Shameful Confessions

Okay, today is another day I'm being naughty and not following my diet. But that's because I woke up in the middle of the night and spent several hours being sick on and off so have not really eaten any meals today. Just a few snacks.

Also - I saw a friend today that I knew in HS. He was good looking back then, and we always jokingly referred to him as Mr. Abs. Now he's just....WOW. We exchanged phone numbers and have been texting back and forth. He has always been a huge flirt - and I know he's not interested in me and I'm not interested in him, so while we've been catching up there has also been a little bit of light hearted flirting. I know it means absolutely nothing - but that hasn't stopped me from giggling like a school girl when his text is somewhat flirty.

Your turn!

Re: Shameful Confessions

  • Well not sure if this fits into the topic, but here goes!

    1. I'm using all plasticware at my reception (clear, scroll plates, clear cups, utensils and wine glasses)

    2. I printed all of my envelopes and only traced over some of them.

    3. I skipped RSVP cards and recommended guests check out my wedding website (for important info) and allowed them to RSVP on our website instead.

These are just a few things that I have been feeling guilty about while wedding planning!
  • I've been registry stalking like mad.

We've used ALL OUR SHOWER GIFTS ALREADY (the horror.)
  • I really like the song "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction.  It's catchy and it reminds me of being in middle school obsessing about BSB.

  • I used some shower gifts before the wedding too, MUNI. Clearly we got married but I really DGAF at the time about that rule.

I don't think i have anything shameful to say today. Umm i wrote my wedding TY cards within a week after the wedding and didn't send them out until 3 months later because I'm so fucking lazy that I didn't want to go drop $80 in stamps.
    image
  • Haha Muni - not long left until you can start using all your wedding presents!
  • Musu - I'm writing my shower TYs right now. And I already have stamps, so they'll be ready to go. Go me.

<div>Shower invites were a better situation for me. There were only like 40 or so to write & stamp, as opposed to over 100, lol. I felt bad sending them out late but its better than never, anyway. </div>
    image
  • Definitely better late than never.

I remember who did and did not send thank yous for wedding/baby stuff and I judge.
  • I bought big heeled silver sparkly shoes for the wedding. I know people think that kind of shoe is prom-like but I don't care. I love them. I've never worn shoes like them.

<div>Screw them.  Brides don't have to wear prissy little white heels.  Wear what makes you happy.</div>
  • Muni - it is very judge worthy.

Petal - pics or link to the shoes? They sound fun.
  • This might be shameful.... at my interview today I saw a person come in to file a petition against providing child support (the position is at a county attorneys office) and I judged him by his looks and filed him in my head as a typical "baby daddy".

<div>I did the exact same thing, haha.  It's amazing how fast the cost of stamps add up.</div><div>
</div><div>Also when we were mailing out wedding invitations, my mom sent H and my dad to the post office for stamps.  We needed some weird amount of postage for them, so they had to get 61 cent stamps and 17 cent stamps.  The 61 cent stamps were pretty wedding bells.  The 17 cent stamps were big horned sheep.  When they came back and showed it to us, I laughed, but my mom freaked out.  She ended up finding other stamps at a different PO, but I would have been fine with just sending the big horned sheep.  We still have some of them left, too. </div>

Yay glad I'm not the only one.

I got my TYs done within 3 days of getting back from the honeymoon.  The only real reason I did them that quickly was to show up my BIL and SIL who took 5 months to do theirs.

  • LP, FI sent out the save the dates with these hideous flag stamps.  And he bought enough to send the wedding inviations using them too.  "unfortunately" the cost of postage went up a penny before we mailed the invitations.  darn.

Musu, little bit.  But there is a world of diffence between forming a bad first impression of someone and treating them according to that first impression.

  • Also, Edie...it did not even occur to me that eating ice cream for dinner was your shameful confession.  I thought you just felt the need to share.  The right to eat ice cream for dinner is part of being a child-free adult.

  • I had a slice of cold pizza today, even though I promised myself I wouldn't. Actually, it was room temperature pizza since nobody remembered to put it in the fridge last night. It wasn't very good, and I'll probably get sick from the cheese since it sat out all night. Ahh well. That's what one gets when one breaks their diet on day one.

  • I've been doing some really bad knottie bashing in my head today but I can't bring myself to type it out.

I also did my TY's as fast as I can so I could show up everyone else in my family that's gotten married in the last 3 years.

FI and I used a vase and our toaster and our coffee maker. Shame.

    I like silver shoes.

I am wear jellies at my reception.

  • Muni - I agree with you on both counts haha.
  • Well, Poni (can I call you poni?), now you've just peaked my curiousity to who you were admonishing in your head, hah.

  • seriously, poni, out with it.  nobody likes vagueknotting!
  • *sigh*  I just wrote this TY upside down. Good thing I have extras.
  • I'm embarrassed that I only know about half the posters on E right now.

Oh I have another one! My friend, whose wedding I'm in, posted on our local board that she's sending out her invitations tonight. It got me thinking about how her wedding is in just 2 months and while I'm really excited for her, I also kind of can't wait until it's over because then my wedding will finally get all the attention in our group of friends. Yup, I'm an asshole.

</div><div>Along the lines of this, that "Call Me Maybe" song is the most horribly written song I've heard in a long time, yet I can't stop listening to it! It's too catchy!</div>

  • Flame-worthy: I'm so, so, so terrible at taking my BC pills. Terrible as in I've been off them for about two months now and I have a mental block about starting them again (or switching to something else).

This is really only flame worthy if your FI has no idea you're not taking your pills. In which case, yeah, that's not cool.
