm trying to convince myself to finish wrapping presents.
  • I need to get into wrapping land.   But I think I missed my chance to get my box o' goodies to my brother and SIL in CO before they leave for WI, so I'm no longer in a hurry LOL.  They can get it when they get back :).
  • A little bit Meg. That's the only one I've done since then. I want to run tomorrow, but we'll see how that goes.

    Progress.

So Wednesday, you can sleep in.  Workout - or at least go on a nice, long walk.  Maybe watch some Love Actually and wrap gifts.  Those are things I would do with a day off.
  • Nicki -- check out this recipe, which uses agar instead of gelatin.  I might try it in the future.  I hate thinking about gelatin and am used to using agar from when I was a kid (we called it Chinese jello).

  • All right.  I'm heading for bed.  It's been a fun evening all!  Thanks for the company :).
  • I wish I had Love Actually Meg. Every Christmas I want to watch it, but I don't have it. I'm sure I've got some other chick flicks to wrap myself up in.

I wish I could sleep in too, but the dogs only let me sleep until 7am at the latest.

  • Good night all! Sweet dreams. :)
  • Mica that looks pretty easy! We don't have a stand mixer (that's what I picture this recipe needing) we have an electric hand one. And a vitamix. I picture this ruining and perma-sticking to the vitamix. You think the hand held electric one would work?

  • Good night, Loopy!

I love watching Love Actually this time of year.  I think tomorrow night, or maybe Wednesday night while I bake cookies I will do that.  Tonight I am watching the SNL from Saturday night on my DVR.  Jimmy Fallon is the host - its pretty funny.
