i really do not care if I get flamed, but I don't agree with the new moderator. Can someone shed some light on how a mod is picked? There were many more qualified people who post on this board.

Rach,before you leave can you please shed some light on this?

    Yeah, I thought there might be a vote or at least an open "who wants the job" so at least it would give anyone who wanted it a chance. I was under the impression that KA would ask if anyone wanted the job.

    I'm sorry, but throughout my planning process stinker, olivea, rach, wiwicaty, and direy were the most supportive people on here. I am glad my wedding is over now because I wouldn't want to come here for help. DiRey and Stinker were two of the most helpful and non judgmental people there are. I'm sorry but I just had to say something. I recall reading a thread where the new "mod" flamed someone for shopping at goodwill. In my opinion that is not something a mod would do.

    Ouch....I missed that thread....

    I'm curious to see how moderators are picked, too. To be honest I'm glad that I'm pretty much done planning. I've had a fair amount of help from this board but I've also seen some pretty petty & rude comments on here too.

    Actually I spoke with KA a while ago about the mod job..sorry if you don't agree with it but I did not beg or fight for it by ANY means.  A mod's job isn't to be everyone's best friend either and I did not break TK's rules with the "goodwill" post.  The main purpose of a mod is to make sure there's no venors, rules broken, personal info shared or spam.  I am pretty sure I can handle that and I think anyone else would have been able to as well.

    same thing happened on the CC board when everyone "nominated" a mod.  It had been chosen weeks before the discussion came up.

    I think a moderator also sets a tone for the board-- what will be tolerated and what will not be. I think in general, you want a moderator to be someone who is likeable and be the voice of reason on a particular board.

    Actually Smokey, you do not start fights. You give an honest opinion without being judgemental. That is what i would prefer in a mod.

    What I do not understand about you AE is this. Not even a week ago there was a long thread with Rach saying goodbyhe where everyone was throwing their support behind Direy and Stinker for mod. NOT ONCE did you throw your own name in there. Secretly though you were emailing Knot Annie. That is underhanded and shady.
