Good morning!

Re: Good morning!

  • Mmm.  Zips burgers.  Arthur's also has a delicoius Boursin burger and craft beers on tap.  Now I'm hungry.
  • Rosie - the seating chart caused H, my mom and I not to speak for a good half an hour.

  • One of the main reasons I'm doing a cocktail reception is so I don't have to mess around with a seating chart. I don't know if I could handle that.
  • i <3 LDY. You guys know that? <3
  • I had no seating chart, and it was glorious.  I probably had the most laid back wedding ever, though.  It was awesome.

Don't go into cocky like I did. I thought I hammered out a decent list until FI, my mom, and FMIL ripped it apart. And then we realized that I had forgotten 15 people. Speaking of which I need to pull out entree choices for my final walk through at the venue tonight. crapballs forgot that was my goal today.

I JUST WANT TO BE MARRIED ALREADY DANG IT.

He's good, thanks for asking. He's back on all 3 meds and hasn't thrown up in a few days. I take him in for another checkup soon, but for now he seems content. He doesn't do much anymore though, just sleeps and occasionally wakes up long enough to find me or H and either meow for food or go to sleep on our laps. I'm just enjoying what time is left, however long that might be.

But yesterday he did play with me for a few seconds. It was halfhearted and short lived, but I loved all 4 or 5 seconds of it.

He's a Beagle mix :) My suspicion is that he's mixed with Corgi, but we're not sure.  When I see Corgis I see characteristics that he has, but the Beagle definitely comes through the most.

I'm currently in a stressful battle with my mom and aunt on if we should assign tables or not. They are against it, almost to the point of ridiculousness.  My mom claims she doesn't like being told where to sit, but I don't think she realizes I'm going to be telling her where to sit no matter what because we have to at least reserve seating for the BP and families while we take pictures. Gah.
  • We made everyone find their own seats. Making a seating chart never even dawned on me until coming here, but mainly because our families all strangely get along despite divorces and other issues and our friends will talk to a lizard if they think it will listen. So yeah, they were left to fend for themselves and it all seemed to work out.

We did make 2 tables reserved for immediate family though, at ther equest of my mom, near the head table.
  • FI was so against doing assigned tables until I reminded him of the chaos at his family's weddings.  There are either not enough seats or the exact number of seats.  Finding a place to sit kind of sucks.

I don't have to make the seating chart for months, but I have a tentative spreadsheet going to get a head start.
  • Aww, I love beagles. Our next dog is going to be a beagle and I already can't wait. :)

  • We had table assignments, but no seating chart other than that. Then again, we only had about 40 people there and six tables, so I think it was pretty easy. One table: BP/us. Second table: my fam. Third table: his fam. This left three tables of friends, so that was easy peasy.
  • Ditto PP.  Table assignments, no seating chart.  People aren't going to pay attention to a seating chart anyway, they're just going to sit where they want.

  • We did not do a seating chart either. We had 3 reserved tables for WP and family and enough tables for everyone plus one extra, just in case. I've only been to one wedding with assigned seats and I really didn't care for it too much.

  • I just looked at my spreadsheet, and I was shocked by the number of people.  We originally planned on inviting 50, but now the list is up to 90.  I'm not freaking out...yet.
  • I think we'll assign tables (so we can be positive that his family is as far away from each other as possible) and let them pick their own seats.

    I want easy peasy.

Of course the spreadsheet I sent myself with everyone's dinner choice is the wrong spreadsheet. I swear I am just going to turn off my light in my office and crawl under my desk.

ETA: We just did table assignments. I thought that was going to be easy.

  • Do you know what I don't understand in the seating chart world? The idea that you should mix groups of friends so they mingle. At a friend's wedding, we could have had one table of the HS friends and our SOs, but instead she did two tables each of half HS friends and half other friends. The other friends were nice, we mingled, it was fine, but honestly, I would rather have had dinner with the friends I don't get to see that much than with new people. Don't make me mingle, let me hang out with my friends!
  • Yeah I had a red Beagle growing up, so when I saw him on the Humane Society's website I knew I had to have him. When I went in, it was love at first sight. :) He's such a goober.

Out of all of the 15-20 weddings FI and I have been to in the past few years, only two had assigned tables. Most of our friends and family just do open seating. However, since we're getting married in the same room as the reception I thought it would be easiest (and cheaper) to do assigned tables. that way there won't be a lot of confusion and we can have less tables.

However, like I said my mom is oddly really against it. I was just trying to be nice and make sure we had control over who sat with her since we don't have much close family on my side. However, if she wants to argue about it and pay extra for extra centerpieces and all of that jazz, I'm not going to get stressed out about it. There are too many cooks in this wedding kitchen right now.
  • We didn't assign anything. People sat where they liked. It worked for us.

My boss makes terrible coffee...but at least I have coffee this morning! We could be out, and that's no good.
  • Ok I just stalked your FB pics of him Birdie. TOO FREAKIN CUTE. I wish he was closer because he could totally be BFFs with Tory.

  • I know I am late to this. But just checking to see if my computer still works.

FML right now. I don't like dealing with insurance companies. They say we can stay here and will only pay a hotel for 2 days. And they won't pay to put our sh!t in storage. Yay for the insurance company helping us.

I think this is going to get real ugly real soon. The apt complex does not want to pay our deductible, so we may have to get an attorney.
  • Wait, Missy, what's going on with your computer, and why do you need insurance to pay for things? I feel like I must have missed something big.
